I was there that day! When we saw him clear that double feed on rifle like he'd done it a thousand times, we lost our friggin minds.
That was the best in my opinion. Being able to solve malfunctions like a pro probably just by simulating it in airsoft even when airsoft guns cant replicate malfunctions (mag inserted, valve hammer cocked, 100% bang when trigger is pulled), with this commitment Liku could be in the top pro shooters if he lived in US.
@@ramonrochamoreira actually there are airsoft guns that can simulate this. And sometimes you get a jam in airsoft too and you will figure it out just the same way. Take a look at the Systema PTW, they are quite expensive with 1500dollar price tag but it think the closest to the real thing

@@danielsneesby9884 To add to what Aaron was saying, it looks like the AR-15 has also got a BCM (Bravo Company) handguard on it too, likely either the MCMR (M-Lok) or KMR/PKMR (Keymod) flavours but it is a little hard to tell without a close-up.
The Aimpoints likely the Micro T1, T2 or T3 (Although it could also potentially be a Sig Sauer Romeo 4.)
Stock appears to be a LMT SOPMOD, but I could be off on that.
Looks like he's running a AN/PEQ-15 IR/Visible laser up on the top rail, some form of tac-light (possibly a Surefire or Arisaka scout light, but hard to tell precisely) on the right side of the handguard.
Grip appears to be the BCM Mod.3 Tactical Grip (What Aaron called a "stubby grip".)
All-in-all, a pretty nice AR.

I found his rifle handling damn impressing. The speed he flicked over to hit the safety between shots was clean
I’m not sure I’d say it’s the most impressive but it still is impressive. I think the most impressive thing is how quickly he adapted to the recoil.
William Vedder he uses all gas blowback, which is the same exact thing, minus recoil, since the main propellant is in the mag, so the gun can cycle like real life, kind of. Kind of not. When Liku shoots, it’s just like real life

As an airsofter and firearm owner: Range time is training for recoil control and understanding your firearm. airsoft is for training yourself for the adrenaline dump having to use that weapon. The weapon skills and drills you do with airsoft are just as useful to real firearm training IF YOU USE THEM TOGETHER. That also means take handling of your airsoft replica a little seriously to pay attention to that. In the end, anyone who thinks airsoft can't be used to train is lying to themselves.
A co2 blowback pistol for drilling reloads, sight alignment, and target transition. Real steel handgun for recoil control and accuracy 💪💪💪
@CoDGplays there's more too it though. In airsoft, there's still the adrenaline dump. It's not as severe as a real situation, but at least it forces you to work under some level of adrenaline.
finally someone said it right. both are powerful training tools.
My neighbors house caught on fire yesterday, I saw it from my yard and ran down my field and jumped my fence and I could barely breathe. I train 5 days a week for 3 hours and I was completely unprepared for the adrenaline dump. My neighbor is a large old man and I thought for sure I was going to have to drag him out of the house. But he opened his garage door and walked out. He was fine and he’d caught a trash can on fire. He dragged it out. And everything was ok
Yes indeed. Just picked up a realistic weighted Airsoft rifle. I am not in a state where I can own a rifle like I do airsoft, but I still think it’s useful to train with
You missed the little bonus at the end. Lucas gave him his personal EDC, and he fired 6 shots from the draw in about 1.5 seconds.

The thing that sets this guy apart is that he closed the dust cover after everything. I've watched so many range videos and nobody in the US or Canada even bothers to address the existence of the cover unless they're doing a detailed breakdown. His "never shot a real gun" instincts tells him to close the cover each time he is done shooting. Super impressive.
I noticed that too. His manipulation of the firearm and the way he works through the manual of arms is unreal. I’m definitely going to start trying to remember to flip the dust cover up between sets because if nothing else it looks slick when he does it and Dr. Garand thumb says looking cool is really all that matters.
Apparently dirt in there will really mess up an airsoft AR so it makes sense he would train to do the safety switch and close the dust cover simultaneously. It's amazing he does both of them faster than pros do just the safety switch!

@@TheOriginalNixiam its basic drill in the military, a handgun is not very effective at range compare to rifles. For airsoft yeah i guess you can work it out, but in real life situation the guy with more firepower and better gun will win and it will cost life, either yours or him.
This guy probably has more experience from shooting moving targets like humans through air soft which means in a combat situation this guy would be lethal
Yeah hitting moving targets with BBs is a bit harder only moving a max of 400 fps in most cases.
On the other hand, aiming with slow moving projectiles is sometimes easier than firing actual bullets. A real hunk of metal moving hundreds of meters per second isn't going to conveniently slow to a crawl right in front of an enemy.
I wouldn't go that far as to say this guy would be a lethal soldier (as he is now). Range practice is great, but it's like punching the heavy bag in the gym. Like Mike Tyson said: "Everyone has a plan, till they get punched in the mouth."
_Will he still retain his technical prowess after seeing his buddy get shot, then die in his arms?_
Weapons handling is just a small part of military training. Learning to keep your composure in stressful (life or death) situations is what truly makes or breaks a soldier.

