Episode 8 actually has a post credits scene unlike most!
I just witnessed a rouge Sith turned struggling artist take down aerial attackers while drifting on a wheelie bike. This is why I love Star Wars.
Firstly, I'm not judging the typo because "rouge" in french of course means "red". That being said, "red sith" totally makes thematic sense anyway so hell yeah.
Also, this episode and entire series is indeed also why I love Star Wars.
I love how her perception of The Force was in paint. Makes you wonder how many other ways different force users can perceive it.
In the EU comics and books the force was shown as being interpreted many different ways. One of them was similar as in they connected to the force with music, they would hear sounds or music and make their connection that way. Hopefully force users that find a different path to the force other than the Jedi or Sith becomes main SW cannon in the future
@@TheOnlyHawkeye666 they did add that in canon. That’s how the high republic Jedi are they all perceive the force differently. I believe they gave Avar Kris the music perception of the force. Iirc it’s been awhile since I read the book

This episode was made by a spanish studio, and the voices actors are Úrsula Corberó (Tokio from Money Heist) as the apprentice, and Luis Tosar (a very well known actor in Spain, who also appeared in the movie Miami Vice) as the master.
Her saber is also not a katana, but supposed to be like an actual saber sword. Seems like people think only Katanas are curved.

This episode was created by the spanish studio "El Guiri" ("Guiri" is the way we call foreign people here in Spain), and the characters are dub by the legendary spaniard actor Luis Tosar, and Úrsula Corberó (Tokyo in La Casa de Papel or Money Heist)
But for what language was it animated for? Spanish, English or Japanese?

@@Bayard1503 Maybe they did it in Spanish and English, just like the studio did with Hogwarts Legacy, they did it in English and when they dub it in Spanish, they changed the lip sync
I had a physically emotional response to the moment when she embraces her whole self.
I really like the concept of a dark-sider moving to the light but still being followed/haunted by the darkness.
And if these reactions are gonna be once per week, they'll go through the end of June, which covers a good chunk of the time before Ahsoka. 😀
I really dug the art style of this one. I really love these sort of creative anthology series where different creators with different styles and tones and cultures can have some freedom to create something inspired by Star Wars while also doing it's own thing. Really cool.
Visions has become and always shall remain one of my favorite mediums of Star Wars. No Canon story, just a few connecting pieces.
You probably won't see this but you fine gents in the Wave Squadron should check out the trailer for Vader: Pull to the Light. I did 90% of the VFX on it and spent 100's of hours on it so far. Always been a fan of you guys and our shared love for Star Wars!

@@jeanbatiste7079 I did! I'm always studying John Williams style (though I could never be as good as the GOAT). But yeah, I saw a few comments saying we should show it to the Blind Wave guys and I was like "Yeah! I LOVE those guys!"

I've watched to Aardman one and seriously this season, not just elevated the Visions to another level, but made an incredible masterpiece. This is almost equally great to Andor to me.
Not only am I not an anime fan, I could say I dislike it, so the 1st season was a struggle. I enjoyed this season so much

@Dean Inselman I can't give an exact reason there's just something I find off putting about it. I've tried watching a few, akira, AoT, even the castlevania anime, it just doesn't click with me. I love "western" animation, so I just don't know what it is...

Was a great season. Some of the episodes would be awesome as a spin off series
Rodrigo Blaas has also collaborated a few times with Guillermo del Toro, most famously on the Trollhunters series where he served as showrunner!
Incidentally, I met Rodrigo twice at an art event he was speaking at. Enormously funny and generous guy, so I'm glad he and his studio got this opportunity ^^
This short immediately had me wondering if the studios had more freedom this season. Cause *everything* about the presentation, the style, and just overall feeling of this short blew me away! Just the very beginning where we immediately see the setting look like it was sketched out made my jaw drop, everything about this short oozed style! I imagine they had a lot of fun making this cause of how creative they could be with it. I loved seeing another wheel bike, that’s something I desperately want more of in Star Wars! And I loved how the lightsaber blades looked a little curved, it was really neat, the MC’s immediately made me think of a cutlass but I’m sure that’s not right. The master’s voice really sounded like Lance Reddick to me, and it’s really weird cause I swear I’ve heard Luis Tosar’s name before I don’t recognize anything he’s been in. Why do I know his name?! XD but yeah, this was jaw dropping the whole way through, definitely going to look up this studio!
I said It once and I'll say it again, I love how they did raw metal, the droid, the wheel Bike, her arm, all of that there's shots where if you pause, the only thing that looks 3d is her face
I haven't seen them all yet but next one might be my favorite visions episode and for me it ranks above my favorite sw short animated stuff, the 2003 clone wars
This is my favorite from the season. I love how she creates the colors through the force and how she was a sith but left that behind, I want more of this story.

That one became my favourite one-off Star Wars story EVER. I've watched it constantly.

