  • As well as being known for its yoga and meditation retreats, Rishikesh is perhaps best known by western tourists as the place where The Beatles headed to study transcendental meditation under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Donovan, Mia Farrow and Mike Love of The Beach Boys joined them there.
This was one of The Beatles most productive periods and most of the songs on the album 'The Beatles' (more commonly known as The White Album) were written here.
Join me as I explore what remains of The Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh, India.

Great tour and video man ! I am enjoying your travels throughout India. Even tho Maharishi's ashram is now an abandoned ruin, the mountain views, the sound of the Ganges, the trees and shrubs, birds, and "apes" ( as Ringo referred to them) would all still be pretty much the same as they were, the February 1968 visit. And, you picked, I think, the most appropriate song to sing at the Beatles Ashram Tiger Reserve ! ;).
Would like to make the trip myself, so it's very useful right now to follow your footsteps.
