Like her reviewing style - no Clarkson type ridiculous comments, just plain solid information. She said nothing that would put me off the car and she's not obsessed with cup holders. Good job done.
Agree with most of what she said but its not a lagging, boring car to drive; quite the opposite if you've got the turbo diesel. I have a 6 month old white one and its a FANTASTIC car...very comfortable cruiser and rather exclusive. The only downside is what it cost me to buy (£25k)
I have the 2litre turbo petrol 180hp gtline one. It's pretty quick but very thirsty .I wouldn't agree with her about the handling even when the roof is down. It holds the road well for a cabriolet of its size. And as for the noise when the roof is down like she mentioned .I'd disagree again with her its no noisier than any other cabriolet with the roof down .
im interested in a 2011 automatic one of these done 73k ,is there anything i should be looking out for or common issues ,expensive repairs i should be concerned about ?

My partner has the predecessor to this model, a 2007 edition Cabriolet, if this one is anything like the last one, if your buying used you need to look out for the following..
Front ball joint wear, these are a weak point with the Megane (in ANY model, but worse on the cab because of the weight shift of the roof)
Rear window failure, this is usually because of dirty window rubber sills, they need cleaning regular or the water seeps in between the seals and frame causing the window TEMIC control modules to fail.
Rear brake pads, it eats them due to the extra weight of the roof motors, also check rear wheel bearings too.
Rear suspension. The Megane cab would benefit more from slightly lower, stiffer suspension than putting it on the same suspension as its hatchback counterpart. less nose in the air at the front when travelling with the roof down.
Also, AVOID the 1.9 Dci. They are prone to oil leaks/ Gearbox failures!
They are good cars to own though, we've had hers nearly 5 years and the worst parts we've had to replace is the complete roof rubber seals (which the rubber seals are NOT cheap to replace, dealership only for these I'm afraid.)

Actually the old Megane cabriolet (ca 2000 to 2010) looks striking in the flesh, much better than what you would think from the pictures. Is currently a second hand bargain

Horrible car, not sure what the reviewer has done wrong to deserve criticism for being harsh. She's a lot milder nowadays, and we can appreciate that. She'll do better with every review, and honestly, I see not much wrong at the moment.

It comes from the fact that with the roof up it becomes a coupe hardtop i guess.
Probably to do with the fact that it is actually a Coupé with a Converible roof..

Aside from the car (which I don't like) I find many of these comments regarding the reviewer distasteful. If you want to criticise her don't be so personal and use offensive language. As Doctor Johnson said, "it doesn't matter how rude you are as long as you're polite about it."

In the new convertibles with soft top it‘s nearly impossible to slash the roof, it‘s as secure as a hard top

I agree... I went down to the comments section to see what people thought about the car (more specifically to see if any Americans had commented on a car that doesn't exist over there), but instead all I see is a bunch of sexist and horny guys.

Who operates the roof of a convertible while it's in motion? I have to have my car completely stopped in order for it to work.

but you cant go very fast, 30mph is the top speed while doing that.

It looks so vulgar with the roof up. The 308cc & Golf cabriolet looks way nicer. You're better off getting the standard Megane or get the Megane RS

@@niksarass agreed you need to expect negatives when watching any review be it a car or a phone you take them with a pinch of salt as long as there is more positives than negatives but that's up to you as i always used to say its like watching the highlights its someone else's highlights so there could be loads of things you want to see and don't because the other person dint think it was worth adding so if you thinking of buying watch loads of reviews or at least a few to get a better idea of what the cars really like based on different peoples opinions and always remember that it is just that other people's opinions

roxoleto I've seen one and been in one and I have to say it's the best car I've ever been in, the comfort levels are fantastic and you get lots of equipment and you feel very safe in them. I find french cars much better than any other sort of car. There's a fresh comforting and safe feel about them.
