Two questions. 1) If you have three mics plugged in and LR on, what goes into the L channel on mix and what goes into the R channel? 2) When you have LR on, the analog knobs only control the level being sent to the mix, not the ISO. When you have LR off, do the knobs control each ISO channel instead of the mix level from that channel?

Here are some answers to my knowledge:
      1. LR acts as the mix. All mics are recorded as mono into a stereo track. So, if you're recording 3 mics at once with LR (the mix) on, then all of those ISO tracks contain the left and right channel together.
      2. When you have LR off, there is no overall mix being created. So I like to think of the LR is a reference to all of the audio files as a whole. The only tracks that should be available are the ISOs.

@@jeffreyhackmedia Thanks, Jeffrey! Mono as stereo for each track makes total sense, so the F6 is really just recording a mono as stereo mix of all three tracks as LR...unless you're using stereo mics into any of the inputs. And I'm sure the analog knobs must control each ISO track level with LR off, otherwise there wouldn't be anything else for them to control. I really appreciate you getting back to me on this. Great explanation too!🙏

It was nice vid bro, however, to me there are still missing crucial elements like what we do with in iso settings? pan settings , do they have to be center or left and right? It is so so confusing. Also if you want to match levels for 2 iso tracks that have different mics or signal levels, to go to gain, you will need a minute to go to PFL .......and so on and so forth. Terrible! I hate it! There musi be 2 outside knobs, ZOOM must write it somewhere. 1 called GAIN and another one called LEVEL. Thats it. If you want ISO to be the same volume, oh my gosh..you will face a.terrible EXPERIENCE.

Thank you for the explanation. What's the advantage of recording multiple iso audio tracks?

    • @jeffreyhackmedia

The advantage is that you have multiple mono tracks to work with instead of relying on a single mixed track with all of your ISOs combined. I hope that answers your question.

@@jeffreyhackmedia Im trying to connet rode wilreless pro and dji mic2 into the f6...apparantly there is a 23 ms delay on the dji mic2s & 6.3 ms on the rode pros. What do I need to enter in the delay section on the f6 for each set of mics?

Hi, I am using a Saramonic lav kit that has 2 mic sent to one receiver. So one mic on the right and one on the left. But when I look at the file recorded, I only have the two mics on the left and nothing on the right... How can i separate the left and right on 1 input ?

Is your signal going into a camera? Or going into an external recording device?

Make sure that at least one of the faders is turned on before pressing record 🙂

Also, you might need to turn on phantom power for your NTG5

@bgibel yes, was set on Mic, don't record. Change to mic (ph), worked. But now I can not record 32bit float with mic ph.

@@IamHabibAkhtari I'm not sure what is going on with your inability to record 32-bit float. I recorded 32-bit float with my Zoom F6 using a Rode NTG3 with phantom power just yesterday.
