I've really tried to like the crossbow. It just generally disappoints compared to the bow or compound bow. A godroll fell into my lap recently, so I'm giving it one last chance.

I also agree they should reload faster. But in reality, a crossbow is actually much harder to reload than a bow. Either way. They definitely both need some love.
Yeah the power is pretty unmatched having that energy stored like that
I think a repeater magazine mod would take the place of the quad perk, without being too op. Might have to reduce damage to compensate for the fire rate, but I've always wanted to see more modding choice on the crossbows.
It really is a shame that they made such a unique weapon so tedious to use. I've got a bunch of great ones on the mule just in case some day they get a buff. Reload speed, like you said, just kills the experience with these. For a little while I was carrying an AA crossbow on my melee character to use when in PA as my ranged weapon, just for something different and because Bow Before Me had that nice armor penetration, but since bolts are kinda heavy I eventually relented and switched to a boring shotgun.
it seems like a really fun weapon to use! i might make an archer build just to complete the tadpole quests. very fun video, keep it up!
Wiggle! I had to use it to kill 76 scorched. I hated every kill. Grenades a plenty to help get em down. Love the vids. I missed the first rambo stream! Can not wait for part 2!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ Keep up all you do my friend!

I had an instigating crossbow and it was sweet, killed most regular enemies in one shot
They could really use a higher sneak damage bonus. Like the combat knifes stealth blade mod. Bows are worse than every other weapon category in terms of sheer DPS so I think having more sneak and crit bonuses added to them would let them keep up pace with more popular weapons. Maybe not enough to become meta but enough to become viable outside of getting a god roll.
I like using cross with instigating with farming mobs. I don’t agree with quad as you have “mysterious” reloads. But two shot is very nice and mine with explosive made it the strongest “on the card” bow I had. Was sad to lose my tse and quad ffr.
Just got a B/15/25 crossbow from Safe and Sound a few minutes ago and haven’t tried it out yet
I do miss my quad crossbow. it was a sad day when they took it away, havent really used crossbows ever since.
Weapons affected by the archer perk should by default do double the sneak damage, that would synergize well with the playstyle of them as well as giving it a different niche other than just weapons that are objectively worse than rifles.
I'm running as an archer after watching my grandson with his compound bow and of course you're video on the bow. 😀 My one wish for the crossbow is the ability to add a scope. 👍
Quad xbows used to be insane. It would glitch out and allow you to shoot as fast as you could pull the trigger
Sometimes id fire 40 arrows at the queen beofre i needed to reload. Didnt even need to ammo glitch them
Now all my quads are 2☆ 😢

Mysterious stranger is a must in a crossbow build.
Crossbow would be much better if it could have quad.

When we getting another legendary crafting video? I always root for you coz I really just want to see you get a groll just once. Why not try rolling some Railways next? Or how about something niche like rolling Pepper Shakers?
I'm not sure. I do the videos when there is a specific weapon I'm looking for.
I think you'd get more value out of this if you spec your build to crit every other shot. And try to line targets up for gun fu.

If they fixed the accuracy and upped the damage by 25% then i would be on board.
Explosive effect in general isn't that great. It used to be a lot more powerful. But these days all it will usually do is help kill you faster. I even tend to not bother with weapons that have the explosive effect added to them. It certainly is only great for stealth builds. It wont help a tank player.
For me a crossbow should have more range and higher dmg then a bow but take a lot more time to reload
You should try to run in third person. A lot of the animations tend to run faster. Or maybe it’s the perspective since you just don’t “see” the motions it feels faster.
I tried third person and couldn't tell any difference.
@@wiggle_plays could just be perspective. I know bows themselves are definitely better in third as you can skip a lot of the reload and knock the bow pretty fast. If you can get the timing down. Specially with the standard bow and it’s faster reload get a nice dps that way.
@GrapplerS10 i agree that 3rd is better for bows, but i also run into trouble in 3rd person. I'll go to nock and just nothing will happen. Sometimes i have to go into 1st and fire a shot, then go back to 3rd
@@beastabuelos6421 I’ve never really had the issue of not being able to. Could just not noticed also. Usually it’s just a matter of getting the timing down for me.
A crossbow... the worst version Bethesda ever made... bring back the skyrim crossbow!!!
Crossbow should never reload faster than the bow. That's super unrealistic. They should rather increase the damage by 25-35% and give it slightly more stagger effect than the bow. It would be perfect like that.
