6:03 that applies to most East Asian culture around the South China Sea. Make a slight bow with both palms in vertical pose and walk past politely. It is a gesture to say "Excuse me". The older (in comparison to you) the two people you are trying to walk past, the lower the bow, it is not an exaggeration.
I’m Native American and we do lots of these same gestures too. Especially pointing with lips lol. Was taught that pointing with your finger is rude too

I'm an American living in Cavite. I knew all but the dead stare and looking elders in the eyes. As you know, we Americans are taught to look somebody in the eyes when they're talking to us, especially our elders.

My Mom and Grandmother lived in the Philippines in Calipan, Oriental Mindoro. So even though I have never been to the Philippines I am familiar with lots of these gestures.

I've noticed a Filipina friend moves her hands in an interesting way. I wish I had it on video. I'd upload some footage of it if she'd give me her permission, but I haven't seen her in a long time.
The first time my wife did the come here thing, I saw a chair next to me so I sat down. She gave me a rather dirty look and I was like what did i do?! 😁😂😁

Mano Po is not common among Ilonggos it's more popular among Tagalogs. Not looking into my parent's eyes while talking to me was considered disrespectful in my culture. I'm Hungarian.

We, Cebuanos, call "Mano po" as "Amin".

@@warrenjaycarmen6285 My Ilongga wife disagrees. She says where she lived in Negros Occidental it's not common at all. Interestingly she doesn't know if Ilonggos use Mano Po in Panay or south Masbate where Ilonggos live.

nah dude it's "mano" - the verbal gesture to say you'll do the bless thing to your elder. Mana is the Filipino word for heritage/inheritance or in anime it's the energy required to do magic 🤣

@@chilioil7686 mano is actually a spanish word meaning hand. But we have butchered so many spanish words it totally means something else. 😂. Filipinos still use the term as in "mano mano" or in Spanish mano a mano for hand to hand. Words like Pero, Lamisa, Maiz, Tio and Tia, etc.

Man I m really pissed,u really have entertaining vlogs and get few views,so many Chanel's get heavy viewership with dumb content,some have scantily dressed women on it and wow millions of views,,,,,i was actually laughing coz I had similar experiences with the pucker lips ,I thought they were coming on to me,or on my first day in the PH I was waiting for a tricycle they would stop ,I gave them my destination all they did is look straight ahead an noded their heads,I thought they meant come in,instead they left me hanging out there with my mouth open,I m thinking wtf was that the driver motioned ok with his head but than took off,I thought the guy was just f,,,,cking with me,but no soon after I found out that nod of the head didn't mean yes,but it means no,,,,it takes a while to get used to their gestures
What can you do about the growth of the channel I dunno...I guess I have to dress up in a bikini haha. Yeah your def right about the learning curve because I had to get used to it when I moved back.
The ones interested in this subject like the expats and wannabe expats haven't picked up on this channel yet. I think you need some shoutouts by the established channels like Philippine Dreams or Bud Brown.