The perception of the Force as a painting is wonderful. I was reminded of Kreia's own description of the Force:
"It is like a cloud, a mist that drifts from living creature to creature, set in motion by currents and eddies. It is the eye of the storm, the passions of all living things turned into energy, into a chorus. It is the rising swell at the end of life, the promise of new territories and new blood, the call of new mysteries in the dark."
It is nice to see different interpretations, and paths to a thing usually portrayed as a binary.
Because it is binary. Whoever says it isn't is going directly against the world-building and writing a fanfic. She is going through the same thing that Yoda did in Season 6 of TCW.

@@InevitableVitare Again: it *is* Binary. The Jedi are The Lawful Good Guys and are driven by compassion whereas the Sith are the Bad Guys who are driven by selfishness. It is a Morality Tale. A Myth. This was intentional.

I saw a parody of that called "Wet Dreams Make Come." Let's just say Heaven wasn't made of paint.
One of the many hiccups in Bane's plan for the Rule of Two.... it was NOT an unbroken chain.
This is why Sith Holocrons exist, to restart "The Plan" when things like this happen.

I respect going in blind, but I kinda wish they knew about the international studios going in. Knowing the country of origin really influenced the way I watched each episode, I feel in a positive way.
In my mind, the painting at the beginning was her escapism from her past

I like that the sith master had a broadsword and actually used it like a broadsword and she used hers like a saber
the wheel bike definitely reminds me of Grevous's and the fighter reminds me of The Coloniel Viper from the original Battlestar Galactica
i get the feeling in the end that the Sith Master is proud of his apprentice....she may not acknowledge herself as a Sith, but she is a skilled warrior and does use the Dark Side...what he wanted wasn't to destroy her (unless she is unworthy), nor necessarily to bring her back, but for her to express the Dark Side and use it, even if different from him
the art style was amazing, very interesting take and presentation.

The sabers looked of Spainish origin. The red sith's saber has an El Cid style hilt with the flat blade. The curved blade was a cutlas or actual sabre style with the slight curve at the tip. Very interesting takes on them!
You mentioned the movie What Dreams May Come! A beautiful movie that caused a lot of tears!
The double curved lightsaber reminds me of a Yin/Yang symbol.

This is honestly one of the most beautifully animated episodes of tv I have ever seen. I especially loved that for Lola to defeat her former master she needed to embrace BOTH the dark side and the light. One of my problems with the Jedi and the Sith is they both lean towards their sides to much. I’m hoping The Acolyte is as amazing as this episode.
How the fresh frick did nobody react to the booty shot? That’s literally the pinnacle of this episode.

As an artist, this is the kind of episode that Sabine Wren would definitely approve of.
The animation style in this episode looks so familiar to into the spider verse, the rouge sith’s hair style reminds me of Doc Olivia Octavius!
I hate to hate, so Animation is a 12/10, just awesome to look at.
The voice acting falls a bit off on some of these, but I really liked the ones Sith´s performance
In this the story was pretty light and easy, and very Ahsoka-ish
The story was simple but that felt deliberate to me, because the focus was on the visual. That probably wouldn't work for a series but as a one-off I enjoyed it.
Shame you didn't went to the actual panel. They mention how each short basically have a reference to the culture it was made from like the Indian short!
This episode is probably one of my favorite for the visual !! So beatiful in is art. It is remind me spider-verse in a way.

Sith takes place before Phantom Menace
there are many canon and noncanon explanations for the Dark Side of the Force, some say it is unnatural, purely destructive, corrrosive to life and those who use it, it can't coexist with the Light and the two clashing would result in one needing to destroy the other, the two can't coexist and the Dark must be destroyed
i have always (in my own mind) as both The Light and Dark being both natural, neither necessarily good or evil, just powered in different ways....if you follow The dark, you weren't necessarily evil or corrupted, but rather it drew and grew on what you fed it...feed it hate and it will destroy you
The Dark was meant to naturally balance the Light: Order vs Chaos, Rigidity vs Fluidity, Stability vs Change...the Dark can draw out creativity, ambition, emotion (which can be wild and out of control, but also fuel us, inspire us and strengthen us) and that's why characters like the Bendu can exist but neither side is good or evil and a balance can be achieved
You could easily see the Light used to impose order, structure, discipline to the point of control, oppression, and rigid order, with the Dark side used to oppose that, freedom, adaptability and desire to preserve differences and creativity against a rigid, imposed order
she is a Great Jedi

She definitely has issues, and an altered sense of reality, not necessarily bad but she doesn't see the universe the way others do.

I've noticed more in this season that most of the episodes could easily fit into the main universe without major narrative disconnect. Can't say I'm a particularly big fan of the Visions series but I do appreciate the expansion of the themes, something that Star Wars is particularly egregious for is repetition without really improving.

Why does it matter, it isnt even canon.
George Lucas was literally inspired by Japanese media such as movies by Akira Kurosawa. Star Wars + Japanese media are a great fit. And anime is a great medium for Star Wars style stories.
The beautiful dark-haired lady Sith painter artist well she kind of reminds me or looks a lot like the actress in Farscape
To echo what Eric says here, What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams is truly a special film. Really interesting and love that Eric brought it up here haha. No one I know ever seems to have seen it.