I want one but arent they super expensive? Like I could almost buy a real gun for the same price?
Kodane nah, but a cheap $50-$150 air soft gun. I have a very good $150 one from when I was much younger... al you want is something that feels real in terms of weight distribution
@@Kodane id say $150-200. Still, that's more than $200 i've saved on ammo and maintenance
@@Kodane you can get a good airsoft gun for about 150+ dollars. Any less and it won't last a year.
Here’s something which can help you with pointing to things: CZcams has a LOT of keyboard shortcuts. J goes back 10 seconds, K pauses, L skips forward 10 seconds, M mutes and unmutes the video, comma goes back one frame, period goes forward one frame, arrow left/right skips five seconds, arrow up/down controls volume... these are real handy keyboard shortcuts that have been on CZcams for a very long time.
You also CAN slow down videos, and speed them up too. That feature is in the gear wheel menu at the bottom of the player again.
I would definitely he interested in a video of learning drills in airsoft
Just search for shooting drills and you will have more than you ever need.
Be like Liku.
For drill practicing in anticipation of real firearms eventually, id HIGHLY recommend getting a gas blow back AR15 since it helps to "replicate" blow back of a real rifle as best as an airsoft can, you'll really like it compared to a regular AEG airsoft rifle
Also you can do airsoft drills in your backyard or alley so you don't have to worry about having to "wait" for quarantine to be over which will be a while, you can do this at home :)
@@hyp3r-systems838 I would probably skip the alley. Especially after the one person that was aressted for filming on a roof and some on-lookers call the cops on them.
What’s impressive is not his skill, but how fast he learns and adjusts. That’s amazing.
If people believe “you only learn from 100% equipment”; then, people need a full basketball court or football field to learn how to score points. Muscle memories can be had with unloaded or replica guns.
The U.S army does building clearing training with blank guns.
I don't see how airsoft can be much different. Minus the recoil factor.
26:40 The bolt holds open on an empty mag and what he's hitting is the bolt release. But he's hitting it before the mag is in, so he has to use the charging handle to pull it the bolt back again.

Jax The Reaper you do not know what you’re talking about. A lot of the best firearms instructors don’t have military and law enforcement backgrounds and neither do the beer shooters in the world. The military and law enforcement communities focus on so much more than shooting. The “WALL” is where the springy slack in the trigger is just about taken up and the striker or hammer break free. The shot releasing click in the trigger pull. You can feel it, knowing exactly where that is at in the trigger pull can save someones life one day. General good practice for learning your firearm.
So the wall is the tension point of where the trigger fires? And I assume he's telling him to press TO the wall to cut down on reaction time and help precision? (I assume a little delay after pulling the trigger can really mess up your aim?)
I've held but never fired a firearm before
@@PrometheusEpimetheus Precisely. Once the shot breaks, you'd release the trigger just past the wall to reset it, and you'd be back "on the wall" again, ready to break another shot.
@@globalforce Last question for the knowledgeable, at 14:50 is obviously a speed drill, but does it also hammer in trigger discipline? Tbh if I were to start shooting I'd wanna be hammering in dry drills like that I think
@@PrometheusEpimetheus Not to be a too much of a pedant, but insofar as what the term "trigger discipline" commonly means, which is keeping your fingers off the trigger until you're ready to destroy something, the drill probably don't have a whole lot to do with trigger discipline. While I'm not entirely sure, the drill seems to be all about trigger control, which is all about minimizing unnecessary movements to maximize accuracy. So I'd wager that the drill emphasizes not jerking your trigger finger as you're breaking a shot quickly, and returning to the wall, without any jerky movements that can throw off your aim, as you transition to the next target.
@@PrometheusEpimetheus Like globalforce said. It's about trigger control, being on the wall minimizes the movement you have before the gun is fired. Glocks are famous for hitting "low and left" but that is 99% of the time the shooter's fault. You take the slack away from the trigger and get to the wall and you take all unnecessary movement saving time and accuracy. Lucas' channel trexarms is a vault of knowledge. I'd recommend it if you're serious about it.
Hell, send them an email asking if they want to do "Royal Marine runs our course"? Never know.
Me: "Airsofter shooting real guns? This'll be embarrassing." Airsofter: *Wears flannel.*
The complexity of the drills incorporates so many aspects within a minimal amount of rounds. So they shoot a lot of rounds but they also get the most out of it.

You have to understand that with the Japanese, everything they do, they employ breathtaking amounts of discipline; to even regard it as an artform in its own way. By everything I mean EVERYTHING, from making tea to even closing a door, there is discipline in which one should do it perfectly and efficiently. What's mind boggling is that they are so reserved and humble about it, like it's literally nothing for them to be at literal 100% performance level. That was aptly shown by his performance in the video.
Closing a door? For real?
@@fosty. I guess Miks is refering to the closing of the "fusuma" (sliding doors) .
You can see that in the Tea Ceremony for instance, where even closing the "door" is subjected to a set of strict rules.

