I didn't expect this video to get so many views so I'd like to give credit where it's due and break the sad news that this is not real and not something you can accomplish in Cyberpunk. I was messing around with a mod and found a way back into Konpeki Plaza, as well as a way back into Yorinobu's suite, so I thought this would be a fun video to make. The game DOESN'T have to end there. Jackie can become a recruitable follower. You can do all the Fixer mish's, and be a LIVING Night City legend. I always felt relying on the miserable and sour "You gotta die to be big." trope was just a cover for lack of creativity.

@@manashield64 as much as Rebecca is a crazy little psycho, she was completely lovable and probably one of the more genuinely believable characters in video games. you keep wanting for things to work out for her but that doesn't get around the fact that in night City there are no happy endings
Games should start implementing things like this as an alternative option for skilled or daring players. Be a really cool way to progress the story instead of having to do A instead of B.
Would have been nice if they let you save jackie, but the character development is real after the big man goes down. That car scene was rough when I first played it.
I disagree. Kinda glad things happened how they did. Happy ever afters, fan service, Hollywood endings or outcomes are prevalent in 99.99999% of the other games out there (so there's plenty of games that cater to this mentality), and we get a handful that go against the grain and folk complain. I mean, Jackie was ace, but not everything should always be rosy and within our control.
I have a theory that the original story was that Jackie was uploaded to the relic and then downloaded to V before they decided to change that with Johnny.
@@AnCapGamer an actual challenging ai? Could just be like a army of ai or maybe like a tank with actual attack patterns that take skill to dodge and fight. Na cyberpunk doesnt do that you right normal yelling roboman that takes like 10 hits with fist to kill.

Wouldn't be any point to it. If jacky doesn't get killed, we don't use the bioship. If jonny isn't in our head, the rest of the game doesn't happen. Sometime, something bad must happen for something good to also happen. Take start wars for exemple. Take away the bad guys (the sith) and all that could still happen are the senat politics borring parts. Take away yorinobu and the whole game is gone past the sandra dorset mission. Dex deshawn wouldn't even have a job for us. Jacky's death is just as crucial to the story, otherwise nothing interesting would happened past the heist. Therefore, us having no way to save jacky is in no way a missed opportunity. In fact, it created a massive chain of events which each added many opportunity. This is way better. ^-^

@@TeeStache that's the thing. You can't know. It's like a kid at school hating his teacher and whishing for that teacher to be substitued permanently. The new teacher may be better at his job just like pure nigthmare to deal with. In other words, take these 2 sayings into account. Be careful what you wish for. Why change the winning recipe. Changing the game for "this" scenario to happen, could make anything happening afterward a really boring story. The story (from point of view) isn't perfect, but far better and enjoyable then it could have been. Also, Changing this scene with a new game + for the event to have a possibility to end this way would add tons of bugs related to the substitute story. Years have passed and still there's tons of bugs. Think of the amount that would be added by such a huge change in the game. More then 75% of the game would be changed. Migth as well create an all new game, if so much need to be changed.And for so many bugs being added (with even more coming with the dlc), I'm pretty sure some of them would still exist for years, if not for life. The frustration caused by those bugs would surely outmatche the "not so sure" enjoyment of the alternate scenario that would be created. So, yup. Jacky's death, no matter how sad it is, is duely important for the game's story. Without that sad moment, the amazing parts couldn't exists. The romance, the revange over smasher, silverhand having a 2nd chance at live and making it up for his mistakes, etc. ^-^

Honestly a secret ending where you and Jackie make off with tons of Eds and go off to live a lavish life style would be a cute decision. I'd imagine the ending scene would be him and V chilling in a hot tub drinking Martinez.

While i'd love a secret Heist completion without Jackie's death, background details imply even if the heist was a success that the eddies would NEVER make their way to Evelyn, and by proxy Dex and the crew.
@@GameBang666 Which is hilarious because Dex is made out to be the Fixer's Fixer. The kind of guy rivalled only by Rogue. And yet he was the kind of idiot who was willing to make a deal without getting the payment up front. Meanwhile other Fixers [like Rogue, as we find out in dialogue during the Panam recruitment quest after Nash bites the dust] get paid upfront and contract the job out to Mercs, so whether or not the deal works out, they've been paid.
I mean, a big DLC is in the works so changes might come, but I guess Jackie will stay dead - he appears in Death Stranding of all games, you can collect shards of his personality to restore him after which he says he has no idea how he appeared there and he has to return.
I mean, it COULD BE an option, but the game's more than beatable without any chrome (except for your eyes which is mandatory). If normal people like blue collars can live normally with just augmented eyes, V would not succumb to it either.

