There is a lot in common with Indian food. The Sapota is commonly available in India, called as Chikku. Good to know that one fruit has migrated in the opposite direction to most other fruits - Jamun. Some Cassava dish similar to what you ate is also made in Kerala. The sweet flat bread you rolled at the end is called puran poli or holige.

One good thing about Guyana is, they do have some of the best tasting food in the region. If nothing else the people do know how to cook.
