Magnetic parts bowl from Harbor Freight. It practically sucks the pins out of mid air, and then you turn it upside down and it nabs all the stray pins off the floor. Way stronger magnet than the overpriced plastic things they sell at the fabric store. It’s a hack that’s truly life changing. You just flick the pins in the general direction of the bowl and Bob’s your uncle. My kids never understood that reference because my older brother is named, well, Bob.
I did end up using some rare earth magnets (way better than the chalkboardish fridge ones) to pick them up. It wasn’t so much that I was dropping the pins myself but that I’d pinned all the bias tape down and they would come out as I was manipulating the dress around

Tornado: where is the time going?!!??? Refashioning an out of date dress--how medieval of you. Overdyeing the initially startling red into that pleasing crimson--great decision. Terrific video!
This is definitely the video i needed. We upcycle our day-to-day clothes, why not our outrageously expensive beautiful hand-spun, hand-sewn organic locally sourced wool? Also, a bit of mama love going out to you watching that lil gremlin of yours growing up. Crazy how fast that happens, isn't it? My oldest could get her DRIVER'S LICENSE BEFORE YULE! Perish the thought.

It looks great! I kind of want one to wear in my everyday because I could put a pair of high waisted pants under it and still access my pockets through the huge side openings. It also just looks like such a fashion win.
I feel like it would make a good gardening or cooking apron!

Vir Cotto, hands down, he is the best person. I also have an appreciation of Bester for being the best worst villain ever, I’m basically in love with Sheridan, and Ivonova’s initial storyline is hitting different since the death of my father recently (it was fraught, we never reconciled, I’m fine, but still).
I really want to do a heraldic surcoat based on my arms instead of my barony’s!

@@susanpolastaples9688 I’m sorry for your loss. One of the things I discovered was part of my grieving process was anger that I DIDNT get to mourn a good relationship only the absence of one.

EDIT: 2:55 OMG, one of my first dresses had the same exact thing happen! I was definitely inexperienced, but still have no idea even with that inexperience how they could have ended up at hip level or below. 🤣 I may take your lead and remake it into something for a shorter friend.
