The grand adventure continues, this time focused on a city I know and love dearly, seen from a new perspective... Hope y'all are doing well and staying safe! :)
I just watched yesterday's video and was bummed out it ended, so getting this new one right away was satisfying. I really enjoy how you narrate, it's both interesting & calming.
Aw Chi-town - a great city. I lived there for a few years and concur the El good unifier and public transport, walking around very easy.. Except cold, windy nights or high humidity. I highly recommend the investment of doing the arictture boat tour. You get to see a lot and learn from a unique perspective. they talk about how the tribune bldg. off Mag Mile has pieces from buildings all over the world. Things add like piece from Worl trade center, part Berlin wall. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribune_Tower. The sky is cool and the "Harry Potter" bldg Harold Washington library with owls at the top is cool to look at. In addition, the lake - almost seems like the sea to since you cant see across it! Cheers and thanks Lefie
I love watching road trip videos as someone who can't drive haha. Also your style of editing is very relaxing because you don't use the typical vlogger music that often distracts from the narration.
several yrs ago,I took a city tour by bus. I learned a lot of history- some of it funny. loved walking and seeing the different architecture of the buildings. great story behind that!
Love it, looking forward to the rest! I’ve never been on Route 66 or to Chicago so this was interesting. I grew up an hour north of Philly so that was nice to see PA in your last video. Have fun!
I went so school in Chicago from 2013 to 2017 and fell in love with the city. Eventually I moved to the east coast and then to LA where I am now but I still really miss it. It’s so nice to see footage of the city 🥰
Cool that you were a “tourist” in Chicago. Isn’t it fun to be a tourist in your own city? I did that before I moved away from Hawaii after 40 years. I did all the Waikiki and Honolulu tourist stuff. It was so fun!
It was great seeing Chicago. I live about 30 minutes North of Milwaukee along Lake Michigan. I can actually see the lake though my stained glass window on my second floor but just barely because there is a cemetery on a hill in the way. But yes. The weather here can be brutal. The summers are VERY humid. Like…my floors are sweating and water is running down my walls humid. The winters are beyond cold, snowy. And it is always, always windy. Nobody wears masks here inside or out so I have been homebound for 2 years now. This area is not for the faint hearted.
In 1999 I've been there! I have a friend in the US who lived in Lincoln, Illinois where the old Route 66 passes by! Curious to see, if you've made it there. I have just the best memories thinking of Chicago, Illinois in general, the Arch in St. Louis and the Mississippi - so I'm happy to have part 3 coming soon! Wrote my thesis about the preschool education in the US (compared with Germany) with a focus on Illinois and had a lot of nice people giving me insights during my stay... Lovely people, great BBQ! ;-)
I’ve always wanted to visit Chicago. My father lived for a short while just outside Chicago as a boy and raves about it. Thanks for the tour👍 And, another video tomorrow ?! 😮Now you’re just spoiling us.
Was it because you were going to follow route 66 the rest of the way West? I don't think it's in any way weird! I took a photo of the sign at the other end of route 66 when I was in Santa Monica.
Thanks for sharing your road adventures with us. It's great to see a cross country series like this. Great shots as well. Are you shooting all the footage with the camera we say in the mirror image in the first episode?
I have lots of friends and family in Chicago. I’m always amused by people who live in the “western suburbs”. I always want to ask, “As opposed to the eastern suburbs??”

Thanks, Juliana 😊
@@Lefie @juliana Chaparro - SAME and to come back now and getting to watch part 3 right after *chef's kiss*

It is 6:15 am in India and I love waking up to these lovely Lefie expeditions ❤

I know you have a life and stuff to do but I really don't want you to stop traveling. This series is amazing. Thank you so much. 🤗
The street drummers at the end!! 💖

Oh! Lefie you are such a tease, leaving us on a cliff-hanger like that! :-D Looking forward to the next part of your odyssey!
I too was in Chicago on a beautiful weekend recently, right in the same part of Chicago - ironically, also visiting from RI.
Omg I'm sooo happy you are posting 😁😁😁😁😁
making a city tour by car is the most american thing I've seen in a while. ^^ Do it by bike and you actually see, hear, smell and feel the city.
Oh you teaser you!
I’ve never been to Chicago so that was cool. It looks really awesome although I’m not sure about that underground road craziness
♥️

Two videos in a week, you're spoiling us! 😏

Ahhhh I lived in Chicago for 7+ years and haven't been back since (right) before COVID. This makes me something like homesick, but I love it.
HA except Lower Wacker. Maybe Lower Wacker burn in hell. Absolute nightmare.
Agreed! 😂
Blue skies do make such a difference. Here in London the occasional bright blue skies we get really transform the look of the city in photos/videos

Ohh, iconic!! Kinda makes this not-very-keen-on-the-US European want to go lol!! And Route 66 - now I'm holding my breath...
Really enjoying the travel vlog. Taking 66 west? That would be an epic drive.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to Chicago!!!🌟
Damn! What a great cliffhanger! I’m guessing you’re driving all the way down Route 66 then?
Aah so cool! I’m thinking of moving to Chicago
I recently left Chicago but man I miss it so much. My favorite building is the Harold Washington library.
We are spoiled by Lefie 🙌🏻 !!
Hey did you sleep in your van with all your stuff 🤔?
Keep them comming ☺👌🏼! Always a pleasure watching your videos 😁
Hi, Silvia! I wasn't able to sleep in the van - unfortunately it was too full... But thanks! Will do. 😁
Sounds like Lefie is about to get her kicks.

they are becoming a real Lefie Bridgers :)

Day 2 of no wink from Lefie to end the vlog. I am enjoying the road trip regardless.
Any time I drive in Chicago I inevitably go through a red light or turn down a one-way the wrong way.
Hopefully you had a deep dish pizza pie in Chicago?
cliff hanger!!
Did you grow up in a Chicago suburb? I grew up in Libertyville...
Chicago looks very reddish brown o.o are most of the buildings like that on purpose?
I have lots of friends and family in Chicago. I’m always amused by people who live in the “western suburbs”. I always want to ask, “As opposed to the eastern suburbs??”
There are also south burbs, southwest burbs, northwest burbs, north burbs, and the NorthShore.
are you really gonna drive the whole route66?
On this section of your adventure we do not see any cats! Have I mentioned you should get a cat? 😃
👍😁❓
Gentrification means really expensive places.
The been 😉
