Great reaction and thanks for doing the Trilogy.
The Trilogy of Lights is the best way to close the Metal Galaxy album and by far the best part in my opinion.
Arguments, beliefs and unofficial dedications aside, the Trilogy is about the stages of grief. "Starlight" is about the initial stages: denial and anger. "Shine" is about the intermediates: bargaining and depression, also known as the inflection point. And, finally, "Arkadia", their glorious closer, is about acceptance, moving forward towards a brighter future.
"Arkadia" is one of my all time favorite songs. It's very "me" in so many aspects. Sometimes I think it should be my number one but I'm too biassed by two of their biggest hits. I'm so happy I got to see it live at my last BABYMETAL concert (I thought I would never get it).
    Until next time!

@@Aatish2k8 Only "Starlight" and "Arkadia" actually. "Shine" is even more rare statistically speaking, since it has been performed live only 8 times. "Arkadia" has been performed live 11 times. "Starlight" is more "normal" with 44 times.

Great treble reaction, thanks.🦊In your own time (no need for another reaction) I hope you will find the Legend M performance of 'Shine' where Moa played and danced so emotionally round the guitar and Su gave, arguably, her finest vocal performance to date.
You have all the explanations for why people interpret these songs as they do (the lyrics in 'Starlight', the guitar on stage in the Legend M performance of 'Shine' - as has been said in the comments below, these are not coincidental - to quote the Fox God: "Nothing happens by accident"🦊) and you got the meaning for yourself during 'Shine' anyway.🤘

You're absolutely right-though to my knowledge-never overtly acknowledged as the inspiration behind the song. The common understanding is it is most definitely about Mikio. He was an avid star gazer a fell from an observation tower. The guitar on stage is said to be either one of Mikio's or an exact replica. And the abundance of star imagery throughout this performance would seem to back up this conjecture. I really appreciate the honesty of your reactions. How you share your genuine emotions is so vastly preferred to the feigned enthusiasm that some reactors display. Don't feel the need to apologize. Anybody who really loves Babymetal can appreciate the emotional motivation of Babymetal. That is another one of their wonderful talents/gifts!

  • @Ganimal83
    @Ganimal83 Před 2 měsíci +12

Great reaction sir! Babymetal would be proud seeing how you pieced the meaning of the songs together without the lyrics. They always championed that music overcomes language and bounderies, and strives to deliver the message through the feel of the song and their choreography.
    *Brief on the lyrics:*
    Starlight - Grief and remembrance
    Shine - Remembrance and acceptance
Arkadia - Look to a hopeful tomorrow and a call to action to continue on the grand path towards one's goals/dreams/Arkadia (Utopia).
    *Real life context:*
Starlight was released Oct 2018, the same day Yui's departure was announced publically, along with her letter of explanation to the fans.
Mikio Fujioka, Kami Band Guitarist passed away Jan 2018 due to an accidental fall from an observation tower. He and Yui are both avid stargazers.
Babymetal has never officially confirmed nor denied these songs as a tribute, but Su has mentioned in interviews that she often thinks about how Yui would perform Starlight.
The lyrics in Starlight, "Stargazer; Where ever you are, you'll be in my heart; Where ever we are, we'll be with you", etc., and the guitar centerpiece in Shine is definitely not a coincidence, which led many fans to speculate that these are tributes.
    *Suggestions:*
*Yava! (Fox Festivals 2017):* Unique song with Kami Solos. You'll get to see Mikio on the guitars.
*Tales of the Destinies (Tokyo Dome 2016):* Insanely technical song, no idea how the girls danced to this. Also, you'll see some guitar solos with Mikio going ham.

"Wherever we are, we'll be with you
    We'll never forget shining starlight
Wherever you are, you live in my heart
    We'll never forget shooting star"
We believe that the Trilogy of Lights is a tribute to Yui, who had to leave the group for health reasons, and to guitarist Mikio, who accidentally fell to his death during an astronomical observation. This was a dark period for Babymetal, but it was also a time when Su and Moa strengthened their bond with each other. The strong light in their eyes will illuminate the path they must take in the future.

