I’m legally blind an I always doubted myself about driving I’m scared to drive due to me being legally blind.but at the same time I’m moving to long Island where driving is mostly needed.my doctor told me I can drive but only in the day time.watching ur video gives me a little peace of mind an some faith lol
Heeeeey i had a appt to get fitted for my bioptics today, and guess who came in and personally did my fitting....it was Dr. Henry Greene, the president of Occutech, the company that makes the bioptic telescopes, 😁, you should have seen me like a 16 yr old school girl smiling all over the place, he's retired as an OD but still does consultations, my eye doctor knows that i am a fan of his so she told him that i was there because he actually use to work there prior to retirement. But i was sooooo excited we took a picture together and he told me that i will do great in the bioptic driving program 😁, so my day was amazing especially since all of my life i was told that i would never drive
i am in Texas too and is so interested with these bioptic lenses coz my vision is so poor that i cant see the signs even with my regular (high rx) glasses. If u could also share how much costs u had to pay with insurance having theses lenses and with the restrictions, that'd be much helpful
A very courageous and praise worthy resolve you have lady! I ve a question that i am blind in my one eye and and good eye has a visual acuity of 20/50 with glasses so can I get a driving license? . Looking forward to get your reply
It depends on your state, but most likely YES. Go to a low vision specialist and look into your states regulations. You may need a Bioptic Lens, but you may be a good candidate for driving.
