Part of my job is sorting through money and removing damaged bills (to be sent to somewhere else to be destroyed). Since my country changed to plastic bills, dealing with cash is infinitely better. Handling plastic is so much better than dealing with the "paper" style bills. Many old people prefer the paper, complaining that the plastic sticks to each other and rips easily. And as someone who physically touches thousands of dollars per shift, I can assure you plastic has my preference.

"Polymer banknotes last significantly longer than paper notes, causing a decrease in environmental impact and a reduced cost of production and replacement".
