2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260 First Ride. My first ride on an adventure bike! What an experience :) My social media ; www.faceboook.com/motonewbrider / motonewbrider www.youtube.com
I like your easy going review style. I bought a Multistrada 3 mos ago. I can see that your seat is missing the large plastic spacer, that mounts between the seat and the frame of the bike. I guess Ducati doesn't factory install it; they didn't on mine either, as it does raise the seat up a small bit (shorter stance for sales?). IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE in comfort. I put the first 500 miles on my Duc, happy, but squashing my family jewels the whole time. I thought it was going to be a matter of getting used to. Out of curiosity I installed the spacer (they should hand it to you before you leave the dealership), and voila...perfect! The spacer changes the way you sit on the bike for Touring, very much for the better. I'm not very tall, 5' 9" or 175cm, and initally thought it the spacer was just going to raise the seat up too high, but like I said, it actually changes your seating position more than height. I can still flat foot while sitting. I rode comfortably from California through the Rockies and the Appalachian mountains; e.g. a few thousand miles at avg 600 miles /1000 km per day. Extremely satisfied with the bike. Cheers!
The S with Skyhook is better, the handling and ride are excellent. I totally agree about the seat, I changed mine for a Corbin and it's a massive improvement, 200/300 mile days with no problem. I took mine on a 2000 mile trip to Spain this year and it was fantastic. Reliability has not been an issue I've done 14,000 miles on mine and it hasn't missed a beat. Fuel economy is also good. As far as running costs go, if you properly compare the Multi with it's 9000 mile service intervals against many other bikes with 6000 mile intervals the overall costs on servicing worked out over a 3 year period are actually very similar. It's a popular misconception that modern Ducati's are expensive to run or for that matter unreliable. The build quality is superb too. My 1260s is far and away the best bike I have ever owned.
Hi, loving all your reviews. (Especially the HD ones). Agree with all your comments on the 1260. Currently have a Mutley 1200S DVT and the seat angle is better when it’s in the higher option, plus gives a tad more room to the pegs! Looking to add a HD Sport Glide to the stable😀
I love the new reviews I have always been a huge fan of Adventure Bikes, you should check the KTM and BMW compared to the Ducati! Thanks for the Review!
Bikes with rear set foot controls you mostly have to shuffle forward on the seat almost resting your balls on the tank. Also helps if you squeeze knees together when you decide to ride more aggressive to stop sliding around or hopping up out of seat on bumpy roads. You won’t burn your legs as you would on your Harley
Very interesting to hear your thoughts on the multi now you’ve ridden the diavel. Which of the two would you choose and if I threw in the fat bob what would be your selection then. Regards John
Great review. Hope you do more from different manufactures. Did the dealership have any other seat options available from Ducati or are you stuck with only one seat option from the factory?
3:44 My 2015 MTS/S has the same issue...makes it very uncomfortable on the boys... 😖 I purchassd an Airhawk seat cushion as stock seats get hard very quickly. The Airhawk solved the 'sliding forward' issue. Place the front of the Airhawk right by the tank... in this position, the rider will not slide forward.
I like it a lot. I think the seating position makes more sense if you're more of a sports rider. I've been very tempted to trade my FXDLS in on a Multistrada or Hyermotard.
Mark, seeing how you are expanding the bikes you ride (which I support) might you be able to directly compare the bike to the best Harley you have ever ridden? Which feels better and the like?
Is it still chain driven? BMW tourers or ADV tourers win for me, based on shaft drive and bang for the buck, compared to Ducati. Still bloody expensive but I've loved my GS and Harley Sportster stable as 2 different but capable bikes. Thinking now of looking at the new BMW RS. Be great to see you review that!!
OK my friend now that you're doing Italians time to get your ass on a Guzzi. Almost 100 years of production! First V7 III then my V9 Bobber, then an Eldorado or Audace!!! Finally the V85 TT.
I would take the bmw R1250GS much more comfortable good power all the electric toys up and down quick shifter it's best all rounder in the world at the moment
I'd roll with a Guzzi V85tt. Not as much flare but with shaft drive it'll probably get you there more comfortably, less stressed without any demerit points.
its not an adventure bike really, its a sports touring capable of some gritty roads. Ducati thinks its an adventure bike and markets it, i had the 1200 its not a adventure bike you cant even do too many big tours with it. And my god did they give you standard multi for a video shoot :D for god sake :D i already like the dealer ( NOT)

Done a few of these. Nice looking bikes!

Hey Newb, any chance of reviewing a Triumph retro (bonneville, bobber etc) I would love to hear your opinion on them. Keep up the great reviews 👍
You definitely should have test rode the S model, the electronic suspension is pretty special

Kyle Frye agreed to you.
Should review the KTM 1050 or 1290.
Anyway, nice review buddy.

Thanks for review... I have a Tracer Gt... would love to get one of these? Is it worth the difference?

There are aftermarket options. Ducati do a so called comfort seat which is slightly better.

My 1260 pikes peak is epic ,my second ducati and im sold ,test ride one you will want it lol
please stop saying its an adventure bike is not, did you ride to 1200 before it would have been nice to hear thoughts in between 1260 and 1200 multi.
Did you not like the seat mate?! 🙄
Be good to see the comparison with a BMW Touring.
Prefer the Desert Sled to the Ducati GS 😉
To Europe no prob
Kinda sucks being a bike meant for distance riding has a seat so uncomfortable . Would like your take on a BMW R1250GS or GSA.
Aaron Ross check out our FB. 😉

I wish people would stop calling the MS an Adventure bike....its not....anything rougher that a bit of gravel and the MS would be out of its depth.
Nice bike but everyone sells them just before the belts need replacing. And that seat looks awful and uncomfortable.

first
3 palm cam in this video almost an abuse. Also so overplayed on youtube.
Second
