  • Foliar application of macronutrients NPK and micronutrients like Zn and Boron are very important supplement nutrients to meet wheat crop nutrients requierment. After mid ages in wheat aging process begin in roots and at the same time wheat require more nutrients for its growth and for assimilating food into grains. Roots cant met nutrients requirement because absorption process continue move towards declining. So foliar application of nutrients results very postive effect on wheat growth and yield. İt extend growth and increase crop growth duration to allow maximum food reserve movement into grains.
Foliar fertilizers play a crucial role in enhancing wheat yield and quality, especially during and after the mid-growth stages. As wheat plants progress through their development, their nutrient requirements increase substantially to support vigorous growth and grain formation. However, during this critical period, the capacity of the root system to absorb nutrients from the soil may become limited due to factors like soil compaction or nutrient imbalances. In such instances, foliar fertilizers offer a practical solution by providing a direct route for nutrient uptake through the leaves.
By applying foliar fertilizers during the mid to late growth stages of wheat, farmers can swiftly address any nutrient deficiencies that may arise, ensuring continuous and balanced nutrient supply to the plants. This rapid response is essential for sustaining optimal growth rates and mitigating the risk of yield losses due to nutrient stress. Moreover, foliar fertilizers offer a higher degree of nutrient accessibility and utilization efficiency compared to soil-applied fertilizers, as they bypass soil constraints and deliver nutrients directly to the active metabolic sites within the plant.
Furthermore, foliar fertilizers contribute to improved crop quality by promoting healthier foliage, enhancing tillering during early growth phases, and facilitating better grain filling. This translates into higher yields with superior grain size, weight, and nutritional composition, which are essential factors determining the market value and consumer acceptance of wheat produce. Additionally, the flexibility of foliar fertilizer application allows farmers to adjust the timing and dosage according to specific crop requirements and prevailing environmental conditions, thereby optimizing resource utilization and maximizing returns on investment. In summary, the judicious use of foliar fertilizers during and after the mid-growth stages of wheat cultivation is a sound agronomic practice that ensures sustained productivity and profitability in wheat farming endeavors.
