Even tho i need to get some zzz's long work day on 1st shift but I gotta hear what u have to say. SKOL
I feel Viking nation needs to put on the brakes a bit on McCarthy. All I see is how if McCarthy takes over, we are turning into a dangerous team. While I would be very excited if this were true, my expectations of him are more down to earth. I hope he progresses enough throughout the season to take the starter job, but even then, I feel there is going to be a big learning curve for him. The odds of drafting a QB and him turning into a long term starter in the NFL is about 1 in 3. I fully back JJ, but I am not getting my hopes up until he shows he can play.
I'm actually hoping that Sam Darnold takes the job in training camp. He's a veteran now, and he was a high first rounder. He's due to start looking like a serious QB.
What an unbelievably stupid comment. You don’t just magically become good because you’re a veteran and were drafted high. Why even watch if you’re this uneducated about football? Darnold is a backup on all 32 teams in the nfl.
ESP while getting paid $10M
Thank you for making this video!
Let's go vikings!
I hope they keep Mullens on the active roster. He has the most experience with the playbook, the coaches and the receivers. His knowledge will come in handy in the QB room. Plus, to me he's like a cross between Tommy Kramer and Brett Favre, two of my favorite former Vikings QB's. I think they can keep Hall on the practice squad.
The person who needs to prove he's not another mond or just a backup Is jaren hall if he makes the team then Mullins can be traded or cut but I hate seeing so many picks like mond and hall get wasted here
I’m rooting for Darnold to thrive for one to three years while McCarthy gets acclimated.
I mean darnold averaged sub 60 comp i cant see no reason he improves from that in a qb friendly system like the vikings and darnold was a former first rounder and 6 years in
I think darnold performs well and gets extended 2 years to mentor and develop jj at a steady pace like jordan love
I wouldn’t be surprised if he str balls out..
Darnold needs to start mccarthy needs to watch and learn only fools rush in
Touche
McCarthy is a guy with an NFL body and pro arm strength. He's a blank canvass after that. The QB coaching will be key. Michigan did not do anything that resembles Nfl passing. McCarthy had his best moments on play action plays when the wr was wide open. He struggled when trying to layer passes
love the Matrix analogy
There is No competition! Sam Darnold is the starter!
What should be discussed is can McCarthy beat Mullins for the backup job!
What? Are you hoping for this outcome? Why would you want this?
Interesting that you'd use the word zip with Darnolds arm... I've read from several others that were at the same ota that there's a noticeable difference between McCarthy and Darnold arm strength. Darnold does not have the zip or strength and it is a noticeable difference.
Darnold has always been good in practice. The vast majority of backups are decent in practice.
Who do you think has more arm talent - Darnold or JJ?
We need to sign back WR Olabisi Johnson and go get LE A.J. Epenesa
I think it is highly unlikely that Mullens will be QB2 to start the season. I don’t think he can beat out Darnold for the job. Maybe if another team has an injury and they trade for Sam Darnold. Otherwise, Darnold will be QB2 and Mullens QB3.
How was Justin Jefferson lol
Let's go lioness
JJ wont get fined for missing camp since its his rookie contract. He wont even need to show up with an injury excuse.
I hope our team leadership is not dumb enough to rush McCarthy. It could derail the franchise for many years.
Darnold start I see a lot of turnover
I have a strong feeling Mullens gets traded
I'll bet he doesn't. McCarthy expectations have cooled wayyy down since the OTAs during which he looked not so good, which surprised me since I set unrealistic expectations like many others.
He's a good salesman whose first presser convinced me he had a solid mental grasp on things. Back to earth now realizing that was all bs.
Mahomes is rarer than even we think. Very rare hitting the ground running at such a high level instantly.
Williams in Chicago looks like he might be that way. Spectacular veteran-like OTAs for him.
Hmmmm.
Uh-oh. The McCarthy haters are eating this up. Can't wait for the: "See? I told you so!" smh.
Agreed. Hope yer right in the end.
Trade Nick Mullens for what???
Hall is better than mullens wtf
Measured choice. Hall vs. Packers was so ugly it was scary. Reminded me of a Monday night game years ago in NY with a certain new qb traded to MN.....😂
Coller has a lot of bad takes.
The Viking will be 0-5 if Darnold starts the season.
Who do you expect to start ?
Don’t really know, but I’ve watch Darnold play at USC and with the Jets and Panthers, his inability to make plays when they are needed and he is prone to turnovers. The coaches will make the decision, but this is going to a tough season, would like to go with McCarthy let him make the mistakes and get better on the field.
@@DavidRobbins-ou7udthats long ago, and he played for unfortunate teams this is the first complete team he will play for and i bet you he will show out like baker and geno. He looked polished when he was with 49ers with the limited footage of him no doubt in a qb friendly system with the vikings he will succeed and take the lead role for a few years
@@icymisttI live in Tampa and Baker or Geno is not taking a team to a Super Bowl, if you want 8-9 wins year after year Darnold might be your guy.
I disagree. He has more talent around him than ever before in his NFL career and the coaches will help him. He just needs to play within the system. If KoC can make cousins look like a top 5 qb than he can do the same with a guy with more god given talent.
