  • If you watched us yesterday you would have seen us leave the Medway and motor to Dover. Today the wind is much more favourable and we get to sail along to Eastbourne on part two of our journey down to the Solent.
We make these films just for fun, and we hope that you have enjoyed watching them however we have been asked on a couple of occasions now if we have a Patreon account. We don’t want to do that at this stage as we feel it would turn the channel into a business, and as we said at the beginning, this is all just for fun. However if you would like to support us and feel you could help contribute to the cost of making these films then you can do that via our PayPal account here. A big thank you to everyone that has already done this, its a great help.

10:57 A tip for tying up on a dock, stern line first and idle forward then bowline then neutral. It's a method many ferries use and it doesn't matter about wind or tide. The only trick is after the stern line is secured steer away from the dock when idle forward and the boat will come along side the dock. You'll looks like a pro lol

Great to bump into you in Eastbourne. Not sure if we arrived same day as you, but by 10pm the winds had picked up considerably and we were surfing waves with just half the genny unrolled and nothing else. Still doing 6.5 knots through the water !

Wonderful video as usual. We did the very same trip in September '21 and for the sake of transparency confess that a) we messed up the lock and then b) completely messed up berthing! Maybe it's something about Eastbourne or.....

Does the lifeboat live in the marina and have to go out through the lock?

Hi. I dont know im afraid but probably. There are two locks here, 24 hour operation and one is always ready so they could be out within a couple of minutes

Hi Luke. Generally we had 8-10 hr days so not that bad... and of course its why we split the journey up as we did. That said we did it like a delivery trip and as you have seen motored when ever we couldn't maintain a good pace.
