- It's been nine years since Cody's grandfather passed away, and Cody was blessed to receive his 1970 Bear Archery Takedown recurve. After letting this bow hang on display for so long Cody feels God telling him it's time to bring it back to life. In the end the Lord brings something very special to light as Cody remembers the one lesson he knows his grandfather would want him to know.

I have the same bow your lucky to have one as I am good video that’s hunting and being in nature it some how puts your live in perspective especially a sense of missing your family and the thought of the love you’ll get when you return with or without the reward

You should give a Flemish Twist string a try. It will quiet your bow up a lot more. Also, Shatterproof Archery just came out with their Invincible (Flemish) Bowstring. I am picking one up for my Kodiak
I'll have to check one out. Guy that build the string I have builds them just like bear used to back in the day. Biggest reason I went with it.
@codybutlerhunt that is the nice thing about trad bows. Strings are cheap and easy to change. Plus, it is always wise to keep a backup or two.

Great video. Only suggestion that I would make is to try a Jake decoy. it made a huge difference in the birds that committed to the decoys. I think most birds are intimidated by the gobbler decoy.
Absolutely! I've used Jake decoys in the past as well and had success. However the year before I didn't have as much success with it so was trying the strutter.

Well being as though God created every animal clean and unclean game and non game it has everything to do with God. For without God we ourselves wouldn't be here nor the magnificent beasts and birds of the sky nor stick or string nor sunrise or sunset. He created the animals the migration the trials in our lives and the rise and fall. They say the only stupid question is the ones that aren't asked but there are always exceptions. If you can't see God in the iridescent shine of a gobbler or in the flight of that arrow I have no idea where you'd find him but I pray he opens your eyes to the blessings of this world and shows mercy and on you for being so ignorant of your surroundings and ungrateful for the world he created for us and I hope he shows understanding for my lack of patience for certain people in this world.
