I'm surprised no one mentioned that XG became the first Japanese female artists and first Japanese group to make the US radio top 40 charts with Left Right. Currently in its 10th week at number 27 and a peak position of 26. This month also marks the first time performing in Japan and America.
Yeah, Japanese girl group is the first in US chart. But Japanese boy group been on the US chart ( TRAVIS JAPAN etc. 2022. ) Japanese solo artists such as Namie Amuro and Ytada Hikaru been in the US chart since 1996. Congrats to ALL!! Japanese artists!!

I do agree with you. NJ tried but XG did it real proper. It doesn’t feel forced, it came natural to XG. If you watch any of their interviews, they are influenced heavily by R&B and hip hop and I’m here for it. They’re playing here in NYC on the 21st. Cannot wait to see them live

Based on western definition of their term "K-pop," it just means pop music from Korea. The meaning has nothing to do with the genre, the nationality of the group members nor where the music label originate. So XG is very K-pop as their label is based in Korea, train with K-pop disciples & methodologies while partially physically train in Korea and promotes in Korea as their main market since debut.

I don't know much about NewJeans but the members of XG are well versed in early 2000s and 90s boy/girl group concepts and music in general. One of the members said she hoped Left Right gave TLC vibes, I think that is why they seem more natural with it. The youngest members Maya and Cocona are seventeen so they're still young but I personally think that their innate talent + training is the reason why they're so good at such a young age.
Yes, xg they trained for about 5 years and weren't told about old school hip-hop and r&b artists. Most of them grew up with hip hop music and r&b and rap. Like cocona been rapping since third 3rd grade and doing music, she refers herself as the hip hop maknae her inspiration was Lauryn hill. Maya also grew with tlc destiny's child Aaliyah and Boyz ll men. She loves silk sonic and they love disco music too. They said in a interview that those are their influences mostly poc artists growing up. They are a core hip-hop and r&b group. When they are on the road they listen to mostly hip hop and r&b mostly 90s and 2000s. Yes they said they did left right to be throw back to the late 90s and 2000s music videos
You can't go wrong with anything XG. But I found the best approach to get a sense of the members as individuals is to watch each individual XG Move #2 video first (named for each member: Jurin, Cocona, Maya, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria), the the rap line through XG Tape #2 GALZ XYPHER (Cocona, Maya, Harvey, Jurin), and vocal stylings through all three VOX videos. However, I would say hands down the best way to see the sheer skills, swag, personality as a team and synchronization of this entire group is to watch the "Fixed" version of the Dance Practice videos for all four Music Videos in order (Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star and Left Right).
I've reacted to fixed dance practices of Mascara, Shooting Star & Left Right... they ABSOLUTELY made me fall in love with these girls! You said it perfectly: talent, swag, personality, charisma, synchronicity, everything all at once! Those dance practices are AMAZING! You hit the nail with explaining what you feel about NewJeans, they don’t carry the soul of Hiphop and RnB like XG does. I had literally the same feeling about them, but I started with their XG #Moves, then the Cyphers the XG tapes, then Tippy toes, Mascara, Shooting Star and Left Right. Hard to choose between Shooting Star & Left Right, but with Left Right there is no other group that is able to give you that vibe and pull it off like they do it. XG exudes everything I want from a girl group that is RnB and hiphop, they are not about riding on a trend. Also the XG members are on the level of a professional dance crew, especially JURIN and COCONA, but the difference with the remaining XG members are very small that it’s hard to see if you watch together. Anyway sit back and relax with XG because you are going on exciting journey watching all of their content. There is no other existing group that is authentic like how XG is formed and what they represent 👏

They’re a breath of fresh air in an over saturated industry where you could take one groups songs give it to most other groups and not realise it wasn’t their own music. YES! Both of those groups brought something so unique and different, which we NEEDED. I love all the other groups, but this new vibe from both groups is the best. Also, I wanted to mention this when I did the XG Deep Dive, but even things like them having fun on stage... it's so intentional! In the Left Right dance practice, you see them smiling, laughing, being silly together and as much as I think that's natural, I also think it's something they're encouraged to REHEARSE and include in their practices. What you practice in the dance studio is what you perform on stage, and they make sure they give the energy the song requires, even in their practices! TOP LEVEL ARTISTRY!

I feel you girl so much!! Exactly how i reacted when i first watched their Cypher and XG Move #1-3..I was really blown away by how much talent they have from sing, dance and rap. They have so much swag and bad ass when they perform but when they start to talk, their cuteness just melt me out. Duality at its best and they are the Best out there amongst 4th gen IMO. Cypher for rap and XG move 1-3 i would recommend then chill Bill too.