"Dont think feel." These are words Su said in an interview . when asked about people not understanding them and their music . Never a truer word said . She repeated it at the beginning of the show in a lore style intro it gave me goosebumps . As you probably spoted a complation video, the part during Shine when the guiter was there was from Legend M ( Moa's Birthday show ) . it was a good job you did not watch that in its entirety. It was done as a duo between Su and Moa, and saying emotional epic is an understatement and Su's vocals and Moa's courography was incredible surrgest if you get the chance watch it .
In Arkidia, Su sings, " No more tears, no more pain, no more cry," then went into the triumphant sounding part . At that point, you started smiling 😁 the power of BabyMetal 🤘🏼
    Excellent reaction 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Welcome back to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🌌
This Trilogy Of Lights is really something special.
It's a beautiful official set of three songs to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth.
You got the right order but with some live compilation, highly suggest to check a beautiful version of Shine live at Legend M 2019, that is when the clips shows MoaMetal playing the guitar.
BM fans took this set unofficially as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka (Kami Band guitarist) passed away and YuiMetal's withdrawal both sad events in 2018, she left the group with undisclosed health reasons, although as far as we know she's fine now and she said she wants to pursue her own dreams outside of BM project, so far we don't have anymore news from her except here and there but nothing official or in public, but she certainly won't be part of this project anymore since we already have a new official member filling the third spot for this new BM era. We all wish her the best and we'll always remember everything she has done for this group, our tomato princess.🍅❤
Keep enjoying more BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Well done and very perceptive of you.
Much of what I am going to state is speculation because Amuse (Babymetal production company) keeps things under wraps. However with that being said most believe that The Trilogy of Lights (especially my favorite Babymetal song - Shine) is indeed a tribute to Mikio Fukioka. The guitar on stage many believe is to honor Mikio.
This was a compilation video of the three songs performed at multiple venues edited to keep algorithms from blocking reactions. If you saw the actual first performance of Shine LIVE Moa can be seen "playing" the guitar (you see the guitar briefly in this compilation) I put parentheses around playing because it is believed that Moa pre-recorded her guitar playing and it was on backtrack during that performance (to this day it is my favorite performance of Shine LIVE) it is difficult to find but it is definitely worth watching.
Lastly it is believed that the Trilogy of Lights is also honoring Yui (who left on 2018)
    Until next time

    • @rah2287
      @rah2287 Před 2 měsíci +4

@@Aatish2k8 it is believed that both Starlight and Shine are for Mikio and Yui (and to a degree Arkadia as well). Supposedly Starlight represents a sense of loss and mourning, Shine a sense of anger at the loss while Arkadia is coming to grips with the loss and moving on but never forgetting the impact of that life on your own.

Officially and unofficially, meaning no one connected to the group in any way directly or indirectly has ever once mentioned Starlight to be a tribute to anyone. Fan's have theories but there is utterly nothing from the group confirm a single theory. Babymetal explained the meaning behind each song in the trilogy, sadly many fans want to ignore it. I common trend in the BM fandom culture like how the the cancerous Yuicultists refused to accept what Babymetal have said in public statements. Selfish delusions for things to be what people want them to be and not what they are, is a common issue with the western fan base for Babymetal.

@@road-runner the Yuicultists where nothing but a cancer. The fandom became infected with them in 2018, They were toxic pathetic self-centered delusional individuals who would rather see the group die then go on without Yui. The fandom is much better now that they are gone.

@@JudgementalElitist Moa didn't play the guitar for Starlight. Maybe you should be a better fan and not confuse yourself on songs. Babymetal explained the Trilogy of light and their meaning. Just because it doesn't meet your selfish self-centered idea of what Starlight means doesn't mean you have to get upset about. Just face the facts.