I wish this was in the game! The actual fight would have to be brutally difficult of course (and since you only have Yori's gun and whatever you can craft it would be), but it'd be sooo cool to have a hidden good ending!
You can have the Satori as well here. If you grind all of the Gigs and NCPD hustles before you do the Heist you basically walk out once you go grab Satori. :)
Would be neat if they did something like Adam and Takemura are always double your current level and XP is capped at a certain point so you can only unlock so many skills at this stage. I'd probably also make it so they 2 shot you so you can't afford to take more than a single hit. Make it real nasty, also give Jacky HP so you have to protect him too. Also make it similar to Don't Fear the Reaper where you have to do it all in one go, no saves. Then give a cool unique cutscene and roll credits.
Would be sick if we got a New Game+ option with this as a secret/alternative option to do the story differently. Doing this would mean that Jackie doesn't die, as well as V. So no need for Johnny to save V anymore. They could make almost an entirely new campaign out of it.
But it would be really a crazy ass campaign. V and Jackie, 2 random nobodies, killed Adam Smasher and Takemura and retrieved the Relic from Konpeki Plaza. You retrieve the Relic and chooses between keeping it in your head and fight against the whole world or give to Evelyn Parker and get rich as hell
If CDPR would release a workable Creation Kit there could easily be mods like this. From the story perspective, ALL the other mish's you get from fixers can happen. Do enough of them, get enough eddies and reputation, I can easily seeing Rouge saying she is going to retire and gifts you the Afterlife. I am sure they could find other ways to introduce Panam and Judy that DON'T have to do with you ... well, I'll just say going with the CDPR endings, that work. It's all fun storytelling at that point, of which there are TONS of clever folks who could do that. And guess what CDPR? You get a game that stands the test of time like Skyrim and Fallout 4 JUST cuz clever modders made it happen. Oh yeah, AND you make a game that people STILL buy and play ELEVEN years after release.
It's not just about releasing it bro. It's skyrim's game engine itself that was built to be easily moddable. And don't forget it's SKSE that allowed scripting mods in skyrim which was made by modders.
@@zymethamp6596 True, but some folks have already modded Witcher 3 with a new quest(s), so it CAN be done. And, since in the earnings report (2 back I think) CDPR said they hired modders onto the payroll. If not to add that level of functionality, then why?
Don't worry... With the ESG foundation, we will never have a decent game again. Not even modders will be able to save the games coming out in the future.
@@Xanthro2 I had to look that up. And wow. I think it will hurt timelines to release more so than quality. Well, if they only touch the business part that is (hours, payroll, nice work environment, etc) that is. Sadly this type of governance sometimes does dip into making moral statements that can affect quality.
killing jackie so early in the game was one of the most stupid mistakes CDPR did with cyberpunk's story. especially since they really threw away all that could have been a lengthy intro with multiple quests and effing around, by making it a short cutscene only to be concluded by a boring "a few months later" or something. really a missed opportunity there, but I guess the featured V/Silverhand duo needed that no secondary character would stand in the way...
I really wish we got more Jackie. He’s such a fun character and I wanted more of his dumb puns and ploys before the chip. Like it’d be fun having him as a mission companion for the first half of the game, then getting killed off in the mission and replaced with Johnny as your partner in crime. They don’t even have to change how the story went, just add more missions with, or about Jackie. Like I don’t even mind shit where after his death you go and get something from the Valentina’s that was Jackie’s that they wanna give back after his death
I fully believe that if you do all the side jobs in the first area you’re strong enough to kill smasher when you meet him. Between 4 ripperdocs worth of implants and gigs/ncpd jobs getting you to lvl 20 easy, it wouldn’t even be hard. They did smasher dirty tbh, should be way harder
Can actually confirm, did all hustles and gigs prior to smasher and was around said level. Proceeded on different save to rush story, and again was at roughly the same level. It's not easy, or even really hard tbh. Totally doable especially if you have optical camo, quickhacks, and whatnot to stealth the fight, which would be far more fun in the tiny suite space than it is inside the Mikoshi datafort.

After having been through several of the endings, what I want now is just the ability to start a new character and play the game without the main quest.

I wish there was some secret ending if you did this, similarly to the secret ending of FarCry 4. You do something that you would not have thought of doing and you get rewarded with some cool easter egg. The "secret ending" that CP2077 has right now has nothing secret about it - you just have to sit still next to Jonny for 5 minutes and the ending itself feels like it should be one of the readily available options. But if you jumped out of the glass pillar, shanked both Smasher and Takemura, which would be insanely difficult at that stage of the game, and fought your way out of Konpeki Plaza... Now THAT'S a secret ending material!
It would’ve been CRAZY if they made like, a whole different secret game that you could unlock by doing this and then your story mission would be to try and save Jackie from Johnny (if Jackie still ended up with the chip in his head from this point)
It wouldn't even have to happen as it's V's death that activated Johnny's construct (and actually saved their life at this time). So if the chip doesn't get damaged and its host doesn't die, they could just deliver the chip to Dex, get paid and become a living legend for killing the corpos formerly living legend.