The easiest way to get to know all of the members is watching the XG Move series (#1-#4). It's three group dances and each member's solo performance. I'd recommend watching them all at once and in order since it shows a wide variety of their dance styles and makes it easy to recognize each one of them. It helps that they're all super skilled dancers, so there's not like a weak link.

My sentiments exactly (8:40). They had me since Mascara. They're the kind of group that I've been ranting to myself about not really seeing. They're doing it even better than the k-pop girlies and I a pplaud and appreciate that from them. Yes, I do have my small handful of 4th gen girl groups that I love, but XG just hits so different. They're bringing their own thing to the table that nobody can touch. They ARE TALENT. They don't know what generic or basic is. They consistently give me unique choreo, unique bars, unique songs, facial expressions, gestures & poses; etc. So far, and I'm pretty sure going forward, I'm never gonna have to wonder if they're gonna give me something boring. I say boring as in: "I've heard these kind of switchups and drops, seen these dance moves, gestures, poses, & exact concepts all a million times before so&so came along and it makes me even more picky about who I listen to. Nowadays with the more groups that are pumped out, it's harder to find groups with their own color, and to be able find it early on in their careers too, which makes me all the more excited for XG's journey. Edit: I see what you mean and agree about the NWJNS comparison. I'm a new jeans girlie as much as the next person, but though the concepts are on point, they do feel different. But regardless, like you said, they both deliver flawlessly. I haven't seen the concepts executed as amazingly as they've done it, and there have been a couple of attempts.
YES! I love a lot of k-pop but I do have to admit that so much of it feels really generic and repetitive. Entertainment companies are following a formula they know works, so it can feel really basic. But EVERYTHING about XG feels so fresh to me and I love it! Everything you mentioned, they just have their own way of being and I love it! And I can say the same about NewJeans, too! I got so excited when they debuted cuz it feels DIFFERENT.

XG is my first girl group. I came into the Kpop world two years ago after seeing Stray Kids God's Menu and been "here" ever since. I tried to get into the girl groups and they just didn't grab me. XG caught me up with one video just like the men's groups that I like. To me they are more of a dance crew that can rap and sing. Their dancing so clean. I prefer to watch the performance video, then dance practice, then lastly the MV. That's just me. After I saw the GALZ Cypher, I went to their YT channel and pretty much watched everything. It took me a few weeks but since they are a newer group ,they didn't have as much stuff as the older men's groups. Good to see you with your own channel. Subscribed. 😀

I do agree with you. NJ tried but XG did it real proper. It doesn’t feel forced, it came natural to XG. If you watch any of their interviews, they are influenced heavily by R&B and hip hop and I’m here for it. They’re playing here in NYC on the 21st. Cannot wait to see them live

Based on western definition of their term "K-pop," it just means pop music from Korea. The meaning has nothing to do with the genre, the nationality of the group members nor where the music label originate. So XG is very K-pop as their label is based in Korea, train with K-pop disciples & methodologies while partially physically train in Korea and promotes in Korea as their main market since debut.

I don't know much about NewJeans but the members of XG are well versed in early 2000s and 90s boy/girl group concepts and music in general. One of the members said she hoped Left Right gave TLC vibes, I think that is why they seem more natural with it. The youngest members Maya and Cocona are seventeen so they're still young but I personally think that their innate talent + training is the reason why they're so good at such a young age.
They ARE pretty young... but it's so cool that they're so into throwback music. You can definitely see and hear the influence!
Yes, xg they trained for about 5 years and weren't told about old school hip-hop and r&b artists. Most of them grew up with hip hop music and r&b and rap. Like cocona been rapping since third 3rd grade and doing music, she refers herself as the hip hop maknae her inspiration was Lauryn hill. Maya also grew with tlc destiny's child Aaliyah and Boyz ll men. She loves silk sonic and they love disco music too. They said in a interview that those are their influences mostly poc artists growing up. They are a core hip-hop and r&b group. When they are on the road they listen to mostly hip hop and r&b mostly 90s and 2000s. Yes they said they did left right to be throw back to the late 90s and 2000s music videos

You can't go wrong with anything XG. But I found the best approach to get a sense of the members as individuals is to watch each individual XG Move #2 video first (named for each member: Jurin, Cocona, Maya, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria), the the rap line through XG Tape #2 GALZ XYPHER (Cocona, Maya, Harvey, Jurin), and vocal stylings through all three VOX videos. However, I would say hands down the best way to see the sheer skills, swag, personality as a team and synchronization of this entire group is to watch the "Fixed" version of the Dance Practice videos for all four Music Videos in order (Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star and Left Right).

