such a shame this album will never get its rightful recognition because of pointless arguments and monetary desires which prevent streaming platforms from carrying it. LET THE PEOPLE LISTEN TO MORRISSEY
"There is extremely heavy censorship now. If you examine, for example, the Sex Pistols rise, it largely succeeded because nobody saw it coming, and the industry didn’t think a band like the Sex Pistols could be popular, or could even exist. Now, it is severely controlled and monitored to make sure that any singer with a political message cannot get through. The result is obvious. We are left with music charts that do not reflect the feelings and needs of devout music lovers. But there cannot be a revolution." - Morrissey
PazzaTV Love this quote. Unfortunately, it is very true. Most songs on the radio are so constructed and polished; there's never anything new, and hardly anything real.
Wrong, artists that espouse utter trite get signed and publicized, those with a message that threatens vested, established interests do not get signed. Morrissey himself has struggled to get label deals because of this.

Why was this took off Spotify? I've just ordered his album, you either have to have millions of pounds to buy it (exaggeration I know) or you have to buy it from another country.
Harry Robson It's because he had a disagreement with the record label so they parted ways. So essentially there is no distributor for the album any more.
+bruceaisher .....because Morrissey demanded too much advance. I know it hurts his loyal fan base to hear this but he sells a fraction of albums as he used to - even Morrissey appears to be unaware of this.
Our human geography/globalization lecturer recently recommended this album in class and I do not regret checking it out. Morrissey sings it with understanding. He always does. I really empathize with this album as it is as relevant to our world as ever. It makes me sad and hopeful at the same time. This album is very therapeutic, in many ways!
Thank you morrissey, after 20 years in my life you remain my closest friend. Your unmatched in the ways of style and charm. Boys will one day be charming. Forgive us while we find our way. Truly you understand. Cheers.
It really is hilarious that, in 2023, this remains the best version of this album available for streaming online. Been listening to it since 2014! Is it t that good? Idk - I love it. But have I really been listening to only the first 30% of some of the best songs on the album for NINE YEARS? Really!? That means I was 17 when this came out! I turn 26 Easter Sunday! F**k!
Hi for alls! Here is Brazil! As long as there is a poet like Morrissey, my lonely heart will sing the sufferings of this world with less sadness! Long live to poet! @
because people don't get Morrissey that's why. These so-called "fans" that are more about listening to pop music hear something new and they don't have the depth or understanding of good music. Just the shit they listen to on the radio.
a lot of it is because of the platforms it was taken down on. no one listens to music on youtube, and thats the only place you can find reuploads of this fucking masterpiece of an album. i really pray someday that it gets added somehow to spotify. cheers
Morrissey, oh Morrissey, he of the songs of pleas, mortal woe, and hopes for mercy... It's so hard to get happy when you are clever beyond belief... So many people rave about originality in those who aren't really all that original. Morrissey, one of the world's true originals and wonders. I know legends of Mozzer fans cleaved to him instantly in the mid-80s... I could never become a fanatic... Boy, oh boy, I can certainly be amazed by the man and his lyrics, his brain and cleverness... But he's not an artist one can be easily influenced by...without looking like a copycat. He's so rare of an artist. I can't find many to put in a collection with him. Actually, none. He is a true original. Something said about many, but really, so rarely true. In Morrissey's case, it's true.
I met Mozzer some time ago We both served in the same regiment in the 1912 war.He always struck me as a man with moral and purpose even if others thought him strange. It was a tough time and food was short so when all that was on the menu was a dead comrade it was a case of waste not, want not.But Mozzer never would eat that meat and some say he once bit an apple and swears he heard it say 'ouch' Anyway I remember just as we went over the top for the last time I looked at him and said .;What difference does it make' and I will always remember his answer, he looked at me straight faced and said ' I don/t know but I will write a song about it one day and ask that very question; Tough as old boots that guy.
I love this album I love everything he has ever done. There is no such thing as a bad morrissey song, I will see him for the first time in one week! I've waited my whole life for this!
30+ Years a fan counting The Smiths. I'm still playing this regularly. Took a little getting used to but when you get it, its a masterpiece Official 12 songs with or without deluxe...
Yesterday, I watched James Bond "Diamonds are forever" and it struck me the first time how much Morrissey today looks like Sean Connery then in Diamonds are forever.
It's amazing. Gut wrenchingly sad about the waste of human lives. It's not like the vast majority of prisoners in there were gangsters or serial killers....just average working class men. "The only thing that makes me cry....is when I see the sky."
Been a Morrissey fan for years but stopped listening to the new stuff about 10 years ago as I was convinced wouldn't be like it that much. This really is fantastic. A complete revelation of an album.
His best album next to Southpaw Grammar. Criminal it is not on sale, if I could afford it.... Staircase at the University is up with the best of his pop tracks. So many great songs. Oboe Concerto is majestic.
NOBODY and I mean nobody considers Southpaw Grammar a good Album, so you are wrong, you must immediately stop liking it. Ok? Awesome!! Just kidding, you can like whatever you want to. I don't care what others say about music because we all have opinions
I love Morrissey, I really do, but its time he found a new writing partner and band, the tracks have lost melody, hooks and the clever lyrics that just drew you in every time. When recording, he used to listen to the music and then sing the words over the top which created brilliant inter plays between the words and tunes, not sure if he has stopped doing it that way or the band is just stale, but its such a shame to hear this album, if it was anybody else,it would never have been recorded which is actually quite heart breaking.
This is one greatest albums of the 2010's and the media knows little about it. This is why it is important to proactive search out great music. It is not on Itunes, but I will purchase a CD. What is a CD?
Brit-Flick Reviews Cool. I don't have record player though. The fact this wasn't mentioned in the Grammy's is the reason I stopped watching in the 1990's. The build ups on the songs in this album. The energy, the emotion. They don't get it. I'm glad I do.
Brit-Flick Reviews Great points. Thank God for my parents giving me a record player at five and exposing me to classical music. The bar is set really high.
***** That's good to know. Moz is at his best on this one, IMO. Then again, I say that about each one of his albums. I honestly don't have a favorite. I love them all.
Thank you for uploading this, the loudness is crazy out of whack here though. Hopefully we can get a real rerelease to support Morrissey too, great album.
Dang, this record is so cinematic compared to Years of Refusal. Alot less anthemic numbers in comparison, but tonnes more sathing critique that we've come to love in this man. Reminds of "You are the Quarry" is some ways!
Nice! You Are the Quarry is the first one that got me into his solo stuff. Now I love pretty much everything he's put out. Am I crazy to think that the Mozzer's discography would be a life saving tool if stranded alone on a desert island?
such a shame this album will never get its rightful recognition because of pointless arguments and monetary desires which prevent streaming platforms from carrying it. LET THE PEOPLE LISTEN TO MORRISSEY

