Gary Rossington , Always Loved Never Forgotten, Forever Miissed
Very underrated...RIP
I never got to see the original Skynyrd but did get to see The Rossington Collins band and 38 Special. Seeing videos of the amazing live performances are just dazzling. RIP Gary.
I saw them on the first night they opened for the Who at the Cow Palace in S.F..
@@mrabrasive51 It must have been an amazing night of rock n roll!
@@mrabrasive51 I'm so jealous!
@@ElizabethJohnson-ss4ce the concert was on a Tuesday school night.by Friday free bird was on the radio!.I think gimme 3 steps was the main single.
Miss you Gary 💝
RIP. Lynyrd Skynyrd are an awesome band, but so much tragedy.☹
That’s Sad not ever seeing them as I saw the original Skynyrd 6 times as they were good to us up in Pensacola and Mobile as I saw their 3 tours before the crash. I feel blessed!
you rocked Gary rip stevo
I had the privilege of meeting Gary, Allen, Billy and Leon twice when they toured as Rossington Collins. They were all very personable and unique individuals.
Thank you exceptional guitarist
Gary...you were the reason I picked up guitar in 1975!!!You were the greatest.....and me....well let's just say I have fun strumming badly on Friday nite drink in had!!!! You will never be forgotten!!!
Yep, me too. Tried to learn to play Free Bird. Was a disaster, but I still play it. Saw them in Atlanta many years ago. My favorite of all time. Well, the Beatles are ok too!
I have all of Skynyrd's Albums. Bought them when they first came out.
I bet you didn't. You obviously don't know the history
@@scottysmith719 How do you know what I know?
Because you just didn't. Most of the stuff didn't come out till after the plane crash
You got to be honest with yourself. Before you can be honest with anyone else you should start there
@@scottysmith719 What do you mean by most of the stuff didn't come out till after the plane crash?
His legacy in God will live on forever! Gary loved Jesus Christ and he wasn’t shy about it his soul is resting with the father in heaven

Thank you my friend 🥰 And hope they have an amazing birthday 🥳🎈
Last summer I went to Criswell Park. They turned it into a football field a long time ago. But I went to where the home plate would be dug the grass out, and under the ground was the home plate. I
own it today.
Great really GREAT .!!! MUCH THX
Another great one 😎😍
Thank you! I appreciate it 🤗💕
I don't think lots bands did work as hard as they did
Seemed to be a really good person. Hell of a guitar player!
R.I.P./💥\
Gary was always my favorite in the early days. It's a shame he was never able to conquer his alcohol addiction. It didn't seem to impact his playing as much in the early years, even through Rossington-Collins. I couldn't watch the re-united Skynyrd because he was so obviously impaired much of the time. I always wondered if Dale made any attempt to keep him reasonably sober before shows. Loved the guy, but it was just sad.
I don think those guys ever recovered from the planes crash, both physically and psychologically and self medicated. Before the crash, the substance abuse was to either keep their energy going or partying to have fun and relax between and after shows.
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!
Saw LS in 1974 at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis.
Collins. Oh my goodness.
Ronnie's platform shoes.

And Leon Wilkeson and his awesome hats.
Georgia Peaches and All I Can Do Is Write About It
Prince charming was in many ways no prince..eventually his truth will be known..just ask Larkin Collins among others
Too late for that, but the stories are out there.
Praise God 🙏 he loved Jesus.