Like you titts upped the mission and lost your net runner, but you killed 3 massive names in the city (one significently less so) and succeded in kleping what you were sent to steal. Congrats your the most wanted legends in the city, the only thing keeping you from being parihas is that your somehow bad ass enough to unfuck even an adam smasher event. So canon but more succesfull and EVERYONE is terrified of the two of you. Plus side you would be getting better missions from rouge. Also the plot would kick back in after eve getts fried by the voodo boys for back stabbing them, with you getting brought in by judy to help find her, then following the clues to figure out just what the chip is and why people even want it.
I've always been interested in two different ideas in C2077. One being if V NEVER took the Relic job to start with, as they state to Panam "there are other fixers, other gigs". The more interesting one being if the Heist either went as planned or a significantly leveled/skilled V would be allowed to at least take a crack at smasher. On my first run I did ALL the NCPD and Regina gigs before hitting Konpeki and was about lv 25 give or take a few. That's more than enough to take on Smasher given I later tried the fight around that level on a different save. Also I often imagine an actually challenging smasher fight lmao.
I played through the game almost entirely blind, had no idea what the game was about. Jackie getting badly wounded came out of nowhere and hit like a fuckin train. With how many Maxdocs I had on hand, I was really hoping they'd let me give him one of them. Unfortunately that wasn't an option. I had to sit there with several, several healing items as I watched him bleed out and die. I sat there for 10 minutes after arriving at the place I needed to be wondering what to do next. Eventually I figured if I couldn't save him myself, Dr. Vic wouldn't be capable either, so I sent him home.
@@edwinworsech3543 chip wouldn't have done anything to him *until* he died. the only point in which V gets issues with the chip is when he undergoes a lead-induced lobotomy
I think it would be really neat if they had this as a secret alternative to playing the mission normally, the only difference being the case gets damaged during the fight, V pops in their head, Smasher offs Jackie, V escapes out the window as normal and the rest plays out. At the end of the game when you kill Smasher, you'd get a new voiceline to say which would just be "This is for Jackie".
This would be actually really awesome if this could be an option but that would mean the story would be completely different and the game would be massive in terms of missions, people you encounter, maybe even new locations and probably would find a way for Johnny’s engram to exist outside of V. But then that would mean that all the implants V gets, increases the chances of Psychosis, making him go more in a berserk mode, making the game harder. Definitely would change things but still would be pretty cool.
-Dex hears who you took out, decides he won't risk death, pays but demands never to see you and Jackie again. -Jackie and V leave for somewhere Arasaka has little influence for a while, partying it up. -Arasaka doesn't splinter as much as it would have (everyone siding with sister this time), but is shaken up with loss of Saburo -- until he can get a proper clone or "naturally grown from the family farm" meat puppet to put him back on Earth. -The Voodoo Boys bring about the end of civilization a month later because they got their hands on the chip, kill Evelyn still, and open the floodgates to rogue AIs as V wasn't around to stop them from brokering a deal with the things or along with Johnny convincing Alt there was an alternative worth its interest. Plus, the VBs would've found a way to storm the mall fort to kill the Netwatch guy (nothing a truck bomb or hijacked kamikaze shuttle couldn't fix).
one problem with that last part. The VDB can NOT save Brigitte with such tactics, they literally NEEDED V for the GIM job so they could free Brigitte and Ti Neptune. If they had stormed the facility the first thing Mosley would do is take Brigitte and Ti off life support thus the need for stealth. Nobody but Brigitte and the highest ranking VD chiefs would even know the purpose of the Relic in regards to their larger plans (Placide, her lieutenant, doesn't even really have faith in the plan, nor know what the biochip LOOKS LIKE.) Without their leadership they NEVER pierce the Blackwall.
There's a scene in the original Deus Ex where you can save JC's brother if you fight what looks like an impossible battle. But, yeah, it would make the last 80% of the game completely different.
Ahh, good memories. I put all the furniture in the apartment in front of the door. Most of it got wrecked when the first MIB exploded, but it took out all the other enemies as well. Too bad Paul wouldn't run after that.
@@rad636 And if you don't go back, he dies. (Since there is no prompt to save him, a lot of people had him die in their games.) But you never see his body/corpse, AFAIK.
I know that is your opinion, but objectively, Takemura never friended you, he only saw you as business. You can have your opinion, but it is objective that he doesn't see you as friend. Johnny states it multiple times, so does Takemura.
This would be a cool mod for players who don’t wanna have to go through the entire campaign, so they can get super stacked before this mission then just kill smasher, maybe Jackie could still die and there would be alternate ways to get the iconics, etc. but it would save time for repeat play throughs
Its a real shame you don't get to go through more of the game with Jackie. Rare to find and NPC that you really enjoy, and to lose him so early hurts even more. I hope in next game they can recreate this same kind of chemistry with another character, and we get at least half of the story with them before loosing them. Or even better there be a way to get them through, maybe harder path, but if you do complete it you save that NPC.
Could still have it get damaged whilst you escape. It’d be interesting if they send oda after you instead in the graveyard and have some interesting dialogue with Johnny if this happened. Just because you kill smasher and takamura doesn’t mean the relic couldn’t get damaged by you getting blown off the roof
No not really. You could walk away and get paid just like any other job. I mean, there wouldn't really be a story but that's ok. You can still roam NC and do the rest of the content.
@@C1umsyJester thing is, V doesn't have the Relic at this point, Jackie does. He gives it to V while dying in the car. So if Jackie survives either he gets all the problems with Johnny taking over his mind, or nothing happens and the job gets done.

