- This is actually an edited clip from the 1987 movie 'The Hidden'. It is one of my favourite car chase scenes of all time.

This is how they discovered another way to get back to the future.
For the film, they destroyed a real Ferrari costing $60,000. They confessed that it was a lot of fun. And the chase is an anthology scene. The '80s produced some excellent films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Robocop, Rambo, Predator, Beetlejuice, to name but a few, and smaller films like Dead Heat, Enemi Mine, Reanimator, etc. The list goes on.
omg enemy mine was such a great movie, whyyyy they released it like on Christmas i have no idea, it killed the movie i'm pretty sure, i loved this movie as a child, i wore the vhs tape out watching it lol i dunno maybe it's a terrible movie and i just love crap movies, i also liked water world so go figure.
Yeah they really didn't destroy a real Ferrari. It's pretty obvious all the ones with damage are replicas.
The blown up car is clearly a mock-up, but prior to that it all appears to be genuine Ferraris getting smashed.
The one that crashes through the roadblock appears to be have been red originally...the insides of the headlight buckets are visible as red@@regibson23

Yep. It was a worm-like alien creature who'd enter through the mouths of humans and do reckless things on earth. When their bodies are damaged, it'll just transfer to another person.

In movies, it doesn't matter how fast or nimble your car is, the chaser can always catch you in an inferior car, even a truck in some films. Lol.

Ferraris from the 70s and 80s were pathetically underpowered, and it's not like they handled well enough to compensate.
Alot of work trucks would absolutely destroy a Ferrari in a straight line back then.
I'm half convinced the cop cars had to slow down constantly and let him stay in front.

Oh yes, Back when they made car chases with real cars, and Stuntmen. Hitting actual speeds, real collisions and Explosions. I miss movies that don’t have BAD cgi faking action and excitement.

Great movie - "The Hidden" way ahead of its time!
Loved this movie when I was a teenager. Everyone always raves about the chase scenes in The French Connection and Bullit, but this has always been my favourite for it's balls to the wall madness. And that car hit with the plate glass has always seemed to me the hardest hit ever put on film. They don't make hits like that anymore (probably for good reason).
If you want a great car chase scene, watch THE SEVEN UPS.
I read in an article that the stuntman nearly lost his life. Apparently other stuntmen cringe when they view it.

Ferrari 308, 2400lbs, 240hp, 10lbs/hp vs. Dodge Monaco, 5000lbs, 220hp, 22lbs/hp. Guess too much Hollywood cocaine made this equal in 80-es...
@@Helloverlord Learning how to google helps too; power was actually 255hp with 355lb ft of torque and the weight was around 4100 for either dodge or plymouth while police are considered expert drivers. To your more valid point, bricks of cocaine were definitely on the rider in this movie's production contract.
@@boydoesititch It doesn't change the power to weight ratio too much. Driver could be an expert as much as he wants but driving a tractor does not help. Police cars are much heavier than civilian (440 specially, they were in 4500lbs range for civilian) due to added equipment, not to mention stone age suspension on those police cars compared to Ferraris. Torque is not helping either due to a small wheel contact surface (trasfering torque required friction). Don't get me wrong, I'm not fond of overpriced Italian junk car (308) but not a fan of underengineered shitboxes like those 80-es Dodge sedans... I'm glad we agreed on cocaine at least, lol.

Mmmm... my uncle had one of those, and I believe the hp was around 240. European ones had a little more, around 255 hp.
That’s all it needed back then, when the 2-1/2 ton police cars were lucky to have 185hp!!!
The 308 GTSi was the newer, fuel injected model. US models of this type lost horsepower, I believe as a result of the catalytic converter. In ‘83, the Quattrovalvole (4 valves per cylinder) was introduced to address this issue, and some of the power came back.

OH! this is the same guy that was in that one movie with tom selek and the flight of the navigator kid, i think it was about robots and was called run away and the bad guy was from the band kiss, it was a fantastic movie tbh, also if you want to watch a nice little one called I-man, same kid, guy from quantum leap was in it, also a good movie
