A suspect identified as a 71-year-old writer has been detained, with an initial investigation finding a “clear political motivation” behind the assassination attempt, according to Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok.

His security detail was totally incompetent and not properly trained. Too many basic and fundamental mistakes were made before and during the shooting, very slow reaction after first and second shot, even undercover and uniformed police froze completely, some of them were just watching as if nothing hapenned.
How can you be totally competent AND not properly trained? I do not think you are totally competent at posting.

I guess the clip showing the medics rushing to save a man whose life depended on them rushing was filmed in slo-mo. I heard 4 shots but perhaps that was recorded in slo mo too & the 5th shot didn't survive the edit. Ditto re. his body's guards. The slo mo made it appear as though they all just stood around during & after the shooting without bothering to draw a weapon - not even to save themselves from being shot by a bullet going astray. 🙄

I like how those elderly true-bearing, loving and polite men and women were shouting "you s*ckeeeer!", "you f*ckeeer!", "Just kill him, somebody!" at the assassin as they were patriotically standing next to him, not giving a damn thing about doing something useful to either stop him or to help the PM who was on the ground for several seconds... This truly depicts the morale of my country. I am always ashamed when I see that footage. It's just so grotesque - everything, from the incompetent bodyguards (led by corrupt aparatchik who was hired for the job just because he was some local party leader) to the nonchalant people not caring about what's going on around them.
It seems some security personnel were also involved. Watch the video carefully on the some of security personals reaction when shots were fired.

I agree. The greeting of the crowd looks "random" and then suddenly there is a guy with a gun. That's suspicious. The driver or someone must have known there was a guy with a gun so they decided to stop there.

Róbert Fico used to walk among people like this. He did not get out of the car but left the building. He was getting into the car that was waiting there, but in the meantime, his constituents were waiting for Fico, among whom was Juraj Cintula who shot him.
They were totally caught by sutprise and even at that they took control of the attacker in 2/3 seconds.
The security was just hideous. Fico walked out of the building among the people, because he is a populist and that is how he operates. The attacker was some 71 year old guy who can't handle his emotions, so he chose violence

Been vaccines in our history since modern medicine took flight. Not too sure about a global vaccine program but if you got a preventable disease because some yahoos out there made it difficult from you from getting a vaccine…you’d be pretty angry
@@Jimmy911ism I'm from Slovakia. The crowd did not know it was going to happen - those were some random old people. I think that they might've been in shock for a little bit, but there was a video recorded right after the shooting where they were cursing at the gunman. Those people were Fico supporters, they were there to meet him and shake hands with him for a bit. People that don't like Fico don't really go to meet him in public (except for this guy, trying to assasinate him). I'm not really surprised he didn't try to run away or fight security. He is 71 years old, so he didn't have much chance to run away. And I doubt he'd want to harm anyone "innocent" AKA anyone who wasn't his target.
