Yeah they aren't the greatest , on the other hand is pretty dam frkn hard to sink a pontoon. The open bow boats are definitely more likely to go down , especially the drop bow ones.

I love those inboard/outboard go fast boats. Those Cigarettes, the MTI, that Baja, and that Checkmate all sounded great. You can't beat the sound of a big block V8.

I thought Royal Rock Star 80' was pretty cool, but then "LADY NINA" made an appearance, wow. That might be the coolest finish I've seen, the hull looks like a mirror.
This video was a banger, it had everything... The clip of the guy getting swept into the inlet was amazing, shows how fast the currents move. The amount of different boats we never see that often was amazing.. Great job guys as always.

I was a Coast Guardsman at Indian River Inlet, Delaware for 4 years and a boat coxswain. We had the same type of standing waves on an outgoing current as this inlet. I just can’t believe some of the stupid shite that people do here. Profoundly stupid. I can’t tell you the number of open bow runabouts that we had to race out to rescue at Indian River. You’d think people would learn but they never do. That guy with the two kids in the bow should be arrested for child abuse. 😡🤬

What beautiful boats and people. Every "captain" that goes through the inlet needs to see the clip of the swimmer being sucked from the beach and shot into the inlet. Depending on conditions, it can run that fast multiple times per day in both directions. I saw my friend, the gentleman in the Boston Whaler. Top of the day, sir. Two thumbs up to the couple with the two small children wearing pfd's. I swim in pools and most lakes with some expertise. When I go on the salt, I wear a pfd or I don't go. I am not an ocean swimmer and have never been. Plus, it's hard to float when the boat has knocked you out. And there's the guy with the beautiful seafood. From Oklahoma where we are having possible tornados Monday night. C'mon down!

If there was a giant who could pin the entire pontoon boat to the bottom, completely submerged, ...just as long as the giant eventually took his hand off, it would instantly rise back to the surface. Before long at all, all the excess pooled water would be gone from the deck. The next day all the surfaces would be dry and the boat would be sitting at it's normal height in the water.

I've seen a few boats sink on this channel, but never a pontoon. It's nuts to take it out there, but it's probably going to stay upright and afloat with a good skipper.

What the heck are the "Transom's" made from in order to hand so many large expensive motors off of? They must be some
grade of steel(stainless?) and then glassed but to have 2-5 $70,000 motors hanging the transom has got to be strong?

It is not illegal to drink and boat in Florida. It’s illegal to be to intoxicated while boating. Having a drink while driving your boat if fine as long as your not over drinking.

6:40 that Midnight Express sure sits nice and is about the nicest balanced boat I have ever seen. But jeez why don't people slow down in most of the boats just for that 4-500M distance. Lots of small craft in there so safety should be #1 and passenger comfort. If my wife was with me there pounding through those swells she would do the trip once then I would be a solo sailor.

A pontoon is two sealed tubes with a deck. What's wrong with taking it on the ocean. It can't sink unless you crash into rocks, it's a flat deck that literally can't take on water unlike other boats
