It seems like you intentionally avoided the OSS's role in Rasputin's assassination. It's widely historically accepted that Lt. Oswald Rayner fired that shot in the courtyard after encouraging Yusupov's plot, and the killing bullet that was found in Rasputin's head was from a British military service revolver. I loved the rest of the episode, but it felt like you deliberately glossed over a huge factor in his assassination, which was that *britain* was upset with rasputin because his talks of armistice would be disastrous if the Germans only had to fight on one front.

Plot twist: Rasputin just took a nap in the river for 90 years.
Yusopov and his co-conspirators chased Rasputin out into the yard, shooting him two more times and beating him with a rubber club. To ensure he didn't rouse again, the men tied Rasputin in a blanket and dumped his body into the Neva River.
Adding another layer of mystery to Rasputin's death, his body was found with his right arm outstretched, presumably to make the sign of the cross, indicating that he was still alive when he hit the water and managed to partially free himself [source: Wilson]. The autopsy report listed hypothermia from the freezing water as Rasputin's cause of death. However, the autopsy also revealed that he had been shot in the forehead, leading some to believe that he must have been dead before being dumped in the Neva River [source: Moynahan]. Interestingly, it showed no evidence of poison in the body.

Not sure if it’s validity but I also heard that when they found rasputin’s corpse, his fingers were scratched down almost to bone, showing that he was alive for at least a few minutes as he still had the strength to claw at the ice. Really a crazy dude

I remember reading about him being shot then running outside and the emptied their magazine into him. He stared crawling away and they got shovels and beat him until he stopped moving and tied him in a bag with rocks. the bag ripped open and apparently during the autopsy he had multiple bullet wounds, bruises and a broken neck from the beating but not of this killed him. apparently he drowned.