Since jackie doesn't exactly die with the relics engram in him (He doesn't need to assuming V put it in his head) You could feasibly just say since its a prototype, its begun to overwrite his brain.

Unfortunately, that means neither you nor Jackie can show your faces in Night City again, since EVERYONE who is anyone is going to be gunning for you, be it Arisaka for revenge or any dumb punk who decides to make a name for themselves. True, but the ncpd are more likely to look away, because adam smasher terrified them, and you put him 6 feet under. Also yorinobu has to change his story HARD because his father dying of poison doesnt fit the two mercs that KILLED ADAM SMASHER and takamura, if tgey could do that why not just stab or shoot the emperor. Also yorinobu just lost his trump card, so he is def being a LOT more carefull. Homestly the worsy part is that all of this is done by two unknowns. Every one will be scrambeling to figure out who v and jackie are and who the fuck hired you to ice the emperor.
as said by the other 2, imagine it like the Don't Fear the Reaper mission, if you watched a guy walk into Arasaka tower and walk out 15-20 minutes later drenched in blood and circuitry KNOWING he just killed smasher, would you even try? I'd be like that one smart Batman generic goon who saw him and told his coworker "yeah i ain't see shit"
They could've made this a quick but impossible option to end the game earlier. Like literally just make you go back to Dex and then you leave NC for good with Jackie and Misty, credits roll. Everyone is happier than ever
I feel like there should be an almost impossible option where you fight the entire arasaka corperation with nothing but your fists and the kongou in the drawer there would probably be a secret premature ending too
jackie shouldn't have died there. T-Bug getting hacked and Dex getting jumped by arasaka in the hotel room while V and Jackie go to Evelyn would've been a lot better for the story. getting shot in the head on the way there and Jackie bringing V to Vik instead of Evelyn. etc etc
@@Keroltor Other ways to work around it. V could be semi-concious, just like Jackie was that day. If he's injured prior (Similar to jackie) and then shot in the head (instead of bleeding out like jackie) then its perfectly reasonable to think that if the briefcase was in a semi-decaying state (Due to their escape methods most likely being similar if not the same), than V would take up that option assuming they still called Evelyn. I think Jackie needs to die anyways for the story, but IMO it should've been end of act two, or late act 3.
@@jimbo2947 I agree that, for story purposes, Jackie's death has to happen, and I would have liked it later too, as we didn't really get to know Jackie as much as V did during the time laps after the first mission. But the main part of the story is the extremely short and could probably be done in less than 10 hours, so Jackie sadly has to die early because of that. Then, fighting off Arasaka and Smasher would probably end up lethally wounding our big boi anyway, and all the problems with Arasaka would probably still make Dex betray us, regardless of us killing Smasher or not. So the plot would probably be the same. The whole story really is relying on Jackie's death and then V's with the chip in their head.
@@jimbo2947 v pits it in there head for safe keeping and after dropping an injured jackie off goes to eveline about the job, only to get brain fried by the voodo boys along side eveline. Relic boots, game starts the same but now with a masdive reputation and a starting mystery about who tried to fry you.
Of course - if it had of actually gone down this way, Jackie would have never jacked in the relic shard and it would have been brought back to Dex who may or may not have betrayed them at that point and just killed them outright. There's some indication Evelyn might have betrayed them as well if you pay attention to the percentages as she attempts to cut Dex out of the deal (and Jackie and Bug too if you pay attention to the percentages she's offering - Dex likewise ignores Evelyn in his percentages). Anyway, best case scenario: the heist would have been a success and V and Jackie rich, but the rest of the story would have never happened including meeting Panam because none of them would have received Johnny's engram. Worst case scenario, Dex would have put a bullet in Jackie AND V's head anyway and the rest of the story never happens because they don't have the relic to bring them back to life. But I do have to admit I hated to see Jackie die and would have been glad to have found a way to save him. Incidentally, if Jackie had not have removed the shard and given it to V right before he died, HE would have been the one dying and receiving Johnny's engram and the rest of the story would have been all about him as when Dex kills V that would have been the end of V since V wouldn't have the shard to save him. But the shard would have brought Jackie back to life if Jackie hadn't of removed it right before dying!
@@Marcustheseer Actually, he is saved by the shard. Vik explains that when Dex shot him, he essentially flatlined. The Silverhand Engram contained nanites which kicked into action to repair the brain damage. Summarizing Vik, the nanites are repairing V's brain with the information that have on JS, hence the personality overwrite. V is unable to remove the engram as the nanites would deactivate which is the only thing truly keeping him alive. Had V not been shot there's no reason to believe the engram would be overwriting V. That said, alone, the shard wouldn't have been able to save V. Takemura for evac/nursing via Del and Vik for stabilizing the body. Although I'd be more willing to dismiss Takemura for Delamain. I think V would have been able to call and crawl into Del without intervention. Goro puts V in a gunfight shortly after and would have got them both killed if V didn't call Delemain.
In canon V kills smasher but you knew that, the fact that V could take on smasher just makes me fiend for that animation so dont doubt V Its all about how they handle the situation. Unfortunately David could have won but did not handle the situation at all. David did not handle the situation why? Because he is a noob let his guard down infront of a formidable opponent with no honor so Adam literally saw David had left himself wide open and got a free shot on Davids flesh with a high caliber but that right there is when the fight ended as David is literally bleeding out all because he Fkkn made a rookie mistake too EZ for Adam. Won before the fight could even start
Ironically if Jackie Never had took the chip out of his head it probably would of Brought him back to life like it did V but than it would have probably been V dead and Jackie Alive, well unless he revived before they reached Dex and maybe both V and Jackie would have been able to take out Dirty Dex And his lame Body Guard, which is kinda sux we cant kill his Body Guard at least since Takemura took our Vengeance from Dex
jackie died of bleeding wounds, v lived because dax shot v with a low calliber weapon and it hit a part of the brain where it chip began the merging/healing process. no way jackie would have lived
I don't mind that Jackie died, but I just wish that montage of you doing missions and chilling together would have been actual game play. It would have made his death way more powerful.

