I do have an überleben ferrocerium rod and am happy with it. Good size, works well and the striker that came with it works really good with it.

When it comes to the knives, I am plenty happy with what I'm using! I have my smaller knife (always on my belt in the woods) and it is the _Morakniv Companion._ I have a bigger knife for my belt which is the Schrade SCHF37. Then there's my big knife, mostly for chopping, which is the Schrade SCHF45. I been using the SCHF45 for splitting my logs for a while, instead of an axe or hatchet. Not so good if the log gets _very_ hard sitting in the weather a long time or if the log is _very_ wide. Better using an axe for that.

Thank you! I actually just went and bought a copy of that book from Barnes and Nobles. Don’t buy the ones from amazon. There is a lot of printing issues with those books like the last line of every page is cut off.
