  • Reclaimed Materials Rabbit hutch under $20!!
Over the past month I have been building a new rabbit hutch addition to our small livestock barn. All of these materials were sourced from scrap piles and run down structures that I dismantled over the past few months. This hutch will be able to house several rabbits and can be split it needed.
The only items purchased were the hinges which totaled under $20. The meat rabbits cost more then the hutch itself. I’m really excited to try my hand at raising rabbits and to make more videos like this so make sure to support my page by liking these videos, following my page to see more content and of course comment below for any questions of comments.
    Till next time!

that looks really good, and you did a good job designing this! One thing you might want to watch out for: the 0.5 x 0.5 wire you used for the floor might be too thin of a gauge for your rabbits long term. You might want to keep an eye on their feet, if you start seeing bald patches around their heels on their back feet, that is the first sign of sore hocks. If so, you should upgrade to using 1" x 0.5 inch wire that is at least 16 gauge, and consider putting a scrap piece of plywood in the hutch as a rest pad :)

Thank you! I have heard of this. The piece of wood in their hutches currently covers about half the square footage and they get another area of hay to nest in so now it’s pretty much covered.
