And Timbaland himself was also crediting music artists from the 80s being better than him and being inspirations for his music. The more you get back in time, dass the more difficult it was to produce music and only the very best of those little elite groups were featured by big labels and even less were successful.
But Timbaland was also better cause he didn't do all stuff alone, back then you could make way more money with music than today with SoundCloud etc, that's why a lot of producers from the labels helped the artist to create perfect music. This is also the reason why e.g. Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, PetShop Boys, etc don't have their original quality anymore. Also Robbie William's producer who was a producer since the 50s had to quit producing music and that's why Robbie is not doing music anymore. His producer already said back then that 'Bodies' would probably be one of his last productions before he quits
