Wow - You both made SO many goals for 2024! Because you set the bar so high for yourselves, you're seeing where you're behind at the end of the first quarter - but I do want do give you both props for all you DID DO during the first quarter!!!!!!!!!!!! It's great that you got some weight loss protocols kicked off and that it's taking those single digit pounds off (that's the only way to get started!) ;) I love the getting in "GenCon-shape" goal. I want the same for myself for June and being in "vacation-shape" so I can do a lot of walking and have the stamina to enjoy my trip more. I'm going to try to get walking more starting NOW and will check in with you both on your steps too - lets get moving! I love Suzanne's organizational excitement! I do want to see her drive Ben crazy LOL and I'm so excited for whenever the studio is ready!
Thanks for your words of encouragement! We will definitely check in with you on the vacation/Gen-Con shape goals. They will get easier when it stops snowing in WI!
Good luck on the weight loss! One thing I did where I went from 254# to 212# was drink lots of water (about a gallon or so per day). That increased my metabolism, made me less hungry, and the only annoying side effect was extra trips to the bathroom. I don't think the kind of water matters, just drink what you like. I used body armor water.
I picked up a walnut Game Topper (along with 16 thematic mats) to complete one of my resolutions this year. I'm sure a dedicated game table will be a resolution for another year, but for now I think the Topper is fantastic. :o)
That's awesome! A dedicated game table isn't the right answer for everyone right away and having all of those mats will give you some really cool options. We hope you really enjoy what the topper adds to your gaming experience. It sounds fantastic!!!
@@wiscodice_main I'm glad you like the vinyl storage solution for your mats! It doesn't work for really large mats (I use a dresser drawer for those), but works great for the majority of my mats. Also, congrat's on continuing with your weight loss journeys. Seeing progress is the biggest motivator (for me, anyway) and it can be really discouraging when you don't see the results you hope for. Keep it up! Remodeling our basement is a resolution for 2024 & 2025, with demolition and waterproofing in 2024 and the actual remodel (to include a nice big board gaming area) in 2025. Interest rates these days make it almost impossible to accomplish large home improvement projects all at once unless you have the cash on hand.
@@jmkoeller Really works well for us! Conesy is going to build a rack for storage of his wargame mats (3x3 feet, 4x4 feet, and 4x6 feet mats for the most part) that will be like a little cart. That should take care of most/all of our really big mats.
So when you add new games to the library are you going to adjust/move existing games around? When you cull are you going to readjust the position of all the games on that shelf?
Hopefully there will be some space in shelves, but otherwise they will be moved to accommodate new games. And when we cull, that should give us some open spaces to fill in for thr next year. It sounds like a lot of work, but is easier than spending 10 min to find one game (which is what happens now).
