  • Puffins, the official bird of Newfoundland and Labrador. We visited the Puffin colony in Elliston Newfoundland, what a treat to be able to watch and photograph them.

Us too! We went for two days. The first day rained and was cool, we were able to photograph the few puffins that were out. The second day of our trip was much nicer, and made for a good day of photography.

The puffins are really cool, sometimes I feel like going to live in Newfowndland because of the nature and landscapes, I really like it, I would put it among the most beautiful places in the world.

My husband and just came back from a 10 vacation in Newfoundland last week. One of our stops was in Elliston to see the Puffins. The weather was windy and cold but it was still fantastic. We were very lucky and we had about 30 Puffins on our side of the cliffs while we were there. I have the Sony 200-600 mm lens and I had to back up to get photos as they were only 15-20 feet away from us. Newfoundland stole a little piece of my heart ❤️ I loved watching all your video’s before our trip and will continue to do so. Thank you so much!

Another wonderful video! Thank you for sharing your experiences of discovering the beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador. Puffins are just so cute! And they're fascinating birds to watch.
On a side note, I'm glad to see you're feeling well enough to be out and about again, Helen. I hope your wrist returns to full strength and flexibility soon, so you can use your cameras without restrictions and get more of those amazing photos. Cheers!

Maybe too early yet but doesn't seem many there as in last year. I hope this changed by the time I saw this video. Funny adorable birds

I went through your video about shooting puffins that are so cute. Is it possible to share the coordinates of the shooting place with me, who is planning a trip to Newfoundland. I heard that the government does not allow people to land on bird islands near Witless Bay. Apart from that, I'd like to confirm that is a 70-200 lens able to do the job?

This was shot in Elliston NL we have not been to the sanctuary in Witless Bay yet. The only way the 70-200 will be ok in Elliston is if they fly over off the island to where you are. Some people also get some good shots at Cape Bonavista by the lighthouse.
