- Sheldon Wohlman of Utility Sports shares a multitude of schematic and coaching changes he would make to the Detroit Pistons if he were in Monty Williams' shoes. This video is a film study on the Pistons and their existing flaws such as the lack of help defense, misusage of Jaden Ivey, a shift to preferential offensive spacing with Isaiah Stewart playing more at the five and also the elimination of bad players completely from the rotation. Let me know in the comment section what you think about my proposed adjustments to help the Pistons... idk... win a game sometime soon! Leave a like and subscribe for more NBA Content!

Check this fun fact out... in all the years Monty has been been a head coach, he has had only 1 single season with a winning record without Chris Paul being on the roster.... without CP3, Monty's winning avg is 31 games... we should've just traded for CP3 and made him the player/coach of the damn team!!!!
Love these in depth analysis video. Slowing becoming one of my fav CZcamsrs.
The first defensive play with Cade add me IQ sus... but I'm glad I let you cook, continue
Boy came on her sending shots 😭
He told no lies... not a single one.
You are a amazing analysis. I would love to see your input on the spurs and how they can also improve.
Isiah Livers has shot 19% from the floor and 12% from 3-point range over the last 10 games, while Burks was bricking it at 30% from the floor and 25% on 3's over the last 10 games - meanwhile both these guys get minutes while Ausar and Sasser struggle to get on the floor - Ausar had 9 minutes and Sasser 10 minutes in that last loss. Monty's lineups, his substitutions and his minutes distribution are bat-shit crazy in my book. Monty is coaching like a guy who - as he said when Gore first asked him - doesn't want to be coaching this year. Well, I think I could make the argument that Monty in fact - "isn't coaching this year" - because I can't call what he's doing "coaching."
When you said no more Killian trust me no pistons fan would argue with you
Say it with your chest! Which youtuber u talking about? 👀
Is Dan Burke allowed to coach the defense how he wants? or does Monty change how he has to coach the defense. Burke has long history of being well respected defensive coach. Hasn't Burke been missing time due to health or family issue??
Ironically he was only present for the first 3 games of the season. Nobody really knows why but I think it's a big issues that nobody has addressed and it's bigger than we realize imo.
Yeah, he's been mysteriously on leave for 'personal reasons'. The defense actually looked much improved at first and has been getting worse and worse since.
Do you think it would be a mistake if we picked up a big name in free agency
Sorry u lost me...when you said Isiaah Steward should be put as Center. First he's undersized, secondly he should be a constant DNP regardless of position because he's been a liability offensively and defensely.
😂😂😂 shots fired
It’s also worth mentioning how poorly the roster is constructed. Other than Isaiah Livers and Marcus Sasser we have no three and d players on this roster. I believe Isaiah Stewart has made great strides as a shooter but defenses aren’t respecting him from there yet as much as you’d like.
You’re 100% right. No one was expecting Detroit to be a playoff team (which is exactly due to the point you’re making about Weaver - I’m not his biggest fan either lol) but I’m not sure losing 27 straight was something I would’ve guessed to happen. Honestly just bad from top to bottom!
Great analysis and content as always Sheldon, my team is a complete dumpster fire and we need to get rid of Weaver/Tellem and their kids....because Monty and Gores aren't going anywhere and this team ain't winning more than 7 games this year. Heads should have been rolling over a month ago, but ineptitude starts from the top down.
I'm guessing he's talking about that one guy who's always screaming that Monty Williams is a disgrace to basketball
Hopefully they end up with the #1 pick they really need all the help they can get.
So many nonsense taeks about the Pistons on the internet right now. Appreciate an actual analysis. Pistons fans have been complaining about roster construction for a couple of years now and some of the coaching decisions have been baffling. 26th ranked defense (DEFRTG) needs to be better. They absolutely have to bring in 3&D wings. Cade has been really awesome over the past 18 games or so. He needs some help.
It’s crazy at least that sixers team was planning to be bad…. Detroit was supposed to take a step this year. The sad part is they probably still won’t get the no#1 pick even worse this draft doesn’t have a outright number 1 prospect
Wonder who he’s hating on that’s getting more attention then him talk about the pistons 😂
Lol the guy has less subs than me and averages less views per video… not jealous in the slightest, the guy just screams at his microphone and doesn’t know what he’s looking at
@@UtilitySports Jokes bud just jokes. So who’s the guy? Lol I’m genuinely curious.
Your lineup section is missing your suggestions on who to play on the wing. That's the biggest weakness on the team.
Livers at the 3, Bojan at the 4. I assumed I made it clear that I would play Sasser more too but I probably could’ve provided more clarity
@@UtilitySports Gotcha, I heard you mention them but didn't hear your actual full starting and backup lineups. As a fan that's watches every game this season Livers ain't it, Knox is playing better FYI.
I’m just not a believer in Knox. Like I started the video, the team isn’t good. Troy Weaver hasn’t put talent around the young guys at all. It’s basically a collection of bad options, but I just think playing smaller and having two of Ivey, Cade, Duren, Stew on the floor helps a bit
@@UtilitySports I agree that there are no good options and Knox isn't someone you should "believe in" but he's playing better than Livers (ask any pistons fan). Also, Stew is just not a 4 (can't dribble or pass and is afraid to shoot anything but WIDE open 3's), he would be great as a backup stretch 5 though. Gotta get rid of either Wiseman or Bagley and let the other be center 3 behind Stew and bring in 3&D wings (even wings that can shoot but not play D woupd be an improvement). Great content though, appreciate the Pistons convo.
Blaming dwayne casey is insane, this is all on monty, he's horrible, in phoenix despite having the much better team and with Luka essentially playing 1v5, he managed to get blown out in a home game 7, against denver last season, the two teams were almost evenly matched yet they got blown out in a home game 6, now with the pistons, they had less talent last season, missing cade, bogdanovic, and not having a guy like ausar on the team yet they weren't nearly as bad as they are now, monty williams is the only one at fault
Did you watch the video? And can you tell me one thing Ivey improved significantly at last season as a rookie under Casey?
Monty is a great Xs and Os coach, but besides play design and play calling he is genuinely one of the 3 to 5 worst coaches in the league. The fact that you sre losing all these games and REFUSE to play guys like Ausar more than 26 minutes per game or let Ivey play etc is horrendous. The team is gonna be bad, you hate seeing it, but the young core players need to be playing 30 mpg
He isn't great at anything, he's horrible all round, in phoenix despite having the much better team and with Luka essentially playing 1v5, he managed to get blown out in a home game 7, against denver last season, the two teams were almost evenly matched yet they got blown out in a home game 6, now with the pistons, they had less talent last season, missing cade, bogdanovic, and not having a guy like ausar on the team yet they weren't nearly as bad as they are now, monty williams is the only one at fault
Hes not a good xs and os coach

I don't think Killian should be starting and maybe not in the rotation when Monte Morris comes back. But I don't love the examples presented here. He's improved on those short jumpshots. He's shooting 47% from 8-16 ft and 68% from less than 5 ft. He was a horrible scorer and is making better decisions this year. So he's still not good, but not horrific like he used to be. Add in the facilitation and defense, and that is valuable as a back-up. This bench sorely needs an actual PG right now.
Killian Hayes turns on something in people's brains. Either you think he can be an okay to good basketball player or you think he's the NBA antichrist and needs to be shot putted out of the league for everyone's safety.
It's funny the lengths people go to to prove the side they're on is right.
Monty needs to be on hiatus for a few games and the team might just get an actual win
Fire Monty Williams,he is not the coach for this team.
