Shit I yelled timber earlier when I was cutting this tree out of the backyard with my brother. There was a tornado last year and a lot of trees ended up in the back so we're still actually cleaning it up
My dad did this for years. He enjoyed every minute. He was awesome at what he did. It was awesome watching him conquer, something so big. Standing at the base watching gigantic trees fall. Between his Husqvarna, his Stihl and his Timber Jack Skidder.... No tree was to big. Ironically his name was Paul😂 People nicknamed him bunyan😂 Him and my uncle were Men among men. Sometimes I miss those days
... I saw 1 short video (shorts)... Now I'm here looking up "tree chopping" videos 😂😂 the Cracking sound, the squeaking/bending noises.. Too satisfying
I tried cutting it down and made it worse. Ended up calling someone for the service. It was leaning against my fence and I cut a V out on the compressed side to make it fall the direction I wanted, but it started cracking on other side. I still dunno how I was supposed to do it.
You have your back cut at the same height as the base of the notch which can be a problem. A higher back-cut prevents the tree from kicking back on the way down, which happened at least twice during the video. What do you think? It seems that between 3:55 and 4:10 the tree tried to barber chair but did not succeed. Did you bore-cut and had to get away before you cut the strap? I'm curious! Anyway, thumbs up.
Where I cut it's 95% hardwoods which means allot of the bottom logs are veneer. Also with hardwoods its fairly uncommon to have a kick back, it usually only happens when you get the top caught up in another tree.... As for the white oak that almost barber chaired. That tree had a lightning strike mark running down the side and there was another tree top leaning into it, as I was coming out with the back cut the tree started making noises so with all the odds against me I thought I better get out of there. Looking back I guess I should've stayed on it and continued cutting.... I guess that's why they say hindsight is 20/20 🤔 Thanks for the comment and sorry for getting back so late
The logs go to the sawmill to get cut into lumber. The lumber is then graded for nots and stain. the low grade lumber with nots goes to a pallet shop to be made into pallets while the clear lumber goes to mill shops where it will be made into things like furniture and hard wood floors.
imagine the 1st Europeans that came to North America they had to chop down most of the trees on the east coast to the plains and they did it with axes and hand saws.
Hi, I would like to use parts of this video for a tree song am doing. I have tried to privately message you about it but can't find you contact anywhere. Any chance you could give me permission to download and use it please? I will credit you of course. Thanks in advance.
I noticed that many of your escape routes were directly behind the tree, commonly 45° angle from fall direction is a little safer, that is just how I learned. Nice work, in the woods.
Anyone else shouting, “TIIMMBBEEERRR” while watching this!
Yes😂😂😂