The game DOESN'T have to end there. Jackie can become a recruitable follower. You can do all the Fixer mish's, and be a LIVING Night City legend. I always felt relying on the miserable and sour "You gotta die to be big." trope was just a cover for lack of creativity.

I disagree. Kinda glad things happened how they did. Happy ever afters, fan service, Hollywood endings or outcomes are prevalent in 99.99999% of the other games out there (so there's plenty of games that cater to this mentality), and we get a handful that go against the grain and folk complain. I mean, Jackie was ace, but not everything should always be rosy and within our control.
I have a theory that the original story was that Jackie was uploaded to the relic and then downloaded to V before they decided to change that with Johnny.
We also have to accept that we might have been able to save Jackie, had so much content not been pulled and scrapped to push a fast release

Wouldn't be any point to it. If jacky doesn't get killed, we don't use the bioship. If jonny isn't in our head, the rest of the game doesn't happen. Sometime, something bad must happen for something good to also happen.
Take start wars for exemple. Take away the bad guys (the sith) and all that could still happen are the senat politics borring parts. Take away yorinobu and the whole game is gone past the sandra dorset mission. Dex deshawn wouldn't even have a job for us.
Jacky's death is just as crucial to the story, otherwise nothing interesting would happened past the heist.
Therefore, us having no way to save jacky is in no way a missed opportunity. In fact, it created a massive chain of events which each added many opportunity. This is way better. ^-^

Why change the winning recipe.
Changing the game for "this" scenario to happen, could make anything happening afterward a really boring story. The story (from point of view) isn't perfect, but far better and enjoyable then it could have been.
Also, Changing this scene with a new game + for the event to have a possibility to end this way would add tons of bugs related to the substitute story. Years have passed and still there's tons of bugs. Think of the amount that would be added by such a huge change in the game. More then 75% of the game would be changed. Migth as well create an all new game, if so much need to be changed.And for so many bugs being added (with even more coming with the dlc), I'm pretty sure some of them would still exist for years, if not for life. The frustration caused by those bugs would surely outmatche the "not so sure" enjoyment of the alternate scenario that would be created.
So, yup. Jacky's death, no matter how sad it is, is duely important for the game's story. Without that sad moment, the amazing parts couldn't exists. The romance, the revange over smasher, silverhand having a 2nd chance at live and making it up for his mistakes, etc. ^-^

And yet he was the kind of idiot who was willing to make a deal without getting the payment up front. Meanwhile other Fixers [like Rogue, as we find out in dialogue during the Panam recruitment quest after Nash bites the dust] get paid upfront and contract the job out to Mercs, so whether or not the deal works out, they've been paid.
I mean, a big DLC is in the works so changes might come, but I guess Jackie will stay dead - he appears in Death Stranding of all games, you can collect shards of his personality to restore him after which he says he has no idea how he appeared there and he has to return.
And V succumbed to Cyberpsychosis a week later due to not having Johnny's Engram.

