My name is Jon, and welcome to the Noise Berry Games channel! Noise Berry Games is a gaming channel where I play games with my friends. I cover many different types of games, from indie survival games like Don't Starve, to more popular AAA games such as Hearthstone and Far Cry. The channel began by creating mod spotlights for the game Don't Starve, but eventually changed its focus to focus more on cooperative let's plays, highlight videos, and series of first impressions and reviews.

It would be interesting to see like a throw back thursday thing where you do older games like castle quest or shadow quest, not that I know if either of those are on there. But I can see you having a lot of fun with retro games like that. Sorta like I think you'd enjoy Crawl (on steam) but not sure if you can figure out the co op for that to play with the boys one night. But yeah things like this is why that rom filled nes box was popular. People like having a lot of titles built in so you don't have to keep changing out media to access them.

It's funny you mention the NES box, since I do actually own all the mini consoles! I definitely think a big positive of this is like I said about how you don't have to setup the emulators and ROMs, the app just does everything for you!

@@NoiseBerryGames yeah, it really is, I mean, I lost count of how many times I had to hunt up work arounds for crashing roms and emulators that would work around this or that system. Language patches, ect. I like the idea of having it all self contained where I could just click and play. And yeah, those mini sonsoles are awesome!

From a preservation standpoint, this si great, from a personal standpoint, ti is a pass for me. It is still beyond admirable that the team made all of these playable with controller and took the time for over a thousand games, there is clearly a lot of passion here.

I'd agree with that! And the preservation standpoint is one I hadn't fully considered; it's super easy to play something like Spyro or Tomb Raider nowadays, but some of the more obscure games on here might be harder to find.

In terms of preservation, it is not good. Games get removed (The Midway arcade games for example). Antstream is not about preservation.

It's an interesting service. I do see the appeal, but I'm a little hesitant seeing those gems. When the appeal of the service is co-op and competitions, and you have to pay to do that with gems, I'm left wondering how much those gems cost, if the free ones you get ever slow to crawl, and how worthwhile this is if you run out.

The gems are very confusing. It seems like they're the in-app purchases for players on the free tiers, but then I wonder why I had gems and why I needed to use them when I'm on the premium tier.

seems fun but maybe once the library is bigger. so far only 5 ps1 games.

I agree, no harm hanging on for more games! It's solid right now if you're mostly interested in arcade games and the like, but definitely not so much if you're looking for PS1 games.
