I got this game for the Wii as well as the film on DVD for Christmas many years ago and I played through it over and over into the new year. watching the film on rainy nights and falling asleep to it... damn I wish I could relive those days from my childhood. That was the best time of my life

So unfortunate that the player didn't utilize apparition very well. It can be used to jump over the barricade or flee backward behind cover.
Use it often under critical circumstances, and you'll find that you're so agile in evading those crucio spells and spotting enemy's weaknesses.
Damn, the movie must've been really good if you slept through it.

To this day, I’ll never understand why the developers thought it was a good idea to make the spells mimic modern ballistic weapons.
Turning Impedimenta (which originally is meant to slow a target down) into a homing rocket launcher? Come on, guys.
And the fact that they made Expelliarmus as guard-breaker spell, I prefer the Expelliarmus from HBP since it's as close as what Expelliarmus intended to be, a disabler spell
Yep, the casting mechanics in this game are completely unrealistic, even chaining spells together probably wouldn't let you cast that fast, though I would expect maybe Voldemort to be that fast. Hogwarts: Legacy definitely looks better. But, Im a huge HP fan so I would still play this game, I only have a PS4 though.

They were all honestly pretty dreadful. There hasn't been a single good Harry Potter game ever. The best of a bad bunch was Half Blood Prince but that wasn't saying a lot.
I am very skeptical for Hogwarts Legacy honestly. The story sounds very cookie cutter. A late-starter to Hogwarts with mysterious extraordinary powers who just happens to be good enough to take on dark wizards and dangerous beasts combating the Goblin rebellion for some reason. I honestly think they have missed the entire thing that most people want (To experience Hogwarts and learning to be a Wizard) and are going to try and come up with an expansive original story that falls flat. I hope that I am wrong however.
I would have been much more excited if I basically saw Bully:Howarts Edition (Without the bully undertones obviously but that kind of gameplay and approach)

@@unnamed3086 Yeah I watched it and I fully disagree with that statement. The vast majority was about the overarching plot or how you can go dungeon crawling.
There was brief mention of the things you said but they definitely weren't the focus of the trailer imo. I fully expect a single lesson per class as a token gesture and the rest will be "side activities" for catching up like the magical boules game we saw.
Honestly my single biggest problem is with them starting us out at fifth year. It makes absolutely zero sense in the context of the world. It simply doesn't happen. It just seems like some lame Anakin-esque "Chosen one" bollocks.
I really hope the game is good, or at least provides a good enough platform for modders to make it good, but there is a long list of terrible Harry Potter games and there were a lot of red flags for me during the trailer so I won't hold my breath.

I actually remember playing Deathly Hollows Part 2, but not Part 1.
For whatever reason, my mom, who should have known that I wasn't really into Harry Potter, and wasn't really a fan herself, got me Part 2 instead of Part 1. And I never ended up finishing this one let alone playing part 1.
Turns out the actors who play Ron, Seamus and Neville actually voice acted in the game! I thought they sounded like the actual actors.

I was quite honestly disappointed on how short this game was. I beat the game literally within 4 hours of gameplay. I think that they if they combined both Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 I would’ve very much enjoyed it

By the way, I know in this game, Stupefy knocks you down and Expelliarmus breaks your shield. In other Harry Potter games, when you can cast both spells, what effects do they have to distinguish each other? In the movies, it's the same thing at the human target--knocking them backwards. I'm guessing there's not a game where you have the option to Expelliarmus someone _just_ to remove their wand. A defeat with no damage? I doubt that would be an option, let alone a chosen one.

It’s sad that when I look back on this. This game was basically infamous 2 in gameplay with Harry Potter story. Pretty nice honestly. Loved this game and the movies. Loved the Lego versions.
Also just finished the main story of the new game. If anyone is on the fence ab it it’s really good. Amazing graphics(at least on my computer) smooth gameplay. Just all around a fun game.
