Latto X Mariah - Big Energy (TMC Rollerskate Club Mix)

Mariah has always been good with reworking samples. When she used the famous Tom Tom Club sample for "Fantasy" in 1995 it was already pretty epic. It became iconic when she added Wu-Tang Clan's O.D.B. in the mix making her the first to succesfully popularize the R&B HipHop collaboration, sparking a trend that we still see in today's music. Fast forward twentyseven ye... ehm, anniversaries... and here she is jumping on the "Big Energy" remix, proving she can do the exact same thing the other way around. Legendary! For my remix I wanted to keep the original vibe but I shaved off most of the instrumentation and reproduced it from scratch. I wanted to take it up a notch tempo-wise, resulting in this 120 BPM upbeat rollerskate jam with loads of cool disco elements. The radio version contains a nice little reference to the original 1995 "Fantasy", and for the club version I created a DJ-friendly intro and outro as usual.
