      Well I can give one example. I have a 215 pump with 5x12 injectors, no plate, 4K gsk, 19* timing, 62/71 turbo.
      Just installed their 055 DVs which are the smallest upgrade they offer, and they definitely made a difference. Good increase in throttle response and probably a 50 hp gain in the mid-top end. First time I stomped on it in 4th gear it felt like I’d unhooked a trailer

    So, does this make the 94-95 pumps equivalent to the 96-98 pumps? If not, is that possible or do you just have to get the newer pump?

    At what power level do you need to start worrying about changing rods and crank? I see a lot of great info about adding power however I haven't seen a lot of discussion about when during the engine's life. Is it playing with fire to double the power of a stock 12 valve with 200k on it or is that fine as long as you have minimal blow bye and good oil pressure? Thanks for the great videos.

    • @Dirtyol12valve
      @Dirtyol12valve Před 4 lety

      Parent of Twins there’s definitely stuff you’d want to upgrade with added power. Valve springs, valves keepers and retainers, pushrods, head studs. When you really up the power you could use arp hardware on your bottom end. But the stock crank and rods are incredibly strong in these engines. I wouldn’t worry about any of it until 800hp.

    I replaced the delivery valves in my '95 cummins 5spd (175 pump). It did make a difference in acceleration as well as smoke. I didn't know to remove the aluminum shim that is in the pump below the DV. Do I need to pull the DVs to get the shims out, or leave it alone since all seems fine? What difference will there be leaving them in?

      They change Duration, so your stock DV’s will stop fueling at about 3k RPM’s, these will basically fuel more and longer the bigger you go

    I just installed my valves in my pump this evening. The pump is off the engine so I was able to do the work with my bench vise. The question is since my pump has been off the engine (and turned on it's side), only a few of the barrels had diesel in them when I replaced the delivery valve. Should I had put some fuel in the barrel beforehand or is there any problem putting the new valves in with little/no fuel in the barrel? i wasn't sure if it made any difference as far as lubricating anything before the pump is run again.

    • @shawnlack1527
      @shawnlack1527 Před 2 lety

      Yes between the pre boost on the p pump and the fuel rate on the Afc live you should be able to control it to almost zero depending on how big of injector and dv.

    I had a question today I was driving on the road and it seemed like I was losing power for about the last week I've been having issues with black smoke more than usual only time I usually get black smoke as if I really step on it and I let off the fuel some it's got to hit the right power band other than that usually just a little bit are white smoke usually anyhow driving on the road today I got about 1800 lb in the back if that maybe 2000 I got another 12 valve Cummins in the back of my truck a Dana 80 some tools in the bed of the truck I'm always fixing things buying selling etcetera anyhow the truck hasn't ran right it seemed like the last week and a half just seems like it hasn't been on it's all legs I could feel it a little bit but not much it was so slight that I could barely feel it well today it started to bog down no power and next thing I know not a lot of power and it felt like it's got to mess with sure enough I pull over at the gas station I cracked the number one valve on the pee pump p71 Honda automatic 2500 4:49 1996 model there's hardly no fuel getting to it from the pump there's also hardly no fuel going to the injectorfor number one cylinder I guess if that's number one cylinder all the way for this towards the fan the rest of them you crack open you can hear the difference and see a mad amounts of fuel flowing through I don't know what's ever been done to this pump but I can say that I bought it and from what I know it's supposed to be all original from what I know I have drove in it the last 4 years without any issues pump wise or engine wise besides a head gasket that I'm going to be doing shortly it acquired a leak about a year ago down by the exhaust manifold up on top in the back next thing do I have to put bigger fuel delivery valves or can I just put the OEM there's a set that's on Amazon and also a rebuild kit can I just rebuild the one take the valve out with the spring in the washers and everything else and just replace that what all goes bad or what needs to be replaced that's all I'm asking for the truck has always run healthy otherwise was going to order a brand new remanufactured pumpfrom China cuz they're the cheapest or about 900 bucks and they come with a year warranty same as the warranty of Bosch p pump comes with through your local auto parts if anybody can give me insight on this I hope and pray that I don't have to put a new pump and I can just put one delivery valve and call it a day and down the line I can rebuild all of them cuz I'll have all the gaskets I ordered a brand new delivery valve set for 6 and all the gaskets all rings washers etc all from either Amazon or Ebay thank you for any input and also if you change to a higher grade delivery valve do you have to change your injectors would be greatly appreciated

    • @shawnlack1527
      @shawnlack1527 Před 2 lety +2

      Fuel more and longer, stock stops fueling at around 3k rpms, these will fuel way more in the mid range, and continue high flow past 3k where your stocks fall off

  • @Chris-.F

    I have 90 hp injectors with a 0 plate and a 61 72 14 phat shaft. What will upgraded delivery valves like these do for me?

    • @JJZBULLITT109
      @JJZBULLITT109 Před 6 lety +1

      Any other mods? GSK, AFC spring kit, AFC live, timing, etc? Delivery valves will increase the amount of fuel sent to the injector for each ignition event. For example the "55's" will flow 35 cc more of fuel whereas these "25's" are 65cc more of fuel. Your question doesn't really say much. Are you looking for more power for the sake of making more, trying to reach a specific hp/tq number for the dyno? Remember no matter what size d.v. you throw on over stock is going to translate to higher egt and you'll really want the tuner for that. You also don't say what year truck you have and that makes a difference as the earlier trucks have a smaller d.v. than the later trucks. A "55" D.V. is more toward someone that wants more fuel and tows (light), whereas the "25" is more for the hot rodder. If you tow heavy, and on steeper grades I wouldn't recommend anything over the 181 D.V.'s because it's going to get hot quick. Yeah, you can tune that out with AFC live but that'll sort of defeat the purpose. Then you'll start asking about water meth injection

    • @Chris-.F
      @Chris-.F Před 6 lety

      JJZBULLITT109 so basically just more fuel...I already have enough of that with the 0 plate

    • @JJZBULLITT109
      @JJZBULLITT109 Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, it's more fuel. The plate isn't the same thing, that controls the fuel profile but the 0 doesn't really do much. You'd be much happier with the AFC live setup since you can change how fast the fueling comes on and top end fuel. The AFC spring kit will also help you especially since you're running a phat shaft. You don't need more fuel, just tuning the fuel you already have. More than likely you'll pick up some mpg and drop your egt's.

    • @JJZBULLITT109
      @JJZBULLITT109 Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks guys, you all rock! I used to be in contact with Will regularly over on CF, he was a huge help in getting all the right bits together for my transmission build years back. I can't say enough good things about the AFC live setup and having put a set of PDD injectors in my truck really couldn't have worked out any better. The only complaint was some P.O. of those injectors buggered the thread on one injector return line hole. No big, chased the thread and wrapped it up. I wish you carried the suspension and body components I need for the truck so I could give you that business too.
