@@guidinglight6968 To explain: Garen's ult is a form of magic (yes, in magic-hating Demacia) that derives from the Demacian worship of justice - and not just any justice, but the Aspect of Justice. Yes, Demacia worships Kayle, although they only know her as 'The Winged Protector' since she left centuries ago.
To use D&D terms, Garen is a Paladin who calls down the power of his goddess upon the unjust. So, if Kayle chose, she could just... NOT give him that power anymore.
@@Stolanis Kayle is the daughter of the Aspect of Justice thought, not the aspect herself. Maybe she will inheritance the power of aspect in the future, but not for now.
I love how the power spikes match with her scaling in League 👍
Level 6, 11 and 16 are Kayle's spikes for those that don't play LoL ^^^
Level 6 - auto attack gains range (Get quick attack in LOR)
Level 11 - auto attack deals damage in a cone area after maxing passive (Get overwhelm in LOR)
Level 16 - auto attack deals damage in a cone every attacks (Get double attack in LOR)

The devs really outdid thmeselves with this level up animation. It's glorious, it's gorgeous, it has reminescences of the first art directions where the cards where evolving themselves rather than the champions in the art. I love this.

Imagine, you built this amazing deck just so you can use Xolaani because you really like her as a character and you work hard you look up guide's and make the best deck to enable her to win you the game. And then you play the game, and once you finally get your Xolaani on board and it seems like it's GG, she get's silenced at burst speed
@@agony_addict I mean there's a lots of ways to deal with follower that doesn't have spell shield. Hush, minimorph, stun, transform, etc... The players should expect this tbh
@@agony_addict it is useless to create a deck with the cards you like best, Lor is not a game made for that. You simply copy one of the decks with the strongest cards and play with a minimum of intelligence. It's a much more boring game if you think about it.

Wow the contrast from Atrox's reveal makes this hit extra hard, the angelic music, the theming and even using a villain card to create a little storyline in a 2 min trailer, along with the slightly longer pause on Kayle's wordy textbox. Whoever edited and planned this 10/10, quite a lot of planning for a 2 min video, best one yet.
The music even changes from angelic to dramatic/foreboding when Xolaani appeared. The sheer effort for such a small video, bravo!
I found it hilarious when Xolaani came in looking scary but lost to hush lmao

Finally, Kayle does something she is supoused to do in lore. It was super weird that she didn't do anything during the Ruined King event, being the aspect of justice and all.
But Kayle vs the Darking is super fitting.
I hope Morgana gets her spotlight aswell
She was in search of answers in Targonian Prime during Ruination, she probably didn't even knew about that
None of the aspect help during the event. Pantheon was only there cause Viego actively seek him out. And his aspect was already dead at that point

While oldest of them are pure good, like Bard and Soraka(so peaceful that they even won't became an Aspect and they created they're own body), otheres have their own interests. Now they have their own disagreements, like Golden Sister and Silver Sister, so yeah, im sure they interested only on real deadly cataclysms. Also Darkins it's a real problem, which they created themselves, so they kinda trying fix their mistake

The empower 16 gives double attack. Not quite a second level up but definitely a huge spike at 16 power.
I really feel too she should have been an Ascended champion with 3 levels.

@@raekwonchambers2297 She basically borned as an ascended person with Morgana. But they awakened their celestial powers the moment they touched their mother's sword, that can be count as a kind of ascension if we are not that strict.
Bro i dont know if the devs will see this, but i love you guys. I have been playing league for years and we are finally seeing the world come together. We now know mihira, kayle wouldnt shut up about her before i love this. Seeing the growth of darkin and this world is amazing. Keep being amazing devs

@@Deltastream7567 But lorewise, Kayle and Morgana have more interactions and their destinys are merged bc they are the 2 sides of the same coin (The aspec of Justice). Kat and Cassio lore don't even affect the other one, like i'm not even sure is Kata knows that Cassio basically became medusa and work for the black rose or even care about it.

As she should be. The fury specifically, as she's tried to forsake all emotion in an attempt to be impartial and fair. Also this set is perfect to emphasize that aspect of her what with there being a very clear cut big bad to smite.

Aspect of Justice looking like a watcher but good. I wonder what the other aspects looked like before becoming mortal or occupying a host.
Man, that level-up animation is amazing... That ult animation, that flight through clouds and ascension with the sun on the background... and then she does that angry face and all momentum is lost. Cut out the last second so it ends on 0:54, it would be so much better. Imo it should end on its highest note, but that "I attack" pose just wasn't it.

@@agony_addict Generally, it's not the first time I see problems like this. They hold the animation for too long quite regularly. It seems they have some sort of quota for the animation length, which makes sense, but can't they add that one second before the high point of the sequence, not after? Especially if you don't have any ideas about what to add? The worst offender in this is Yuumi. The first part where she flies on the book is great, but then she just walks around and it's super disappointing.

I think the last part of her level up she is just standing far away for too long. A bit dull, they should've did a dynamic zoom in where she swings her sword toward the camera or something.
Like Aatrox is zoomed in on sword than nice zoom out to see his wings fully extend with all the darkin energy, its sweet.
This with Freljord buff archetype sounds really good
i think she'll be best in a bard or buff deck.
Ionia Handbuff is good too. That region has lots of protection to keep Kayle on board

there are some champion cards that is tangible how good League's mechanics/concepts were translated into LoR.
Ahri, Jhin, Kindred, Kayn, Anivia and Seraphine are the ones that excels in this aspect in my opinion, adding Kayle now.
There are also those that are Lore-accurate, or somewhat remember LoL's gameplay, but feels like "meh", like Heimer, Vlad, Trynd, Garen (really league-accurate actually, a bit strong and a lot dumb) and so on.
Just try comparing these to others that are generic, like Karma, Hecarim, Sion, Galio, Cait, Nami, etc etc.
Anyway, VERY GOOD work on her, congratulations

Hush is basically useless against anything equipment related. You run hush? You have useless cards against every Aatrox/darkin/weaponmaster matchups.
I agree on the abuse of elusive keyword tho. In what world increase in power comes with increase in stealth??
@@eolyas1664 Never the case, even weaponmasters run buffs/combat tricks, you can even hush a frozen unit to save it, sometimes it wins you the game or saves a unit, but its never useless.
Thematically for the set the messenger getting elusive fits, so it can fly away to go get Ryzs.
I do agree that Challenger makes more sense but, if Kayle wants to kill evil, you don't just cut off its limbs, you go straight for the heart (in this case, the Nexus). Elusive also conveys that no enemy can touch Kayle, both by her exalted range and her ascension past the mortal plane.
@@VigilTheProtogen one, if you want to avoid blockers and go for nexus damage WITHOUT tilting every player in the game, you go for overwhelm. Two, if you are trying to convey “exalted range” or “powerful ascension”, quick attack and double attack are GREAT at showing how Kayle is untouchable while attacking. You could also go for barrier, but that doesn’t really shout “endgame finisher” as much as a 16 power overwhelm double attack.
Also, just because Kayle is “above the mortal plane” doesn’t mean you can’t see her. Really she makes herself quite visible, but even if you see her coming for you there’s nothing you can do. You know what keyword conveys that idea? CHALLENGER.
The only unit where elusive makes sense is on the messenger because it’s not meant to fight, at least not head on, so elusive fits. But it shoudn’t have 4 health as an elusive unit, since honestly that thing looks kinda fragile
