Presentations from the 2004 DOOS Annual Meeting - COBRA breakout session:Subseafloor Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal: Strategies and Knowledge Gaps. This session focused on current modeling, field, and experimental efforts related to subseafloor carbon sequestration in oceanic crust from 3 experts representing the Solid Carbon project in Canada and the CDRmare project in Germany: Martin Scherwath (Senior Staff Scientist, Ocean Networks Canada), Rachel Lauer (Associate Professor, University of Calgary, Canada), and Achim Kopf (Professor, University of Bremen, Germany). After 3 short presentations, we will discuss top priorities to address key knowledge gaps, obstacles we need to address to accelerate research, and opportunities on the horizon that could be leveraged for acceleration.
