I'm playing every Mega Man game (except the RPGs). Videos will be uploaded for members as completed, and on a regular schedule for non-members.
This video is a Mega Man 1 (NES) Retrospective. The inaugural game released in 1987. I hope you enjoy the video!

"For some reason, Elecmans music triggered memories in me..."
Journey is ingrained into our DNA, friend.
Faithfully.
The Elecman first screen music sounds like Journey
Out of the first main 8 games, the first is the only title I've never had the patience to finish.
It was MUCH easier on my second playthrough. But yeah it's super slippery and irritating in a lot of locations.
Fun fact for when you get to Mega Man 2. When you play the game it will have two difficulty modes, Normal and Difficult. In the Japanese Rockman 2, which came out first, there is no difficulty option and the game plays like the "Difficult" mode in the US release. From 3 onward there is no difficulty differences between the US and Japanese versions. So I think that Capcom was aware of the difficulty being too hard in 1 and JP2 and they decided to knock it down for US2, and they kind of over corrected, but they found more or less where they wanted to be with 3.
Great vid! This is gonna be a fun series! Subbed 😊
MM1 blew my mind on release. There was nothing like it in 1987. I was able to clear MM1 in my youth around 1988. You need ninja gaming skills to se it through on original hardware (or without spamming save states or rewind....not judging). No way I would have enough patience to see this game through these days. Nintendo hard is surely a thing. Cool video dude man.
When I play a megaman game I like to beat all the bosses with the megabuster, so I can say I conquered each of them fundamentally, but then use their weaknesses during the boss rush
This is almost verbatim what I've written in my scripts for upcoming videos. The difference is I don't necessarily HAVE to use the P shooter, it just ends up being the main one I use since I don't know the weakness order. But the boss rush is fun because I know the weaknesses so I get to flex a bit
This series is so long. Perhaps you should do two video series side by side?
We'll see. I might take breaks every few videos and do a side step if I feel my quality is going down or people aren't enjoying them
CZcams just had this video pop up. I love the MegaMan games. I'll say you'll do fine to do all the collections. MegaMan one through eleven. X through X8. The Zero games and battle network. That's what I would recommend. I'm glad I caught this at the beginning of your journey so I can watch it all the way through. How often are these videos going to be dropping?
Welcome aboard! Glad the algorithm works sometimes haha. I release weekly, my target is Fridays at 5pm ET for now (although there are usually a few vids up ahead of time for members). You could also catch my other playlists in the mean time if anything interests you :)
Funny that youtube recommended me the first video in what’s going to be an impossibly long series. I wonder, are you going to play Mega Man X Command Mission? That’s an RPG!
The algorithm works in mysterious ways 😅. X command will have to wait. I just can't do RPGs at the moment since they're so long. Otherwise I'd have made a Paper Mario or M&L video by now.
@@NintenDeenUnderstandable! You already have your work cut out for you…good luck on the journey!
Wow, you got yourself a massive ordeal forward, Deen. 58 games is a lot, even though most of them are relatively short, I hope you don't burnout by them.
Myself, I still haven't finished Star Force 1 yet, mostly because of been distracted by other games, but I will go back to it, Star Force is an awesome game, the story, characters and the scenarios are great, the overworld gameplay is a bit confusing but the battle system is very cool, if you play the rpgs at some point, maybe 2026 or beyond, for your sanity sake, I could see that maybe at that point Star Force Legacy Collection would had released and it would be more easy access to them, instead of the DS emulation like I'm doing. Hope you have fun playing and making the videos, if you can't get done a video by the week, just don't rush it, ok? You can take all the time you want with them, I bet Capcom wouldn't even announce a brand new game like MM12 or X9 by the time you are done with this, lol. Anyway, stay great!
Thanks for the kind words! And yes don't worry I very much value my mental health more than my CZcams production lol.
The nice thing is not only are these games super short but so far even length wise a single video is like a third of a the length of a Sonic video, so I'm finding getting through them to be a breeze, I've already completed 3 vids (already available for members!), and played, written scripts, and recorded my audio for another 4 more in the span of a month. But obviously these are mostly Gameboy and NES games so it'll probably slow down at some point. My ideal is I somehow get through the entire series ahead of time and can release 2 vids a week until it's complete so I'm not stuck on mega man for another year
@@NintenDeen Great to know, my guy, hope to see your content going forward. Oh, and while I know RPGs are omitted now if one day you start to cover RPGs in this channel at some point, you should try to get the ones under 20 hours of lenght, there are plenty of short rpgs out there.
I hit my burnout point before barely finishing all the platformers. To this day I’ve only finished the classic and X games and have no plans to get back to zero or legends. Maybe some day. Instead I only plan to 100% X8 some day.
@@Yousef77077That’s a shame…Zero and ZX are my personal favorites. Give it 5 years or so and come back!
You could always just devote your life to reviewing butter. Then you could change your name to PaulaDeen. It'd probably be easier.
😅😅 noted.
Are you going the tiger electronic games ?
If by "cover" you mean "casually mention in passing", then maybe.
@@NintenDeen sorry I didn’t see the error
Oh wow that's so weird I didn't even notice your error lol. I quoted it because my brain thought you wrote it
This game is a challenge I don't want to imply it isn't. I just don't think its THAT hard. Compared to other NES classics that are highly regarded anyway. I am 41 and to this day I have not beaten any Ninja Gaiden game. I've never beaten Contra without cheating. I have cleared Mega Man 1 several times though.
Personnaly, I would recommend you to start with the classic series first (Mega Man 1 to 11) then, play the X games (good luck for the last games) Zero then, ZX and then do Legends. then just do whatever the fuck you want
Also, the game boy games are the sequels of each game so Mega man 2 on the game boy is a sequel to Mega Man 2.
But seriously, just enjoy the serie. If a game just piss you off then you can skip it.
I honestly dont think this game is very hard
I think on a first run through, without knowing the weakness chain, it's obnoxiously difficult. And that's what my video is based off of. Second time around was easy though
I agree after you know the weaknesses the only hard boss is the yellow devil
It isn’t. Mega man 3 is significantly harder. If 1 gave you trouble hoooooooboy.
😬😬😬
The megaman fandom is almost as bad as the dark souls fandom.
Oh nice, video game masochists?
Everything outside of the OG titles and the X series the franchise is trash. And some of the OG & X titles such too.
Sounds intense but I guess I'll find out
Zero, ZX and battle network are good series. Mega Man 9 is great, 10 and 11 are also really good too
