When you quit a hellish call center, you feel like a human being again. The skies open and you are capable of feeling hope and happiness again. Never again i'm working with those psychopaths.

When I gave my notice, I actually lied and said "I got a job at another Bank" (Hoping they would walk me out! ) that is how bad it was! No luck, but on my last day when I walked out it was like walking out of a dark room into the light...heaven..angels singing.

I got fired a few months ago from the call center I worked at for years. I had a mental breakdown and couldn’t take it anymore. Even though I’m struggling financially right now, I’m relieved to be out of that hellhole. Your videos have been like therapy for me. I’m back in college and I’m studying accounting while I’m looking for a new job. Thank you PTPOP.

I’m going to be honest. After 16 years I went on leave and didn’t go back. I was relieved when they fired me but at the same time I was scared to death. Like an abused brainwashed victim afraid to leave their abuser. I didn’t think I could get another job that paid what I was making w/ the benefits. I was totally brainwashed and that’s what a call center job is like. It’s like being in a demented relationship where you’re being used and abused by a narcissistic sociopath (the company). It’s a mental fuck. It took me a year of finishing school and finally being free of that place to realize there are other jobs out there! I work for a good company now and there’s no abuse! I seriously think that place gave me PTSD but I’m better now! I drive past that place from time to time and still get a dreaded feeling. That place still gives me the creeps lol.

I just recently walked out of a call centre job, I only lasted 2 months and the weight that was lifted off my shoulders was incredible. I now have a job interview for an apprenticeship at a data recycling company next Thursday; so wish me luck 😊.

I’ve had it with metrics, the micromanagement, the one on one meetings, the audits, the “you need to stop using away from desk” for my bathroom breaks. I have PTO that I have not used and today I put in my pto to be off next week and then I’ll quit once my time off is up. I cannot wait 🤩🤩🤩🤩

I can't wait to get out of call centers. I have decided to go back to school for my Masters in Accounting. Once I graduate, I will practically CARTWHEEL out of there.
I'm a writer as well, but haven't finished a book yet lol. Once I do, how do I get published? And isn't it crazy that we creative types tend to get stuck in mundane work such as call centers?

  • @BigMommyMilkies

Literally the only thing that motivated me to stay at my call center job was the understanding that I would quit it within 4 months of getting hired.
It was easily the worst experience of my life and I've worked at a zoo job where I had to literally sweep up gorilla shit. Everyone was literally retarded. I have a real college education that I paid close to a hundred thousand dollars for and they had the nerve after 6 fucking weeks of training and "agent/customer roleplaying" to hold a mock "graduation" and give everyone diplomas for graduating "Comcast University." I'm fairly certain 75% of the people who were in training with me probably thought it was a real degree and will put it on their resumes going forward, and as a matter of fact a bunch of them were saying they wanted to buy frames for it.
That's not the saddest thing I've seen though. As soon as I went into the breakroom and saw two coworkers, heavyset 45 year old women making macaroni art on paper plates with Elmers Glue like a bunch of fucking 6 year olds I knew that I couldn't tell anyone that this was a place I was working at.
The day I woke up on my bed after quitting was the most euphoric feeling in my life. No more retards calling me wondering why they can't connect to their home wifi when they are "out of state", no more dumbfucks taking a loud shit while they are talking to me, no more people calling to complain that the wifi signal is magically damaging their brain which they seem to be under the impression wasn't already severely damaged before they ever had any type of internet. If given the choice between trying to sell used condoms I find on the street for 2 cents a pop or working for a call center again, you'll find me on the street with my trusty picker upper and a bag.

I got let go of (fired 🙄 lol) from my call center job after 2 months of working there, they told me "you are not the right fit for the call center environment" I was shocked because I was making more incentives than the rest of my coworkers and I knew I didn't do nothing wrong to be fired for, but I guess my supervisor was able to sense my "I wanna fucking kill myself every morning on my way here so I don't have to come to this hell hole one more day" vibe... lol long story short I cried my eyes out on my way out because in my mind I was thinking of how I was gonna pay my bills but by the next days when I woke up I felt so free, so alive, so happy, so relieved and now it's been 12 days since I was fired and I've never felt so much better in my life 😆😆😆😆

I remember when I quit my call center job. It was the most euphoric feeling that I ever had.
It's like getting out of prison, literally.
I took a deep and long breath and experienced "something" that I never had since highschool. FREEDOM
Knowing that I don't have to talk to one of those unreasonable motherfuckers ever again.
But mostly importantly, I don't have to wake up at 2 in the morning to go to that God forsaken place. I can sleep like a normal fucking human being.
Unfortunately though, I acquired depression and nicotine addiction which doesn't seem to go away. If someone can help me (even just with my nicotine addiction), I would be eternally grateful.

I left my call center job in June. It was my first job out of college, and I only lasted 6 months. Not only was the call center itself hell, but I had an emotionally abusive boss who merged our call center with another, and expected us to take calls on the day of the merger with zero training, in a field none of us were familiar in.
Your videos helped me make it through! I'm now a teacher, and even though it's more stressful, it is not soul-sucking work. Thank you for your funny and helpful content! Keep shining a light on how awful these places are.

Man I so sympathize. I found myself trapped in call center web and the negativity seething through kept me from successfully getting another job. But I did invest in multiple certifications to improve myself-including the PMP. I got out, volunteered, acquiring new skills (LinkedIn Learning is Great)... It took a lot of work but I adapted to today’s job market-what’s stopping you from developing skills employers require-it’s great you can do music & write a book, but if that’s it-all you will find are jobs in call centers

When I quit my call center job my direct supervisor wasn't in the office, so I went to the call center manager to resign. The director, the call center manager and another manager were all present there. The director is 1 level above the call center manager and is based in another state but just happened to be in our center for some meetings. Several months ago he had given a speech about how the company was going to have to tighten it's belt and we were really going to have to give our all and outperform the outsourced agents. He said the only difference between us right then was the "perception" that the customer would rather speak to an American. I was really upset after that meeting and I was dead set on getting out of there. Finally, with the director present, I was able to quit and let him know I was going to another company unrelated to the telecom business and not going to be taking calls. It felt really great.

Thank you for this video. I just got recently fired from a call center because I was having health issues and they weren't being very understanding of that even though I informed them. In fact, they only listed unacceptable attendance as the reason for letting me go. Isn't that crazy?? I am under so much less stress now and I feel very liberated. The job was making my health issues worse and affecting my mental health but I still made it a little over 6 months so I'm proud of myself for that. I am hoping I can find something else though. I was looking for other jobs before I was let go but didn't find the right one. Wish me luck! Oh and I'm commenting before I even finish this, but you're already explaining what it is like. You are always so accurate.

I just quit my call center job last month. It was like a weight had been lifted. The retailer I worked for had a purpose at the time and that purpose was served. I hope I don’t ever have to work a call center again. Btw, are still taking survivor stories submissions?

My recollections weren't so rosy. When the building closed, they posted pictures on a wall of people who worked there during the years. The pictures were bad, and most of the people shown were already gone (or dead). The company they left piles of office equipment on tables for the taking. Ugly plastic pencil holders, paper trays with dust all over them, and lots of army green file folders. I mean, who wants this crap? What's more depressing, lots of people working there for years with nothing to show for it.
