Does this require base station? i.e. can I connect it to the router directly without a base station?

Hey Ahmed, thx for your comment. This one (Arlo Ultra 2) requires a base station.
If you don't wish to use a base station, go for Arlo essential or the Arlo Pro 4 which will be available very soon.

Can you leave it also plugged in all the time with the battery inserted?
Since I hear there are more features available when plugged in.
Also in case someone cuts the power it will keep recording since the batteries are inside.
    Thank You

      Hi Vincenzo,
Features are the same whether plugged in or not, and yes if someone cuts the power it will keep recording and the cameras siren will keep working since the batteries are inside.

How long do the batteries last?

Batteries for the Ultra 2 last up to 6 months, but it depends on your usage.

The Essential is great for getting started with Arlo products. I'll see if the review team will make a video on it. Feel free to email sales@devicedeal.com.au if you have any questions though.

    Hi Dan,
Could you please confirm the max. size SD card the base station can handle?

      Hi Steve,
There is no limit given by Arlo, which tells me that I would expect all capacities over the minimum 16GB to be supported.
      Arlo Advises the following:
"VMB5000 accepts microSD cards, microSDHC, or microSDXC. We recommend that you use a microSD card with a minimum of 16 GB capacity, Speed Class 10, UHS1, V10. The Arlo SmartHub supports up to class 10 UHS-3 V90 class microSD cards."
