I'm planning a schoolyear in Japan with AFS in about a year, so I was just wondering:
1. Is AFS a good company?
2. Is it easy making friends? I know a little japanese, and I think I can keep a decent conversation, but it would be totally awkward if I started: "Nani? Nani? Mo ichido itte kudasai" aaaall the time x_x
3. Is there anything I would have to prepare myself for? That is totally different from our culture?

It is very common in Japan to come to school in a mask in case you're sick. The Japanese are very sensitive when it comes to cleanliness and the spreading of germs, so it's no wonder this is so common. :-)

They do eat quite a bit of fish, but it's not like it's unavoidable. Most of their meals (in my experience) consist mainly of vegetables and rice with a little bit of meat or fish.