You hit the nail with explaining what you feel about NewJeans, they don’t carry the soul of Hiphop and RnB like XG does. I had literally the same feeling about them, but I started with their XG #Moves, then the Cyphers the XG tapes, then Tippy toes, Mascara, Shooting Star and Left Right. Hard to choose between Shooting Star & Left Right, but with Left Right there is no other group that is able to give you that vibe and pull it off like they do it.
XG exudes everything I want from a girl group that is RnB and hiphop, they are not about riding on a trend. Also the XG members are on the level of a professional dance crew, especially JURIN and COCONA, but the difference with the remaining XG members are very small that it’s hard to see if you watch together.
Anyway sit back and relax with XG because you are going on exciting journey watching all of their content. There is no other existing group that is authentic like how XG is formed and what they represent 👏

I honestly believe XG and New Jeans had such a huge reaction is bc they’re so unique. They’re a breath of fresh air in an over saturated industry where you could take one groups songs give it to most other groups and not realise it wasn’t their own music. Also I just love watching XG perform bc they look like they’re having the time of their lives always.
YES! Both of those groups brought something so unique and different, which we NEEDED. I love all the other groups, but this new vibe from both groups is the best.
Also, I wanted to mention this when I did the XG Deep Dive, but even things like them having fun on stage... it's so intentional! In the Left Right dance practice, you see them smiling, laughing, being silly together and as much as I think that's natural, I also think it's something they're encouraged to REHEARSE and include in their practices. What you practice in the dance studio is what you perform on stage, and they make sure they give the energy the song requires, even in their practices! TOP LEVEL ARTISTRY!

I feel you girl so much!! Exactly how i reacted when i first watched their Cypher and XG Move #1-3..I was really blown away by how much talent they have from sing, dance and rap. They have so much swag and bad ass when they perform but when they start to talk, their cuteness just melt me out. Duality at its best and they are the Best out there amongst 4th gen IMO. Cypher for rap and XG move 1-3 i would recommend then chill Bill too.

The easiest way to get to know all of the members is watching the XG Move series (#1-#4). It's three group dances and each member's solo performance. I'd recommend watching them all at once and in order since it shows a wide variety of their dance styles and makes it easy to recognize each one of them. It helps that they're all super skilled dancers, so there's not like a weak link.

My sentiments exactly (8:40). They had me since Mascara. They're the kind of group that I've been ranting to myself about not really seeing. They're doing it even better than the k-pop girlies and I a pplaud and appreciate that from them. Yes, I do have my small handful of 4th gen girl groups that I love, but XG just hits so different. They're bringing their own thing to the table that nobody can touch. They ARE TALENT. They don't know what generic or basic is. They consistently give me unique choreo, unique bars, unique songs, facial expressions, gestures & poses; etc. So far, and I'm pretty sure going forward, I'm never gonna have to wonder if they're gonna give me something boring. I say boring as in: "I've heard these kind of switchups and drops, seen these dance moves, gestures, poses, & exact concepts all a million times before so&so came along and it makes me even more picky about who I listen to. Nowadays with the more groups that are pumped out, it's harder to find groups with their own color, and to be able find it early on in their careers too, which makes me all the more excited for XG's journey.
Edit: I see what you mean and agree about the NWJNS comparison. I'm a new jeans girlie as much as the next person, but though the concepts are on point, they do feel different. But regardless, like you said, they both deliver flawlessly. I haven't seen the concepts executed as amazingly as they've done it, and there have been a couple of attempts.
YES! I love a lot of k-pop but I do have to admit that so much of it feels really generic and repetitive. Entertainment companies are following a formula they know works, so it can feel really basic. But EVERYTHING about XG feels so fresh to me and I love it! Everything you mentioned, they just have their own way of being and I love it!

XG is my first girl group. I came into the Kpop world two years ago after seeing Stray Kids God's Menu and been "here" ever since. I tried to get into the girl groups and they just didn't grab me. XG caught me up with one video just like the men's groups that I like. To me they are more of a dance crew that can rap and sing. Their dancing so clean. I prefer to watch the performance video, then dance practice, then lastly the MV. That's just me. After I saw the GALZ Cypher, I went to their YT channel and pretty much watched everything. It took me a few weeks but since they are a newer group ,they didn't have as much stuff as the older men's groups. Good to see you with your own channel. Subscribed. 😀

I totally agree about your controversial part, i love NJ as well but XG is another level ( my love for XG is they are filling the space in my heart now, i went to see all of documentaries/ reality and never fell so in love with any other girl group like them) they are sooooooo genuine/ united / sincere , funny and so relatable like “they feel so real” front and behind camera.