I wish this was in the game! The actual fight would have to be brutally difficult of course (and since you only have Yori's gun and whatever you can craft it would be), but it'd be sooo cool to have a hidden good ending!
You can have the Satori as well here. If you grind all of the Gigs and NCPD hustles before you do the Heist you basically walk out once you go grab Satori. :)
Would be neat if they did something like Adam and Takemura are always double your current level and XP is capped at a certain point so you can only unlock so many skills at this stage. I'd probably also make it so they 2 shot you so you can't afford to take more than a single hit. Make it real nasty, also give Jacky HP so you have to protect him too. Also make it similar to Don't Fear the Reaper where you have to do it all in one go, no saves. Then give a cool unique cutscene and roll credits.

You retrieve the Relic and chooses between keeping it in your head and fight against the whole world or give to Evelyn Parker and get rich as hell

If CDPR would release a workable Creation Kit there could easily be mods like this. From the story perspective, ALL the other mish's you get from fixers can happen. Do enough of them, get enough eddies and reputation, I can easily seeing Rouge saying she is going to retire and gifts you the Afterlife. I am sure they could find other ways to introduce Panam and Judy that DON'T have to do with you ... well, I'll just say going with the CDPR endings, that work. It's all fun storytelling at that point, of which there are TONS of clever folks who could do that. And guess what CDPR? You get a game that stands the test of time like Skyrim and Fallout 4 JUST cuz clever modders made it happen. Oh yeah, AND you make a game that people STILL buy and play ELEVEN years after release.
It's not just about releasing it bro. It's skyrim's game engine itself that was built to be easily moddable. And don't forget it's SKSE that allowed scripting mods in skyrim which was made by modders.

I really wish we got more Jackie. He’s such a fun character and I wanted more of his dumb puns and ploys before the chip. Like it’d be fun having him as a mission companion for the first half of the game, then getting killed off in the mission and replaced with Johnny as your partner in crime. They don’t even have to change how the story went, just add more missions with, or about Jackie. Like I don’t even mind shit where after his death you go and get something from the Valentina’s that was Jackie’s that they wanna give back after his death

I fully believe that if you do all the side jobs in the first area you’re strong enough to kill smasher when you meet him. Between 4 ripperdocs worth of implants and gigs/ncpd jobs getting you to lvl 20 easy, it wouldn’t even be hard. They did smasher dirty tbh, should be way harder
Can actually confirm, did all hustles and gigs prior to smasher and was around said level. Proceeded on different save to rush story, and again was at roughly the same level.
It's not easy, or even really hard tbh. Totally doable especially if you have optical camo, quickhacks, and whatnot to stealth the fight, which would be far more fun in the tiny suite space than it is inside the Mikoshi datafort.

I wish there was some secret ending if you did this, similarly to the secret ending of FarCry 4. You do something that you would not have thought of doing and you get rewarded with some cool easter egg. The "secret ending" that CP2077 has right now has nothing secret about it - you just have to sit still next to Jonny for 5 minutes and the ending itself feels like it should be one of the readily available options.
But if you jumped out of the glass pillar, shanked both Smasher and Takemura, which would be insanely difficult at that stage of the game, and fought your way out of Konpeki Plaza... Now THAT'S a secret ending material!

It would’ve been CRAZY if they made like, a whole different secret game that you could unlock by doing this and then your story mission would be to try and save Jackie from Johnny (if Jackie still ended up with the chip in his head from this point)
It wouldn't even have to happen as it's V's death that activated Johnny's construct (and actually saved their life at this time). So if the chip doesn't get damaged and its host doesn't die, they could just deliver the chip to Dex, get paid and become a living legend for killing the corpos formerly living legend.

I've always been interested in two different ideas in C2077. One being if V NEVER took the Relic job to start with, as they state to Panam "there are other fixers, other gigs". The more interesting one being if the Heist either went as planned or a significantly leveled/skilled V would be allowed to at least take a crack at smasher. On my first run I did ALL the NCPD and Regina gigs before hitting Konpeki and was about lv 25 give or take a few. That's more than enough to take on Smasher given I later tried the fight around that level on a different save. Also I often imagine an actually challenging smasher fight lmao.

I played through the game almost entirely blind, had no idea what the game was about. Jackie getting badly wounded came out of nowhere and hit like a fuckin train. With how many Maxdocs I had on hand, I was really hoping they'd let me give him one of them. Unfortunately that wasn't an option. I had to sit there with several, several healing items as I watched him bleed out and die. I sat there for 10 minutes after arriving at the place I needed to be wondering what to do next. Eventually I figured if I couldn't save him myself, Dr. Vic wouldn't be capable either, so I sent him home.

I think it would be really neat if they had this as a secret alternative to playing the mission normally, the only difference being the case gets damaged during the fight, V pops in their head, Smasher offs Jackie, V escapes out the window as normal and the rest plays out. At the end of the game when you kill Smasher, you'd get a new voiceline to say which would just be "This is for Jackie".

