To me the conversation goes beyond "cancel culture" especially when some of the accusations has to do with sexual assault so bringing up cancel culture gives me the icky feeling because it's so much more than some cancel shit especially because He absolutely did the things he got accused of aka him admitting it HIMSELF and one of his ex girlfriends came out about SEXUAL ASSAULT......and his fans have tried to make people believe that it was fake. A man can literally say on camera that he is guilt and you'll have people still talking about "no he's innocent 🥺" that man has been nasty towards women, SA-ed one of his exs, talking shit about his members behind their backs. The fact that he even gets to keep his supporters and career....the MALE privilege of it all gives me such a big ick. SM have encountered scandals like this countless times over the years in the past and they always take legal action when the idol is innocent.....so for them to not do anything this time is even MORE proof yet again that he is guilty. He admitted and the company admitted. He's gone i think we should all just move on especially wayv themselves have moved on without at this point they also keep stressing that wayv are 6 now and this is a new beginning for them.....they themselves clearly don't wanna mention him or want him part of the group because of another scandal that he talked bad about them. So yeah do what yoy want with this information!!! I know you'll get like hundreds of mixed conversations in the replies but just keep in mind the male privilege of it all for a man to still have supporters after admitting to everything nasty and think about how amber heard got treated and the backlash SHE got after that whole case. I think this is a really good conversation to have, in general! Not even just about this specific situation, but when it comes to celebrities and harmful behaviours. This is kind of what I was referring to in the video when I talked about the importance of accountability -- LOTS of powerful people are never held accountable, simply because they are famous and have lots of supporters, and that's not okay. Especially when it normalizes things like SA. We need to talk about these things more openly, ESPECIALLY when celebs are accused. This was an opportunity for SM to make a real statement and shed light on the topic, but instead it seems like they were awkwardly quiet about everything.

Phantom was so good and very much needed at this time cause of how long they went without a comeback. I was very proud of them cause it meant that they were buliding back up and this comebk just proved why they are also nct Gurl, im so with you. I don’t know the full story, but to me everything just feels so vague. Cause like he left and its been 2 years so i just knew he wasnt gonna come bk knowing how SM usually handle these things because of how long the hiatus was. Im just satisfied that he at least is still a solo artist at SM.

I honestly just feel bad for an idol who has dedicated years to this career to just lose it. I worry for their mental health. So I hope he’s ok. He was one of my biases, and I was happy when WayV was announced because he shined so much. I hope he's still in SuperM since they didn't include it in the statement, and we also get Jalapeño. Just unfortunate, they waited over a year to do this. Even a week before the official departure, his presence was still included in group videos through little things. The situation will always be weird, and if he does have a solo debut, instead of hating, people will just ignore him. As always, I wish everyone who needs it the best.
Girl, check out Bad Alive (English version), Turn Back Time, Take Off, Diamonds Only, and their RainbowV videos. The TenxWinwin one is the BEST. Ten is amazing, he’s one of my ULTS. His solo song Birthday? 🥵 WayV is pretty easy to learn. The silver hair one with epic vocals is Xiaojun. The pretty one with the deep voice is WinWin (formerly of NCT127, preJungwoo), red hair is Kun, blonde rapper is YangYang, the other rapper is Hendery. WayV is the newest subunit, debuting in 2019 I do believe, and they aren’t as heavily worked as the other NCT units, so they don’t have a huge discography.

