this happened to me in Skyrim years ago. I was somewhere in the Reach, exploring, and my game AutoSaved. Almost at the exact same time, a hagraven cast a fireball at my face and blew me off a cliff. The game loaded again, and my character died before the loading screen ended. Then it happened again and again and again as I just tried to open my menu. I loaded from a previous save, then I realized that my last save was 5 hours ago.
The pain.

this happened to me once, the game saved as I was jumping over a gap and every time it loaded I just fell down the gap.
Basically Fallout: New Vegas's autosave system.

This reason is exactly why quicksaves and regular saves are two different things you can load. Thank god for game mechanics.

Hahahahahaha this happened to me when I was a kid in Max Payne 2. Saved while diving in a room. It took over an hour to get past.
I was playing Half-Life once and I saved the game with 1 HP, right before a part with a sniper and a bunch of machine gun grunts

Alex Rhea All you had to do was run away and level up some more. If you're level 3 or 4 the ice troll should be a fair fight. Also, make sure to use fire attacks to deny him his health regen.
Same with me. It was on PS3 and I had to make a new game.

This is exactly what I did in sitting. Used console command tgm for God mode after quicksaving during combat. This guy is spot on.

This basically describes me during the stealth mission in Return To Castle Wolfenstein. I saved just as I got spotted.... Last save point from that was first major boss...

What I learned from Skyrim quick saves is to only quick save in other rooms or away from others.

Hahahahaha! I can't stop laughing! But it is very true. Happens to me in Fallout alot, next thing you know you reload 100 times because you get ambushed and your companions die. You always gotta remember to make an extra save file, or you're screwed.

Something similar happened to me when I was playing Skyrim. I saved my game right when a dragon was about to hit me and I kept dying over and over again as the game was loading the last save. Those were some funny memories.

whenever I quick save in a room with a bunch of bad guys, I just spam fire and hope not to get shot.
I did this while falling down a giant wall in an old star wars game. Sometimes when I loaded that save again I wouldn't die when I hit the bottom :D

Reminds me of an autosave file of mine on MW3. It's the stage when you're in Africa and mortars are firing at you. I ran the wrong way and then it autosaved. Infinite mortar deaths soon followed.
My friend was at the end of a horror game and he quicksaved on a point where the monster would just instantly kill him xD
