18:14- in the friendship games, when cadence told twilight about the rule against pets, twilight said she was doing an experiment on spike (and other dogs) called, "human canine cohabitation, effects and implications." this must be that experement, or at least a callback to it.
I think Sci Twi wants to make a robotic dog that has Timber's personality.

I kind of hope that we get an Equestria Girls tv show, Twilight and Sunset have gotten the most character development (Sci-Twi I mean) so it would be nice giving the other girls more character development instead of feeling like they're season 1 versions of themselves. And awe thank you! As a woman I don't like wearing too much make-up, heck I never wear make-up unless it's a wedding or something like that, it just doesn't feel natural to me. (But that's just me personally). These were a lot of fun but the last one was still very odd even with knowing the story behind it, but still great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.
Oh really? That's cool. Good to know. I love MLP FIM but I also enjoy the Equestria Girls movies if they want to expand on the whole Equestria Girls franchise they need to develop the other characters more, so cool that there's a tv show coming out with it.

That's literally what I was thinking the first time I saw that title. I was actually expecting an alternate version of the song.
This is only the first wave of the EG Summertime shorts.
The second wave is airing on this Friday and this Saturday. Right after the 1900 hours movie on Discovery Family.
I think in the last short Twilight was trying to create a female companion for Spike. That's what it looked like on my initial watch with you, and maybe Twilight and Timber were dating and that's why there were so many references? Or just the fact that they wee crushing on each other? I don't know, it was confusing.
I don't know how I feel about an EG spinoff tv series. I'm not really against it, but I really want them to address Sunset going back to Equestria not only to make amends with a Celestia and reintegrate, but so that Equestrian magic will stop leaking out into the human world. I don't think it can be resolved until she finally goes back and seals the mirror. But we'll have to wait and see what the show staff has planned for EG as a whole.
It's a misdirect. Think of the dog in the pictures. You spend the majority of the video thinking she's trying to clone the guy in the pictures, only to arrive at the climax where she winds up creating a robot dog-companion for Spike based in some fashion off the dog in the pictures. Subversion of audience expectations.
Also, I'm not entirely certain that the guy in the pictures she's analyzing is Timber. The one on her desk where he's holding the axe certainly is, but the ones she's actually analyzing for her project...I'm not a hundred percent. He has the same skin tone, but the hair kind of throws me.

Lol, I relate to Photo Finish's hydration policies here. XD Whenever I'm working or something and get thirsty I'll usually just vigorously slug down an entire bottle of water in a couple seconds and go back to what I was doing. XD
That book opening before each of the dance shorts? It has the Canterlot High logo on it, which means that it's likely a yearbook. A yearbook opening to pictures of the shorts is symbolically saying, "this happened in the past".
I believe Timber had a dog and "lost him to some unknown cause" so Twilight is making a robotic version of his dog that's why she had a picture of Timber and a dog.
Actually, that guy with a white dog is NOT Timber Spruce but a C.P.A. Student (he appears on the Pinkie and Rainbow Dash "Spy" Friendship Games prequel short).
. If Sci!Twi was telling the truth to Cadance about her research on "Humane-Canine Cohabitation"; then she would need at least another sample besides herself (at least as a control); so she probably know him because of that.
-> His inclusion in this short is still forced, as he has nothing to do with the "reason" for Sci!Twi to make a robot companion to Spike... that was never adressed on the first place (basically he gets bored with other members of his species like CHS!Winona since his magical "uplifting" give him human speech and increased inteligence).

A women can wear tons of makeup and have it look natural in the sense that it's not overly colorful. There is the whole "nude" look people do.

Going into these shorts for the first time kinda threw me off, I didn't put the pieces together until I realized that Sunset was nowhere in sight. But, I'm sure we'll see her in the upcoming shorts soon. When I heard the news about EG getting their own series, my eyes shot open. I knew it was only a matter of time before this was gonna happen, I just knew it! I guess the three specials did so well that Hasbro wanted to keep 'em coming in a series fashion like Friendship is Magic.

I have reason to expect that most of these shorts took place 'during' the fall formal during the 'first' Equestria Girls movie. What gives it away is the statue that wasn't destroyed during the 'Friendship Games' and possibly the reason why Sunset Shimmer is not with them is more likely because she was still the antagonist at the time. So I suppose these shorts details what happens during the Fall Formal almost like 'deleted scenes' so to speak. As for the short with Pinkie teaching Fluttershy to cheer... I have no idea (Maybe during the 'Friendship Games' or before).
wrestlemaniac829 You are correct the first 3 shorts take place during the 1st EQG movie while the Twience music video takes place after "Legend of everfree".
As for the short with Fluttershy & Pinkie cheering it has to take place after "The Friendship games" because no one at Canterlot high could beat anyone at Crystal prep before "The Friendship games".