Besides Liku's outstanding shooting skills, the thing that impressed me the most was that before he even made his first shot he cleared and fixed the problem like a Pro.
i watched some of likus vids. and he exclusively uses gas blowback guns. GBB(R)s are the closest to the real deal, with real bolt carriers/slides and some recoil. they can have no feeds like real guns, just not double feeds
Just real quick reacting to something that was asked right around the 12 minute mark. A question was asked about why he had a really long mag in the Glock. Answer is most likely because they were teaching the wall and such and wanted him to shoot twice as much before he had to reload. His muscle memory develops better with fewer stops and such.
I've shot guns all my life and that airsoft guy was better than me in like 5 minutes.
I've never done dry fire drills and this has convinced me they definitely work.

Hey @originalhuman, US Marine here. Love your content. Watched pretty much every video you have. To answer 1 of your questions, US Marines also spend a lot of time dry firing. At least 1 whole day before actual range time every year. Keep up the great work. Semper Fi!
Just goes to prove how dry fire is SUPREMELY important. Most of what you need to learn and train happens before the shot breaks. You can do that without spending live rounds. Then go to the range and get the feel of recoil, and how hard you have to grip the gun.

Lucas just recently said they shoot through around $20k of ammo a year.

These days the Airsoft pistols manage to give a pretty study kick and have pretty realistic triggers. Not the same as real steel of course but enough to make you flinch and learn, as you said, not to be afraid of the weapon. Good commentary!
"oh shit thats the wrong 1911"
he has the skill, he knows how to shoot, but the recoil is the only missing part to that, thats where when i went from shooting actual firearms to airsoft, i was a bit tense, because the kick on a lot of hunting firearms, is a bit more than others, because it isnt fancy at all, so when shooting the airsoft gun i have (an ak47u completely metal, so the weight was normal to me) but there are parts of actual firearm shooting that translate well, and parts that dont, and vice versa, but if you know both, its actually really cool to compare

I had the very same reaction to this video. And seeing that video has inspired me to actually purchase airsoft gear to work on my fundamentals and basics so when I do go out and purchase real seal and train with that, I'll have more confidence and be able to just fine-tune. And there are PLENTY of videos that T-rex Arms has put out that are PACKED with great information! And because they show the drills they talk about, I trust them as an information resource for anything. They even cover gear they use and explain why they use it and the way they have it set up and why they set it up that way. There’s more to airsoft than meets the eye, especially with the manipulation and drills. Let alone, a lot of police and special operations units use airsoft replicas for force on force training if they would rather skip the cons of simunition.
ive seen police use paintball pistols that shoot tiny paintballs. i think you can buy nearly identical ones on some paintball sites
this is really interesting, living in the uk i have been using airsoft for a few years now. use to shoot real stuff with my dad back before the laws came in as he was the manager of a gun range. i have always wondered if airsoft would translate into real firearms and always wondered about the recoil issue..awesome video. wud love to see you do something like this.
I was so hesitant to watch your reaction video as I was afraid you were just going to tear it apart. But it made me smile even more watching the reaction than I was when I watched the original video. If you’re looking to get more into the tactical shooting space again, definitely keep tract of T-Rex Arms. And yes, they do make equipment and it is top notch 👌🏻
I love how he instinctively puts his AR on safe and also closes the dust cover instantly lmao 🔥🔥🔥
If he's changing hopup of the airsoft gun, the dust cover comes up every time, so to have that in his muscle memory already just shows the years of airsoft experience, since hop-up is usually done every couple hundred to thousand rounds, for a good airsoft gun.
That was fun watching him learn how to control that recoil on the pistol. So many new shooters struggle with that.
This kid is such a badass, I watched this full video and some behind the scenes stuff, so awesome! Even when he has a malfunction he clears it and gets back on target so fucking fast!!
I would absolutely watch you spend a day with these guys!! It'd be cool to see your skills!
you miss the last part after the T.REX ARMS logo...
Lucas: "This is our project from Japan, hes aimbot 1.0 and we're givin him a lil firmware update"
Keep up the good work! love the educational commentary!
You can buy the hats on the website! Great video, loved your reactions and thanks for sharing the positive energy and excitement that comes from putting in work to accomplish great things behind firearms. 🤙
Kinda proves the old saying "If you think you are great at something, there is always an asian kid who is better than you" xD
Lol why do I feel like the guy that is teaching the dude how to use real fire arm's is like a proud father
I have been playing airsoft for a 5 years and that's amazing. Mayba can't do this like him but it's impresive the reactions that game gives to you.
FYI you can go frame by frame to slow down if that helps with < and > keys
I cannot believe how fast this channel is growing only 2 months ago you hit 10k subs now you have 175k subs
there is a small clip after the outro that you missed its a crazy clip and worth the watch
Dude, you and military/gun guys aren't alone. Everyone W an applied physical skill gets that feeling. I grew up playing basketball, I can't watch a game without that feeling making me turn it off - I can't play anymore.
Love your content. Keep it up my man
