Beethoven Was Deaf is a live album by Morrissey, recorded around the time of the tour for Your Arsenal. The songs were recorded live at Paris Zenith on 22 December 1992, except for the titles followed by a *, which were recorded live in London 2 days before. The sleeve notes incorrectly state that all songs are from the Paris concert. On 14 December 2010, it was announced that EMI had deleted this album along with World Of Morrissey & Suedehead: The Best of Morrissey from its catalogue. - Hudba
Thank you so much for sharing this great music, I really enjoy and appreciate it from Nashville Tennessee!
I found Morrissey by accident 2 weeks ago when I watched a 2023 Netflix movie named "The Killer" with Michael Fassbender and the song "A Light that Never Goes out" at the end caught my ear. I finally broke down and googled the song and found The Smiths on CZcams. Since then I have listened to 3 live albums and 29 singles counting this one. He has such a good voice and at first I didn't want to like the music so much but I'm hooked now! I was impressed by the entire first band. I was 30 in 86 when they were starting and never heard their music at all.
Its really cool seeing all these comments from so many years ago and right up to today.
🎸🎺🎻🥁🎤🎶
I Remember waiting for my brother to leave to work so I can sneak into his room and record this album onto a cassette tape from his boombox. One of my favorite live albums of all time. 🤘🏼
It’s a helluva gem!
Wow!!... You've crystalized my similar memories eloquently. For me it was my older sister who was a punk rock band at the time
Jack The Ripper… Need I say more?
This show got better with every song! It’s a must-own album for sure. Thank you for sharing this hear. Oh how I wish we could go back to the mid-late 80’s through 90’s… Morrissey still rocks to this day!
🎧🌹🎧
One of the best live albums ever...! I can just listen to this straight thru, always...
Theo Klaase I had it on cassette tape in the 90's.
I played that tape from front to back so much you could smell burning from it.
I love The Smiths and Mozza .
I became a fan aged 13. I'm 44 now.
@@mercedesblack7828 : ¡Ha! ¡Ha! Same with me. That was Morrissey's golden era in my opinion. Just turned fourty four this month myself.
Yes it is brother.
Sadly I don't think National Front Disco is n his live set list anymore. I separate the artist from the man. Having said that there's some opinion I don't disagree with. One of the best albums still in 3/ 21
THE best 🙂
I been a Smiths and Morrissey for three years now and I have been searching through CZcams for all of the things and can get my hands on.... How am I supposed to listen to everything!!! So many versions of song but its so good!! I love Morrissey!!
welcome to a life-long love affair..
jack the ripper is the most amazing song...i never get tired of it.
was there in Paris, december '92 ... guess it was the first concert of Morrissey in France after he went solo ... and so people came from all places in France for this unique gig in Christmas holidays ... god ... All fantastic ... so much noise and all packed like in tin cans ... Ouija-November's peak incredible ans fantastic ... just imagine the crowd ... 6500 fans singing 'Such A little Thing' though it was only known as a B-side at this time ... just an incredible thrill I still have listening to it ... ;) ...
sounds amazing
I love the fact that there is not a single song from the Smiths era in the tracklist. "I told you I'm going solo from now on! SO-LO!!!"
I forgot how good “Seasick, Yet Still Docked” is. Superb.
I underestimated this album for over 20 years: now it's my favourite!
Thanks!
my sentiments exactly after listening to this. I found my cd and have been annoying my significant other for three days with non-stop Moz
Cammie Sizemore Cammie, its tough marrying someone (or living with someone) who isn't a Morrissey fan! I know that too with my Mrs. Bless her heart though, she's accompanied me to two Morrissey concerts now, so I didn't have to go on my own. p.s. She likes the music, it's just Morrissey she can't stand. She says he's depressing!!!! What, Morrissey, depressing?! Never! lol
Excellent live album! Great performance all around. Jack the Ripper wins for me
Thank you sooooo much for sharing this piece of musical history...I once had this album...but yet...like ever woman in my life I lost her.
you big gay
Well do something about it, only one miserable git allowed and Moz does it much better :)~
@@adrianlucas8512 big gay?