regardless of what my personal opinions of lucas as an idol, performer, person etc. are, i stand firmly by the opinion that sm did the right thing. i genuinely think that bringing him back to the group after so long would almost bring down the nct/ wayv brand (more than it already has i guess) - over the past couple of years, a lot of strong opinions have been formed against him, which would likely deter people away from nct if sm were to have brought him back to the group. from a business standpoint, i also think it's a decision they wouldn't have made lightly considering how large his individual fanbase is. as for phantom, what an incredible song. for me, yangyang and xiaojun really owned it.
The appropriate response is to look at both sides of the issue. No need to hate on someone, No need to blindly support someone either when you dont have any info of what's go on.
None of us can say because Lucas never had the chance to say what happened. We just got some forced apology and then he disappeared. I'm 50/50. I think it have something to do with culture. The word "idol" in Asia means the person who become idol need to be well behaved at least not violated a certain standard. It's not good for cancel culture to ruin someone life. But the person who become Idol eps kpop know what commitment they made for the career. It's the ethics. In the past decades Asian culture was crazy enough to follow everything idol did. I mean everything good or bad. One of the craziest is suicidal trend in Japan and China. Or the significant increasing of Chinese mafia because of one Hong Kong famous movie. I don't know the truth behind Lc scandal. I shouldn't judge him. Just grad he finds solution that's best for everyone. I hope lumis and Wayzenni stop come to eachother. WayV has amazing R&B vibe music I think the whole album worth listening without a skip. The lyrics have good meaning. I love them more about this. Wayv always want to deliver a good feeling.
Personally, I error on the side of believing people who come forward with sa allegations or that sort of thing. However, in this case it seemed like he was just an a-hole. Regardless, not sure why the apology and decision took so long.. I feel bad for WayV because they are so talented! Lucas leaving NCT and WayV saddens me. SM taking so much time was really cruel to the other members, Lucas and the fans. It was so drawn out without any kind of explanations and just leaving all of us hanging. It sucks. But also, what about SuperM? The kpop world is way too harsh and most of the time there is no proof or evidence of any kind aside from one random person posting on a burner account. Everyone attacks these idols like they should be held to an inhuman standard and they just all get on a bandwagon of nonsense and hiding behind the screen and typing terrible things. So many artists have been ruined and destroyed, by doing NOTHING or things that are minor and are things that in the US we wouldn’t even blink at. They have had to build themselves back up: Wonho of Monsta X, Woojin of StrayKids, B.I of iKon, Soojin of (g)I-dle, Chan of Victon, members of LOONA, don’t even get me started on the Seungri business (BigBang will never come back I don’t think) and how orchestrated and vile the media was in attacking him without facts, the endless persecution Chen went through over marriage and a baby. And these aren’t “antis” but people who say they are fans.
Overall, I'm glad WayV will actually be able to move forward without all this ambiguity hanging over them. I love phantom and am hoping for another comeback. --- Regarding Lucas, pictures of him and text messages were leaked that would be pretty difficult to disprove, but of course, that didn't stop the stan investigators from trying. With idols, it's incredibly difficult to prove if they have "changed" so to speak after scandals like this because they are very rarely ever themselves in front of cameras anyway. From what I noticed, during this whole Lucas ordeal was that the majority of NCTzens and WayZennis didn't necessarily want Lucas to return. It's specifically his fans that do. For example, every time they teased Lucas potentially returning to WayV, the WayZennis would make it known that they didn't want him to return and potentially ruin the group's reputation. Just recently, his birthday was listed with the rest of the WayV members and this upset some WayZennis. I think this is why it has taken so long for a decision to be made, because this type of fan response has never happened with other SM groups, even win the idol has done something that is obviously awful. SM usually doesn't remove idols from groups unless they personally request it/it's negatively impacting everyone involved or if that idols scandal is so severe that it would be difficult to do damage control. The company retained him on the roster and seems to see some value in him as an idol. He still has a sizeable solo fanbase that can at least allow him to be active in some capacity.
The majority of the claims against Lucas, made by the women he so called "Gaslighted", were debunked. I think he would have been welcomed back to the group if not for the "alleged" hurtful statements he made about his feelings for his group mates and what he thought of them. I think that is what hurt his idol relationships the most with his groups. It would have just been too awkward for him to come back to WayV and Super M. Lucas was a standout for me in both groups. The K-Pop Industry is so hyocritical. They gave him an image of being the bad boy and rebel of the group and drop him when they find out he does have bad boy tendencies. 😳 K-Pop Management is just as dysfunctional as their fans. I am glad that they are going to try to market him as a solo artist. What he did, didn't equal to him losing his career and all the hard work he put into being an idol. If he comes out with a solo project, I will support it. Jiayou Lucas! Carry on!
Why are people acting like he lost his career? He still has the majority of his fans. He can easily go into modeling or anything else without any backlash. Plus if the fans so easily 'debunked' accusations against him, why wouldn't Lucas do the same for himself? Idols hands aren't tied if they want to do any legal procedures.