This is why the internet is so important to new artists. Whatever the medium.
PazzaTV America, the new North Korea
PazzaTV Love this quote. Unfortunately, it is very true. Most songs on the radio are so constructed and polished; there's never anything new, and hardly anything real.
Love Morrisey, but he's full of shit as usual ...
Wrong, artists that espouse utter trite get signed and publicized, those with a message that threatens vested, established interests do not get signed. Morrissey himself has struggled to get label deals because of this.
Makes me really sad to think kids are getting into The Smiths and Morrissey now and won’t find this on Spotify, a masterpiece lost :(
Nope, if you want, you find it. Teach that.
I have a nice new nickname
Instead of all games.
Oh well, it's easy to look up his discography on Wikipedia like I did.

Why not just buy it?

you never get disappointed with an album recorded by Morrissey
+fabio abilio You do with Bona Drag. 'Disappointed' is the last track on the album!
+Steve27775 I usually like to answer in his song title, but right now, what difference does it make?
+Steve27775 you're probably wrong

Surprised about how great Morrissey sounds. His voice has never been stronger.

i know right. its not even on spotify or itunes..

@@funeralgirl 2 years late but that is because of a dispute with his record label that made him delete it
Morrissey for President!
God this album had some proper tunes on it! One of our Own is one of Moz’s finest
Can't stop listening to this album, it's fantastic
I remember seeing Morrissey at Firefly and being completely blown away by the title track... what a dude!
Truly original . Love his beautiful voice! So unfortunate how underrated this wonderfully talented man is.
One of the best albums of all time ❤
Morrissey's music . lyrics and art are challenging. Long live Morrissey.
For me, this was the best album of 2014. Better even than that beautiful War On Drugs album. The opening lines of this still give me chills.
Ha I'm on Koh Chang Thailand playing both this album and The War on Drugs at girl bars.
jake b together with Everyday Robots i think they where the best albums of 2014.
Los de PERÚ denle like aquí

This is one of his best albums by far, so many great songs here, with only two or three weak tunes.
Stevie, you are the perfect "Not-A-Man" for me 🐐😁😘
This has got to be Morrissey's best album ever !!!
this has got to be YOUR best album ever

Sometimes lately I think he looks a bit like Jay Leno......the chin especially.
I'm in love with this album. Completely in love. You did it again Moz

Great Album, Saw this concert in Barcelona in Oct. Morrissey is still the best.
Albert Bevia Just saw him do much of this album last night in Barcelona. Great show!
Michael Hennessy Yeah I heard he was back in Spain, Im sure it was awesome
'Mountjoy' is definitely Morrissey's best song in the past decade, and perhaps the best song he has ever written.
It's amazing. Gut wrenchingly sad about the waste of human lives. It's not like the vast majority of prisoners in there were gangsters or serial killers....just average working class men. "The only thing that makes me cry....is when I see the sky."

I like you because we feel the same about this madness.
I never gave this much consideration at first, but after some time and a number of listens, this is a stellar album
it's a masterpiece of that that there can be no doubt!
I think this album deserves a Broadway musical. Seriously.