The cross from Ouija board to November spawned a monster always gives me the chills
a great era for Moz and his musical partners
glamorous glue will always speak to me
My roommate had this in college and I had forgotten how great it was! I saw this band, Stateside in the Fall of 1993 and this live album brings back memories
Morrissey has been so much in my life, for so very! very!! long time. and will be until the last day of my life
I'm so impressed with this album. I haven't heard most of these songs, but I think they are so good
This version of Certain People I Know is one of my favourite live performances. Masterpiece album!
makes me wonder if they missed a trick on the single release - bit more oomph and it could have been a massive tune...
Thank you. This is by far the best live "official" Moz. There are 39 without shame or souls. "We wonder if the thunder is ever going to begin?"
In my humble opinion, this ranks up there with 'Live at Leeds' as one of the greatest live albums ever! Mozza would be so pleased to hear this! :-)
Love the pics....thanks!!!
Thank you for posting this! Have been looking for it forever...
e estará aqui disponível para sempre...se os direitos autorais continuarem permitindo que isso aconteça! ;) kkkkkkkkkkk
Obrigado pela visita Bradley amigo, apareça quando quiser!
@ end of National Front Disco: "We might release that as a single. Do you think it would be a hit?" "NO!!!!" "Uh......WHAT?!" A great moment for an Englishman trying to communicate with a non-English crowd :) When I was in high school I thought that was so funny I played it for my friends over and over. I was a nerd.
I prefer end of original with bass .
best recording ever of sister i’m a poet
To me, this is the best band he ever put together: Boz Boorer (guitar and some occasional wind instruments), Alain Whyte (guitar and backing vocals), Gary Day (bass) and Spencer Cobrin (drums). Note that they play all songs from the recently (at that time) released "Your Arsenal" except for "Tomorrow". These guys could rock the joint!
Great lineup; I love them together on the My Love Life video.
Agreed
Yessss - well done - love the pictures
I saw him at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis on this tour. Great mix of songs and a wonderful show!
This version of "I know it's gonna happen someday" ........absolute favorite
OMG the transition from Ouija to November!
Melhor versão de Seasick, yet still docked, e ainda vem a he knows... eu simplesmente amo essa dupla
One of the best concerts ever!
Still goes hard in 2020
once again thanks
Brilliant!
thank you thank you...Moz
Gracias... es mi disco favorito del Mozz.
This album contains some of my favorite versions of these songs!!! I need it to be on Apple Music/ Spotify!!!
thank you
What a great show this must have been...great songs, performed brilliantly. I bet the place was rocking and everyone came out buzzing. So much better than the self indulgent, borefest I witnessed at the O2 in November and left feeling disappointed.
Listening today because of the concert announcement. Love Moz
The first time I’d heard Moz’s speaking voice.
Back when live albums meant something. This is another signpost from my youth.
They still mean something, just not to you apparently 😜
God, this is a great f*cking album.
Sin duda, uno de los mejores recitales de morrissey
The best performance ever, the best playlist song. The best band members morrissey had!!!
Morrissey’s best back up band.
My favourite live album.I just wish it had Tomorrow.
Perfection
I Love Morrissey, how you tell the world (or, in this case, at least, your audience) how MORR IS HE!!!
This rocks.
Gosto muito de ver os vídeos de Morrissey.
👏👏👏
Best Suedehead ever.
On Spotify and Deezer this version doesnt exist! Its a shame!
Erry Rollins best seasick, yet still docked.
You can really hear Boz' and Alaine's rockabilly influence in this concert. I enjoy the hard guitar strumming during the "I'm so sorry" part of suedehead. Same version they did on Carson. Certain people I know is brilliant how it jumps off. I miss this original lineup but appreciate Tobias', Monzur, Lopez and Walkers tight sound. Viva Mozza
Just went to see a Smiths cover band, they were shockingly good. People were shouting things like "dead on" & perfect. Morrissey is a living legend, one of the greats. You know that's true because he's been banned everywhere.
