Superb job, should last another 50 to 70 years! I've just restored a knackered Singer 111G156, it was rusty and looked awful but wasn't seized. Now it sews better than I can believe!

Interesting approach to the paint removal. Did you use any paint removal liquids; or just mechanical means? Also, I'd suggest using a lazy susan (aka turntable) to make life much easier when rotating the machine for spraying. Helps you keep your hands off of the machine, avoiding smudges, swipes, etc. that can become real headaches when you rest and see what has happened. Keep up the good works and thanks for sharing. I have a 143w3, 143w series essentially the same machine.

If you are in the Unite States, I'd recommend mineral spirits. Get the kind with kind that is labeled Low VOC. You can put the spirits into a pump oiler to apply it more directly and in the amount that you want. For this purpose as a cleaner, mineral spirits are the next best, and I think less noxious, alternative to kerosene. Also, storage safety-wise, you can buy mineral spirits in lower volumes - a quart as opposed to a gallon or more of kerosene. And, the mineral spirits provide some lubricity. If you have a new to you machine, you could lube it up with mineral spirits in the oil ports/areas and run it slowly to help get the old varnish off of the critical metal parts that are often a devil to get at with swabs or wipes. Remember EYE PROTECTION + GOOD VENTILATION!!
