The only problem is that in modern banking, reserves are not what you think they are. Most reserves that are held by financial institutions are in fact debts from other institutions, especially governments. Derivitives are just the straw that is breaking the whale's back, as people are borrowing money that doesn't actually exist. Really this is just the market correcting for decades of malinvestment.

Unemployment is higher than in my years and bankruptcies worse since 1996. They seem to be spinning up the printers again as inflation has gotten below the 2% goal but I’m afraid it will jump up again.

I heard a fun theory about stocks. The reason stocks only go up in the past ~35 years is due to automated investing due to retirement accounts. People are largely putting more money into them than they are taking out hence line go up. The majority of "shareholders" are regular people putting in money every month automatically from employment. Since so many people now have retirement accounts, when that situation reverses, aka they start selling stocks to pay for retirement at rates greater than young folks are putting money in, stocks will essentially only ever go down and people will laugh at everybody putting money into the stock market.
That assumes business as usual over the next ~40 or so years with expected rates of demographic collapse. If things stop behaving "as usual" all of the fancy theories go out the window.

My lecturer was steering us away from that big time but borrowing from the Japanese government and loaning it to the aussie gov and helping yourself to a risk free slice, as long as the exchange rate didn't move against you was mind blowing.

Things aren't looking good if they need to replace a whole bunch of 13th and 14th gen parts, the margins on those were almost nonexistant, noone is buying intel parts for servers either, last time this happened AMD had to sell off theiry foundry business to keep limping on until they managed to get to zen 1
The only thing that would save them is being bailed out by the US govt and/or 15th gen somehow being a home run which doesn't seem likely and it might not be very profitable to offset their losses.

TMSC wafer quality, intel 13th> and AMD zen 5 silicone has been of low yield. Tech companies got greedy and start knocking out over priced shit on and the costumers. You can't blame another country that winning at the game. market and stock trade Investment are a risky game. US crashed the market in 2008 effecting the world and no action was taken to those who coursed it. Tech part in UK are dropping that's a good things. People who invest in Evil market loose. What ever the country. Japan is over due a massive market crash as they been riding the good life to long. Looking at Intel Price today they are only surviving on the capital currently, if that runs out, boom! but they have millions in land and capital. Gambling with borrowed money is a fools game.

Raising interest rates is a good thing though for cutting out the speculative bullshit.
When AMD was at five dollars per share and shot up to 50 because of the PlayStation 4 contract and the development of the Zen architecture, that was genuine growth based off of actual investment in people and product.
The current dip from 180 to 130 seems to be the speculators riding the AI bubble being worried about entering the fuck around and find out stage that is coming.

Before you go ahead and lay all blame to the Japanese do you know or understand why they had let their interest rates remain at zero for almost 20 years.
Second do you think this was serving the interests of the people of Japan or Americans.
third Do you know why Americans where lending money from the Japanese Market and invest in Bonds in the USA then keeping the profits while the Japanese market makes zero from this activities.
The Japanese Market was not created to carry the burden of the Americans, but you probably think they are

Nvidia is not worth 1/1000 at the moment, they are living on an A.I bubble like Cisco was right before the crash. Is there an Nvidia cpu/gpu in your xbox?, playstation, smart tv, steam handeld, the stock market is all about hype and make believe, once the numbers show what a disaster things are like with Intel, than will it tumble down. Companies who bought these pointless heat generator blades are to me a laughing stock, a couple of ascis away from being made pointless. Jensen really is the best salesmen in the world, selling snow to eskimo's.

@@mryellow6918 No they aren't, only idiots have bought the AI nonsense because of hype and lack of real world ROI, I know a few labs use Cuda though since have tried helping them out with optimisation, but other than that its not that popular. They lost Telsa as a customer a decade ago. They lost Apple A decade ago, and only Nintendo is stupid enough to get Tegra APU's, and you can't compare a handheld like a switch to the price of a PS5 pro or an Xbox, its more Steam Handheld with regards to pricing of the APU. And even than the APU's raw selling price to Nintendo is probably 75% that of a AMD APU, let along about a 15% difference to the APU in a PS5 and Xbox,
Nvidia has gotten a big mouth and a big ego but nothing but hot air to back it up, everytime their one size fits all cuda is found to be usefull for something like Bitcoin mining or now this AI craze, they leverage the hell out of it and Jensen sells more of his personal stock right before the crash.
Huang has sold off $1.4 billion of company stock since 2020. He intends to continue selling his shares through the month of August, according to a separate filing. reported 2 days ago

Bryan, Intel did it to themselves a long time ago can't get out of monopoly cost overhand easily. AMD chased them there over the last 4 years accelerating the last 2 years and to the extent there is now a tipping point on some catalyst to pull the rug out from already a tenuous position AMD and Intel did it to themselves the last 9 month stock price drop bashing each other on who can produce more surplus aimed to control the channel financially only which Nvidia on product Ada dGPU mobile gen for all plus data center survived to now. AMD might have some ins now on data center accelerators but today not laptops at least right now on all the Intel Meteor, Raptor, Alder and the AMD mobile oversupply at Rembrandt and Cezanne plus 2 layers of intermediate tech Phoenix and Alder. I don't think its KK within the industrial order nor Japan, AMD and Intel did it to themself. mb