My fave Moz album.
Simondo81 just bought arrives tomorrow. .
Yes 💥💥💥
Amo The Smiths e Morrissey!!!
HOW I LOVE YOU MOZZA!
Song (and film) timeless
Jacq The Ripper, I AM just as ripped a heart NOW as I DO believe I was when You first entered My soul!!!
Adooooro
Foda. Gracias por Todo. Brownsville Texas aqui.
Mission, Texas aqui tambien!
Wow, you are way down South... 🙂
November spawned a monster😍😍
Available HMV Import @ $45 in 1993. Found it sale in Florida for $10. :)
This was Alain whyte and boz. And there will never be a great duo ever again
mighty good mates
best seasick but yet still docked.
This band is great , I think. I like Alain's style. Some of the sounds reminds me of Southpaw
I love you brother
David, the wind blows
The wind blows
Bits of your life away
Your friends all say
Where is our boy?
Ah, we′ve lost our boy
But they should know
Where you've gone
Because again and again you′ve explained
That you're going to
Oh, you're going to
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
England for the English (England for the English)
David, the wind′s blown
The wind′s blown
All of my dreams away
And I still say
Where is our boy?
Ah, we've lost our boy
But I should know
Why you′ve gone
Because again and again you've explained
You′ve gone to the National, oh
To the National
There's a country, you don′t live there
But one day you would like to
And if you show them what you're made of
Oh, then you might do
But David, we wonder
We wonder if the thunder
Is ever really gonna begin, oh begin, oh begin
Your mom says
I've lost my boy
But she should know
Why you′ve gone
Because again and again you′ve explained
You've gone to the National
To the National
To the National Front disco
Because you want the day to come sooner
You want the day to come sooner
You want the day to come sooner
When you′ve settled the score
Oh, the National
Oh, the National
Oh, the National
Oh, the National
Oh, the National
I HATE TO BE THE TOPIC~BUT I LOVE IT WITH THIS SINGER~
I will not change and I will not be nice
I think that would make a great T shirt in gothic lettes ...
I AM impressed with Your pictures of Mike Joyce because he looks like a friend of mine from college...
National front disco a masterclass
I would like to break away from this for a quick second so I can catch a breath, I BUT I CANNOT because it is almost Us!!!
Viva Moz!!!!!!!
Beethoven's resting place now includes the "accordions" 22:56 installed on doorways connecting railway train/speedrail cabins!
I was at this concert, 2 tracks are not the CD, I was young and I didn't know..
I love the Jack the Ripper song, makes me feel like an evil murderer / monster manipulating it’s way and closing in for the kill
One of morrissey best shows ever. The best band players: boz, Alain , Garry day, Corbin . And the song we sing are not supposed to mean a thing
My favorite song on this album is "He Knows I'd Love to See Him"!
Best moz album
Def, up there with his best.
Speaking of Lost, just like everyone else, I AM, and about late...the time is NOW!!!
Showzasso!
Brasil
Love that guitar riff of Ouija board into November...

Jack the Ripper live is the real deal.
The realest of all the deals. Love that song so much.
Great album.
Buy why did EMI delete this album along with World Of Morrissey & Suedehead: The Best of Morrissey from its catalogue?
"do you think it will be a hit?" "No!" "uh...what?" lmao
he shoulda listened
We are getting HIM happy, or as close as possible (as close as is allowed). We are doing this all for "The One" reason: To Get To The Herrrrrrr I AM!!!

They will never get the reference. The world is full of crashing bores right now. Most people are too dumb to read these days.
top demais me inscrevi ok
The mistake in the sleeve notes wasn't intentional and maybe left out due to Morrissey's hectic schedule. If you believe in ghosts and watched closely the picture slides, you would suspect that LV Beethoven was there all along in the making of this live album. He haunted MORRISSEY for the sake of perfection
shame i missed the gig
Moz slayed that day! 😅
“HIS MASTER’S VOICE” 😂😂😂😂