One of the biggest story railroad problems that cyberpunk has is that so many events are forced on you.
This would be actually really awesome if this could be an option but that would mean the story would be completely different and the game would be massive in terms of missions, people you encounter, maybe even new locations and probably would find a way for Johnny’s engram to exist outside of V. But then that would mean that all the implants V gets, increases the chances of Psychosis, making him go more in a berserk mode, making the game harder. Definitely would change things but still would be pretty cool.
-Dex hears who you took out, decides he won't risk death, pays but demands never to see you and Jackie again.
-Jackie and V leave for somewhere Arasaka has little influence for a while, partying it up.
-Arasaka doesn't splinter as much as it would have (everyone siding with sister this time), but is shaken up with loss of Saburo -- until he can get a proper clone or "naturally grown from the family farm" meat puppet to put him back on Earth.
-The Voodoo Boys bring about the end of civilization a month later because they got their hands on the chip, kill Evelyn still, and open the floodgates to rogue AIs as V wasn't around to stop them from brokering a deal with the things or along with Johnny convincing Alt there was an alternative worth its interest. Plus, the VBs would've found a way to storm the mall fort to kill the Netwatch guy (nothing a truck bomb or hijacked kamikaze shuttle couldn't fix).
So essentially... If we successfully finished the heist, saved Jackie and left elsewhere, that would've essentially fucked over the rest of NC? Neat
one problem with that last part. The VDB can NOT save Brigitte with such tactics, they literally NEEDED V for the GIM job so they could free Brigitte and Ti Neptune. If they had stormed the facility the first thing Mosley would do is take Brigitte and Ti off life support thus the need for stealth. Nobody but Brigitte and the highest ranking VD chiefs would even know the purpose of the Relic in regards to their larger plans (Placide, her lieutenant, doesn't even really have faith in the plan, nor know what the biochip LOOKS LIKE.) Without their leadership they NEVER pierce the Blackwall.

I know that is your opinion, but objectively, Takemura never friended you, he only saw you as business. You can have your opinion, but it is objective that he doesn't see you as friend. Johnny states it multiple times, so does Takemura.
Best part of this game is the prologue. Great build up.
This would be a cool mod for players who don’t wanna have to go through the entire campaign, so they can get super stacked before this mission then just kill smasher, maybe Jackie could still die and there would be alternate ways to get the iconics, etc. but it would save time for repeat play throughs

Its a real shame you don't get to go through more of the game with Jackie. Rare to find and NPC that you really enjoy, and to lose him so early hurts even more. I hope in next game they can recreate this same kind of chemistry with another character, and we get at least half of the story with them before loosing them. Or even better there be a way to get them through, maybe harder path, but if you do complete it you save that NPC.
Well if this were possible then they'd have to find some other way to explain why the Relic ends up in V's head.
Could still have it get damaged whilst you escape. It’d be interesting if they send oda after you instead in the graveyard and have some interesting dialogue with Johnny if this happened. Just because you kill smasher and takamura doesn’t mean the relic couldn’t get damaged by you getting blown off the roof
No not really. You could walk away and get paid just like any other job. I mean, there wouldn't really be a story but that's ok. You can still roam NC and do the rest of the content.
V fell when he wrongly stepped on the rock and by accident his head landed on the relic, the end
@@C1umsyJester thing is, V doesn't have the Relic at this point, Jackie does. He gives it to V while dying in the car. So if Jackie survives either he gets all the problems with Johnny taking over his mind, or nothing happens and the job gets done.

Since jackie doesn't exactly die with the relics engram in him (He doesn't need to assuming V put it in his head) You could feasibly just say since its a prototype, its begun to overwrite his brain.

Homestly the worsy part is that all of this is done by two unknowns. Every one will be scrambeling to figure out who v and jackie are and who the fuck hired you to ice the emperor.

as said by the other 2, imagine it like the Don't Fear the Reaper mission, if you watched a guy walk into Arasaka tower and walk out 15-20 minutes later drenched in blood and circuitry KNOWING he just killed smasher, would you even try? I'd be like that one smart Batman generic goon who saw him and told his coworker "yeah i ain't see shit"

wow i played this mission 3 times with 3 different characters and not once have i thought saving jackie was possible
They could've made this a quick but impossible option to end the game earlier.
Like literally just make you go back to Dex and then you leave NC for good with Jackie and Misty, credits roll. Everyone is happier than ever

I feel like there should be an almost impossible option where you fight the entire arasaka corperation with nothing but your fists and the kongou in the drawer

