I agree about Lysander he was my favorite point of view in this book. A lot of people seem to hate him but I think him and Darrow are very similar in that they fight for what they think is right and just (even though they might be wrong about it) and are willing to sacrifice part of their lives and morals or even their family to achieve it. So far I think Darrow is heading to a darker path than Lysander since he seems to be unable to view the other's side point of view and ultimately thinks their only redemption is annihilation whereas Lysander is able to see virtue in even Darrow and all his enemies and also see how the Golds and Octavia failed the Society in the past and even though he killed Alexandar he gave him the chance to yield and not die. Atlas is another very interesting character and I hope we get to see more of him in the next book.
Thank you for bringing all my favourite memories back of this book. I needed this. It's my favourite book of my favourite series and I love it with my whole heart. I love what Pierce Brown does with this series. So many stories (especially dystopies) about rebellion end with the old government going down and our heroes at the top. But this story is so much about what happens after the rebellion and the question whether this new world is truly the best. I love how he now shows us the perspective of different characters in such different positions. It takes the whole story to a whole different level. The ment when I first realized that this book would be my favourite book of 2019 and my fave book in the series, was actually the moment when all went down in the senate. It was pure chaos and it had such a tragical and almost apocalyptic feeling to it. I loved how you defended Lysander. I saw so many people wanting to kill him and absolutely hating him So your opinion felt very fresh to me. I see his arc very much as a corruption arc and I love it - there are so little out there and his is very reasonable and well done. I'm dying to read the last book but also hella afraid because there is no way to predict the ending. I can actually see Pierce Brown dare to kill Darrow and Lysander ending on top or kill Sevro - and that is kinda scary😅 Anyways, love you, love your videos, have a great day💕

I burst out laughing when you said you weren't sure if you were supposed to like Lysander. Even child-Lysander, with his limited page time, was among my favorite characters after finishing the first trilogy. When it was announced that the second trilogy would have POVs from "a character we'd already met" I was hoping it would be him, and was so happy when it turned out to be true. I still love him even despite all his stupid decisions, but I giggled hysterically when his face got melted in Dark Age, because I have to admit, he does deserve it! I felt so bad for him being forced to marry Atalantia at the end though. So basically, I'm always torn between loving and hating him. I only discovered the online-fandom a while after finishing Dark Age, and was caught somewhat off-guard by all the Lysander hate. All those long essays people write about hating him, just propelled him from being "one of my favorites" to being my "number one favorite character." (He unseated Adrius from that position.) I figure, if a character can get such passionate reactions out of people, it's gotta be a great character, right? I loved Sevro during the original trilogy, but strangely, I can't find any of that love anymore. I can't even put my finger on why that is. I reread Red Rising and Golden Son, and on my reread, I still felt kind of "meh" about Sevro. I remember loving him so much, but I just lost all those feelings somewhere along the way.
The characters in dark age sound amazing! I will have to look it up, I’m trying to put together a TBR for the Biblio games, so I’ll look into it more and see if I can make my list. Also, I love your bow, it looks super cute on you. 😋 Nice touch👍🏻
Loved this book too. Iron Gold was hard to get involved in but DarK Age had me in the world for weeks later. That's great writing. It also had me rereading the whole series again...

Just finished this goliath. This behemoth, titanic, gargantuan beast of a novel. Holy shit Pierce Brown is a master craftsman of a storyteller. This series is a masterpiece. It definitely earns the title Dark Age. As a veteran Abercrombie reader and a fan of grimdark in general, this is easily the most hardcore, brutal book I've ever read. And I loved it so much!

Book was hype. The epic speeches and military acumen made me really stoked. And mustang is amazing.