I don't know the truth behind Lc scandal. I shouldn't judge him. Just grad he finds solution that's best for everyone. I hope lumis and Wayzenni stop come to eachother.
WayV has amazing R&B vibe music I think the whole album worth listening without a skip. The lyrics have good meaning. I love them more about this. Wayv always want to deliver a good feeling.
Personally, I error on the side of believing people who come forward with sa allegations or that sort of thing. However, in this case it seemed like he was just an a-hole. Regardless, not sure why the apology and decision took so long.. I feel bad for WayV because they are so talented! I also feel bad because there were so many TikToks of Lucas messing up choreography lol 😬 Anyway, love the WayV song Miracle (same vibes as Love Talk). And love Ten's song Dream in a Dream (the dance practice is magical)! Hope you had a good week!
Lucas leaving NCT and WayV saddens me. SM taking so much time was really cruel to the other members, Lucas and the fans. It was so drawn out without any kind of explanations and just leaving all of us hanging. It sucks. But also, what about SuperM? The kpop world is way too harsh and most of the time there is no proof or evidence of any kind aside from one random person posting on a burner account. Everyone attacks these idols like they should be held to an inhuman standard and they just all get on a bandwagon of nonsense and hiding behind the screen and typing terrible things. So many artists have been ruined and destroyed, by doing NOTHING or things that are minor and are things that in the US we wouldn’t even blink at. They have had to build themselves back up: Wonho of Monsta X, Woojin of StrayKids, B.I of iKon, Soojin of (g)I-dle, Chan of Victon, members of LOONA, don’t even get me started on the Seungri business (BigBang will never come back I don’t think) and how orchestrated and vile the media was in attacking him without facts, the endless persecution Chen went through over marriage and a baby. And these aren’t “antis” but people who say they are fans.
Overall, I'm glad WayV will actually be able to move forward without all this ambiguity hanging over them. I love phantom and am hoping for another comeback.

Regarding Lucas, pictures of him and text messages were leaked that would be pretty difficult to disprove, but of course, that didn't stop the stan investigators from trying. With idols, it's incredibly difficult to prove if they have "changed" so to speak after scandals like this because they are very rarely ever themselves in front of cameras anyway.
From what I noticed, during this whole Lucas ordeal was that the majority of NCTzens and WayZennis didn't necessarily want Lucas to return. It's specifically his fans that do. For example, every time they teased Lucas potentially returning to WayV, the WayZennis would make it known that they didn't want him to return and potentially ruin the group's reputation. Just recently, his birthday was listed with the rest of the WayV members and this upset some WayZennis. I think this is why it has taken so long for a decision to be made, because this type of fan response has never happened with other SM groups, even win the idol has done something that is obviously awful.
SM usually doesn't remove idols from groups unless they personally request it/it's negatively impacting everyone involved or if that idols scandal is so severe that it would be difficult to do damage control. The company retained him on the roster and seems to see some value in him as an idol. He still has a sizeable solo fanbase that can at least allow him to be active in some capacity.
The majority of the claims against Lucas, made by the women he so called "Gaslighted", were debunked. I think he would have been welcomed back to the group if not for the "alleged" hurtful statements he made about his feelings for his group mates and what he thought of them. I think that is what hurt his idol relationships the most with his groups. It would have just been too awkward for him to come back to WayV and Super M. Lucas was a standout for me in both groups. The K-Pop Industry is so hyocritical. They gave him an image of being the bad boy and rebel of the group and drop him when they find out he does have bad boy tendencies. 😳 K-Pop Management is just as dysfunctional as their fans.
I am glad that they are going to try to market him as a solo artist. What he did, didn't equal to him losing his career and all the hard work he put into being an idol. If he comes out with a solo project, I will support it. Jiayou Lucas! Carry on!
Why are people acting like he lost his career? He still has the majority of his fans. He can easily go into modeling or anything else without any backlash. Plus if the fans so easily 'debunked' accusations against him, why wouldn't Lucas do the same for himself? Idols hands aren't tied if they want to do any legal procedures.