jackie shouldn't have died there. T-Bug getting hacked and Dex getting jumped by arasaka in the hotel room while V and Jackie go to Evelyn would've been a lot better for the story. getting shot in the head on the way there and Jackie bringing V to Vik instead of Evelyn. etc etc
Then V wouldn't get the chip, would they? As Jackie doesn't have a reason to give it to them if he's not dying.
@@Keroltor Other ways to work around it. V could be semi-concious, just like Jackie was that day. If he's injured prior (Similar to jackie) and then shot in the head (instead of bleeding out like jackie) then its perfectly reasonable to think that if the briefcase was in a semi-decaying state (Due to their escape methods most likely being similar if not the same), than V would take up that option assuming they still called Evelyn. I think Jackie needs to die anyways for the story, but IMO it should've been end of act two, or late act 3.
@@jimbo2947 I agree that, for story purposes, Jackie's death has to happen, and I would have liked it later too, as we didn't really get to know Jackie as much as V did during the time laps after the first mission. But the main part of the story is the extremely short and could probably be done in less than 10 hours, so Jackie sadly has to die early because of that.
Then, fighting off Arasaka and Smasher would probably end up lethally wounding our big boi anyway, and all the problems with Arasaka would probably still make Dex betray us, regardless of us killing Smasher or not. So the plot would probably be the same. The whole story really is relying on Jackie's death and then V's with the chip in their head.
@@jimbo2947 v pits it in there head for safe keeping and after dropping an injured jackie off goes to eveline about the job, only to get brain fried by the voodo boys along side eveline. Relic boots, game starts the same but now with a masdive reputation and a starting mystery about who tried to fry you.

You know. If you save Jackie, then the game itself has no basis to continue, so this possibility should be explored as fast ending route.
When you do all the side quests first before starting the story missions lol
Of course - if it had of actually gone down this way, Jackie would have never jacked in the relic shard and it would have been brought back to Dex who may or may not have betrayed them at that point and just killed them outright. There's some indication Evelyn might have betrayed them as well if you pay attention to the percentages as she attempts to cut Dex out of the deal (and Jackie and Bug too if you pay attention to the percentages she's offering - Dex likewise ignores Evelyn in his percentages). Anyway, best case scenario: the heist would have been a success and V and Jackie rich, but the rest of the story would have never happened including meeting Panam because none of them would have received Johnny's engram. Worst case scenario, Dex would have put a bullet in Jackie AND V's head anyway and the rest of the story never happens because they don't have the relic to bring them back to life.
But I do have to admit I hated to see Jackie die and would have been glad to have found a way to save him. Incidentally, if Jackie had not have removed the shard and given it to V right before he died, HE would have been the one dying and receiving Johnny's engram and the rest of the story would have been all about him as when Dex kills V that would have been the end of V since V wouldn't have the shard to save him. But the shard would have brought Jackie back to life if Jackie hadn't of removed it right before dying!
V isnt saved by the shard but by giro and vic
@@Marcustheseer Actually, he is saved by the shard. Vik explains that when Dex shot him, he essentially flatlined. The Silverhand Engram contained nanites which kicked into action to repair the brain damage. Summarizing Vik, the nanites are repairing V's brain with the information that have on JS, hence the personality overwrite. V is unable to remove the engram as the nanites would deactivate which is the only thing truly keeping him alive. Had V not been shot there's no reason to believe the engram would be overwriting V.
That said, alone, the shard wouldn't have been able to save V. Takemura for evac/nursing via Del and Vik for stabilizing the body. Although I'd be more willing to dismiss Takemura for Delamain. I think V would have been able to call and crawl into Del without intervention. Goro puts V in a gunfight shortly after and would have got them both killed if V didn't call Delemain.
I kinda think this undermines the whole point of cyberpunk and it's universe there aren't any happy endings no matter who you are

Alright so two barely chromed dudes can beat Adam who is a full on cyborg, but johnny silverhand and David Martinez who was a literal mech couldn't.
In canon V kills smasher but you knew that, the fact that V could take on smasher just makes me fiend for that animation so dont doubt V Its all about how they handle the situation. Unfortunately David could have won but did not handle the situation at all.
David did not handle the situation why? Because he is a noob let his guard down infront of a formidable opponent with no honor so Adam literally saw David had left himself wide open and got a free shot on Davids flesh with a high caliber but that right there is when the fight ended as David is literally bleeding out all because he Fkkn made a rookie mistake too EZ for Adam. Won before the fight could even start

It's sad that you cannot save Jackie indeed, however for V to become a legend, she or he had to become a solo first I think.

so in the base game if you wait in the room without hiding, do they just come in and murder you or can the scene not progress until you hide.

Ironically if Jackie Never had took the chip out of his head it probably would of Brought him back to life like it did V but than it would have probably been V dead and Jackie Alive, well unless he revived before they reached Dex and maybe both V and Jackie would have been able to take out Dirty Dex And his lame Body Guard, which is kinda sux we cant kill his Body Guard at least since Takemura took our Vengeance from Dex
jackie died of bleeding wounds, v lived because dax shot v with a low calliber weapon and it hit a part of the brain where it chip began the merging/healing process.

@@tobybll you need to wait for T-Bug to unlock the doors. So instead of leaving directly, you can go to the rooftop and get these items.

Just a funny ass ending where it instantly ends with the news explaining that 2 random guys killed Adam smasher and you and Jackie in a mansion with millions of Eddie’s like “how tf did we pull that off”
This should've been a really difficult secret ending where you succeed in the heist