As for Malbolge... actually I made my own version of it, which is a crossover of tree different languages: Malbolge, Whitespace (in which I replaced the spaces with dots for better readability) and Brainfuck, with a little flavour of lambda calculus to make it functional ;) But it turned out that modern computers are incapable of processing this language :( I need an IBM 5100 for that, but apparently there's no one around anymore :P Looks like a little time travel to the past is needed... :q

Plus I think Fluttershy is much more cuter as a human than as a pony.
Personally I like a lot of the human version designs better than the pony versions. For example, Scootaloo looks so much cooler for some reason. Rarity is better as a human too IMO, and she makes more sense this way. Shimmer and Glimmer, Vinyl and some others look better to me as humans as well. Filthy Rich's human design is badass, though his pony design is good too.
Dunno about Fluttershy though, I really wish her human version didn't have that weird eye shadow. Then again Lemon Zest also has different color eyelids and really doesn't seem like the type to apply eye shadow so maybe it's just a Thing that Happens in this human world.
Fluttershy is so cute,but Rarity is so weak as human. I like her a lot more in pony version.
Fluttershy confuses me. Of the mane-six EQG girls, she is the only one to wear eye-shadow while her pony version does not (except for Starlight, recently).

From a logical point of view it's clear that Human Twilight is at least seeing or is in fact Dating Timber Spruce through the connections of "Romance" and since Twilight is away from Spike during these Dating times Spike is all alone so the concept of Twilight creating a Robotic companion to be there for Spike is a very nice thing for her to do.
To make things even better just what if the residual magic that's leaking from the Statue ends up making it's way to this new Robot Dog and just like Disney's Pinocchio the Robot Dog will be granted a life as a Real Dog so not only would Twilight be happy with Timber but Spike will be happy too since he has got a new love interest/Dog friend and this would kill off the Rarity/Spike ship especially in the Human Realm.I'm not so sure how this scene could be done in the Pony World though.If I had to make a assumption it would be the latter of Spike/Ember ship.

I was a junior in high school when "Weird science" came out.
these four shorts took place in the first Equestria Girls movie.
Now that I think about it, the last one MUST have happened after EQG1 but before the Rainbow Rock prequel shorts; since the "raise" on the statistics on sports and grades (represented by that chess match) of C.H.S. relative to C.P.A. that Principal Cinch mentioned in "Friendship Games" is something that had to happen gradually as the moral and mood of the school improved without the bad influence of old Sunset Shimmer.
-> While it could happen after Rainbow Rocks, the arrangement of the background of "music room" is different; plus assembling a rock band probably took a lot of free time from the humane six (Rainbow Dash would had "train" with her guitar instead of playing soccer, the same with Pinkie and Fluttershy not having time for cheerleading practice or Rarity for singing).
Steps of pep would take place after the friendship games seeing as how they were playing against crystal prep

The fact that they were set in during the first movie really threw me off as well. I found myself having Sunset withdrawals!

I think the photo booth/dance off scenes are set before the battle with Sunset since Twilight isn't wearing her crown since after the battle she was wearing her crown.
As for the picture in the Mad Twience MV with the guy and the dog, I don't think that was Timber since his hair is greenish blue and Timber's hair is green. I don't think the guy has anything to do with her project, she most likely focusing on the dog in the photo. As for Timber's role in that short, I think was probably cause Twilight was trying to make a female/possible love interest companion for Spike so maybe she was researching her relationship with Timber for her experiment. Though that's my personal thoughts on that, I don't know for sure.

The picture of Timber with a dog wasn't of Timber. It was of some guy with a dog. Sci-Twi was studying dogs to make spike a girlfriend. Also I think the guy was in the eqg special mirror magic. (Sci-Twi clearly has a type she likes in guys, tan skin and green hair.)

The EG shorts from EG1 were animated in Germany thus does not have the same animation style that DHX and Hasbro usually uses, since the canon content is animated and produced in Vancouver Canada.

After looking at the picture of the thing talking about the EQG series, I think the girls are getting new outfits. RD gets a new jacket, pants and shoes. Pinkie gets a more pink outfit but I'm not sure about everyone else because I'm looking on my phone zoomed in so it's blurry for me but I think I can make out Sunset's outfit. Sunset seems to be wearing an orange T-shirt with a black vest and a magenta colored skirt or shorts.

5:09 I'm a girl and I agree with you. Be glad I don't really wear makeup except on special occasions. I only wear eye-shadow, lipstick and blush when it comes to that but I absolutely hate wearing makeup
